     We tried to find Ms. Kay a home after her owner (my mom) fell seriously ill after a heart attack and stroke. Since she was not a full boxer we couldn't find a rescue group to take her and I didn't want to take her to a shelter. Within a couple of days on Rescue Me, I found her the perfect home! We texted back and forth and made a plan to meet halfway between Kansas and Texas. I have already received pictures of Ms. Kay snuggling in bed with her new owner in her forever home and know she will be loved as much as my mom loves her. Thank you so much for this site!      I have been calling local no kill shelters for months trying to find room for both of my ex-husband's dogs, to no avail. He had been threatening for months to shoot them or to get rid of them because he couldn't care for them. I got him to agree to let me find them a home before doing something drastic. One of the shelters got tired if me calling and asking if they had room and suggested I use this website. But just before the deadline for having them euthanized, I began to receive emails of interested people. I texted my ex each time I got an email, but the people didn't follow through. But that got him to hold off each time also. Thankfully, a family adopted both dogs! Thank you to that family! And thank you for Rescue Me! My two beautiful boys will have a real family again and their lives were saved.

     We were looking for a little sister for our nine year old Boxer, 'Moose'. It's a jungle out there. After looking at different breeders we decided to rescue one. We are glad we did. We found Bonnie. When I was a kid, I had a Boxer called 'Bonnie', and that's her name from now on. Bonnie has breakfast in bed with the rest of us. She runs around in the backyard when she feel like it. My wife and I are retired, so we have a lot of time to spend on the dogs.      Our family is relocating and we will not be able to bring our aging boxers. I have been trying to figure out what to do about this and came upon Rescue Me! Three days after posting both of my Boxers have a new home. This is especially special because that sweet angel lady took Laila knows that her best years are behind her and her hips are failing. The vet offered to put her down a week before and we decided to hold off because Laila is not ready. My family is so grateful. My family really misses them, but can rest better knowing they are in a good environment.

     I would just like to tell Jeff, thank you for making this website I hadn't even known existed till I lost my baby Olivia at only six years old from heart disease. I had just adopted a boxer mix when my friend said she needed help finding a home for an older boxer that had lost its owner. And it couldn't have been a better match. He was lonely from losing his owner and she was heartbroken from losing her little boy. I would just like to tell Lori God bless you for taking a chance with a older dog.      When we put our Black Lab down in September of the previous year, I thought it would be a bit before I got another dog. Although I love dogs, I couldn't bring myself to get another dog, as I took our previous dog's death pretty hard. It was about six months later that my kids started telling me that they wanted a puppy which I tried my best to resist. It was after a friend asked me to dog sit for her, that I knew we would be getting another dog. I just hoped I could hold off until summer when my wife, who is a teacher, could be home with the dog more. I applied to a rescue organization for labs because we had declared ourselves a lab family, or at least a retriever family. We (really my wife and I) needed a big dog. We had both grown up with Springer Spaniels and when our lab landed in our laps, we decided we would only get labs. So after applying to a lab rescue group, both my wife and I started to feel like it was going to be a while before we did get a dog through this organization as the dog had to be good with kids and cats and it seemed most of the dogs were approved for older kids. She suggested that maybe I should look into other organizations. So even though we live in Virginia, we live very close to Southern Maryland so I googled 'Southern Maryland Lab Rescue' which brought me to Rescue Me. I contacted the owner with questions, she wrote back and answered them and an appointment made for us to meet Max. When we met him, we knew he would fit in perfectly in our home. It is now two weeks since we brought him home and our family couldn't be happier. He is the sweetest dog and gets along great with our kids and is learning to let the cats have their space. They say things happen for a reason and you need to connect the dots after they happen. If I hadn't gotten frustrated with the first organization and started looking elsewhere, I wouldn't have found Max and who knows where we would be. I tell my wife, I didn't know I needed a dog, until I met Max! Thank you, Rescue Me!

