Rescue Me ID: 16-06-11-00004SARABI (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Say hello to SARABI (pronounced like Wasabi)! She's now a member of the MustLuvBoxers Rescue family. She is our second-ever cropped-ear Boxer girl at MustLuvBoxers Rescue, and came to us after