     Tucker had play dates with his new Mom that lengthened each time. He now lives on 40 acres, chases squirrels, digs big holes and has made friends with the cows across the fence. He gets to hike all the time, helps mend fences and does not want to come into the house at the end of his day outdoors. He has the perfect Boxer life, one I could not give him living where I do now. The best parts for me: he has bonded tightly with his new Mom and I get to have play dates with him when her truck needs working on. A young woman named Charity contacted me with questions about Katniss and within two days decided she wanted to adopt her. She drove two hours to get Katniss and as soon as she got out of her car, Katniss ran to her and jumped on her. That evening Charity texted me a picture of herself. Two days later I received pictures of the two cats who are now Katniss's siblings. Charity is happy with her dog and I am happy that Katniss no longer has to compete with my three dogs for attention.      I never expected much from Rescue Me. But boy did they deliver! I posted a Boxer named Ayla who's owner passed and needed a good home fast. Within four days, I had two serious adoptees with several more to follow. This experience was so successful that we chose the first interested family after we vetted them ourselves. I will absolutely use this site in the future. We rescue privately from the street and the shelters when we feel they are at risk of being euthanized. This is a resource I will reuse.      I was so worried about finding Cas a new home when it became clear that he no longer tolerated our other dogs. We spent the better part of a year looking for just the right fit. His new family drove four hours to meet him, and as soon as Cas and their 10 year old son met, I knew we'd found the right people. They had recently lost their Boxer and the son was heartbroken. I was able to send them home with Cas. I get to see great pictures and updates from his new family, so I know he's doing amazing! I never would have been able to make this connection without Rescue Me, thank you for offering this service!

     Caesar found the most amazing forever family through Rescue Me! He knew immediately when the family arrived to visit, that he had hit the doggie jackpot with a loving family of four teens to play with. Caesar greeted them with slobbery kisses, jumped for joy over his new teenage boy, played fetch and showed off best he could. After some play time and bonding time, he eagerly jumped into the back of their SUV to make the journey into the hearts of another family that could give him the attention and care he deserved.      We saved Tyson two years ago from being surrendered to the local humane society. When we took him in, we had no idea he had so many social anxiety issues. Tyson was not socialized at all and was very, very submissive/afraid of everyone. We kept Tyson and worked very hard these past two years to train him and teach him that not all people mistreat animals. He came such a long way in the two years that we had him and is so sweet. The only problem was our house was too busy for him given that we have four kids and lots of traffic in the house, which still makes him a little anxious. I had several families inquire in the past year and was not able to find the perfect match... Until yesterday. Tyson was adopted by a single person who has lots of time to spend with him to continue to teach and nurture. As much as he is missed, we understand that he will thrive in his new forever home. We are grateful for Rescue Me's helping us find the right match for this deserving, loving, boy. Tyson... HUGS!

     I just wanted to share my experience with Rescue Me. We have been looking for a new Boxer for several months and after reading Ivy's story, my husband and I took the steps to adopt her. Although she has a tumor, which will be removed next week, the Cleveland APL did a fantastic job of getting the funds for this operation and even allowed us to bring her home awaiting the surgery date. Yesterday, Ivy spent her first day in her forever home. She is such a wonderful dog and so far getting along pretty well with my other two dogs. After surgery, she will be trained to the invisible fence so she came roam our yard in the country with our boys. Again, I want to say thanks Jeff for starting this site.. So many wonderful dogs to adopt!

     Mischief was adopted by a young lady needing a companion dog. Her new owner suffers from PTSD, and Mischief will be trained for that purpose. By using this site, I was able to find the best home for my rescue puppy, within hours of the posting. Rescue dogs and puppies come with their own sets of baggage (abused, starving, neglected, many with physical health issues) and the potential adopters this site attracts, understand this.      Jack found a place where he is needed. Jack is going to be a service dog. Jack was very well trained, so we had five people interested in adopting him within the first week. We made him a Facebook page, so people could see more of his pictures and a video of him going through his routine, sitting, down, heeling, wait, etc., all off leash. He was professionally trained in a local prison program. He seemed pleased with his new family. The video was the key to getting offers for him. I am very sad to see him go, but there was no choice in the matter. Jack was very attentive and affectionate. Most of the people who responded to our Rescue Me post had a need for his healing ways. I am so pleased I was able to find a home for him.

     My Marley will be missed. He was well loved and pampered family pooch. It was necessary to part with him because of allergies and asthma that left a grandchild very ill. I received a call the morning after posting Marley on Rescue Me from a gentleman farmer and his wife. Marley looked like their dog who died recently of a blood disease. They visited within three days and took him with them to his forever home. He now lives on a farm and runs free. There are horses, deer, wild turkeys and cattle on the land. Marley is happy. Although sad that we no longer have him, we are happy for his new lifestyle. Thank you Lord and thank you Rescue Me for all you do! We are forever grateful.

     One week after I posted Dominic, aka Dom, a Boxer mix, on Rescue Me, he found the perfect forever home! Dom has a new brother, another Boxer, which he already loves and plays with constantly. They have a nice outdoor fenced area to play in, but they are indoor dogs that get to sleep in the bed with their caretakers. They get to enjoy long walks, car rides, shopping, good food and vet care. Dom had presents waiting for him and a new bed. When we left, he went shopping and picked out some new toys.      We had two Boxers at the beginning of this year. In June our beloved Boxer, Bubba, had spleen cancer and passed away very suddenly. We didn't even realize he was ill. Our beloved Katie started having seizures. She had 15 in a very close amount of time. We soon found out that she also had cancer. We had decided at that time to wait a little while before we wanted to get another dog. But I was looking on Rescue Me and saw this beautiful Boxer that looked like our Katie. Her description sounded like our Katie, then I noticed her name was also Katie. I told my husband and we both said it sounds like we're getting another dog. We contacted the owner made arrangements to drive to meet her and fell in love with her right away. Her previous owner was very sad you have to let her go, but knew her situation wasn't the best for Katie and she wanted to make sure she had a good home. I appreciate very much your sacrifice and thank her for the gift that she is given us in this precious dog. And, I thank you also Rescue Me for allowing the opportunity for us to discover this beautiful new addition to our lives.

     Thanks to Rescue Me, we were able to find our son's dog, Thor, a wonderful home. Without Rescue Me, he would have rotted in a shelter. It would have been hard to get him adopted because of his size. Rescue Me was able to get him the exposure that he needed. We were able to find him a home two hours away.      Our boxer was a typical boxer needing attention and extra love. We had all the love, but our attention to him was getting tight and was only going to get tighter with another child on the way. We still didn't have our fenced yard and daily walks are now few and far between. We debated whether to put him on a web site and taking him to a shelter was out of the question. We contacted multiple different rescue groups, but all of them were for dogs that had been abused and there was a waiting list for 'rehoming' a dog. We went to Petco and asked where they received their cats from and they said Rescue Me and we found out that they also rehomed dogs. The website was very simple to use and actually had information on rehoming dogs. So many other rescue sites had no information on rehoming happy, healthy dogs. We thought we would try it. Within 12 hours someone was interested in our sweet Bo Duke. I ended up talking to her throughout the whole day, sharing boxer stories and Facebook profiles. Come to find out that she and her husband have had boxers a very long time. Their lifestyle and their other boxer sounded perfect for our Bo. We ended up meeting and letting our dogs meet and they were perfect for each other! The moment was bittersweet because we were going to miss our sweet Bo, but I knew that he would be so happy and much more content with his new family.

     Reese came to live with us about 24 hours ago and we all couldn't be happier. We found Benny, our precious, gorgeous pure-breed Boston Terrier on Rescue Me last December. We couldn't 'out walk' his energy so finally decided he needed a friend. The first try was a disaster. I'd ready fallen in love with Petey, it was harder for me than either of them. But after the first day, Benny wanted nothing to do with him, and they became aggressive toward one another. Precious Reese is truly a gift. He is so mellow, yet ready to play at the drop of a hat. Reese has been respectful of the cat, and of Benny, from the very first moment she came in the door. And oh, such a love! Reese is truly an answer to prayer -- PERFECT fit for our family! Thank you, Rescue Me for making this service of getting people and animals together that would never have met without you! (I wish I could post a pic of them sleeping here at my feet as I'm posting this).

     Tyko is my heart. I love him more than words can say. I am sick and need treatment but can't leave him alone and I have no help. I could never just put him in a pound. I rescued him as a baby from a drug ridden and violent home. I needed a loving home for him so I posted him on Rescue Me and two days later I got a call from a very loving mom with two wonderful kids who really want to adopt Tyko and give him a loving home. So Rescue Me saved me. Now I can get treatments and get well while Tyko is living a wonderful safe loving life. All thanks to God first and Rescue Me next. Thank you to both.
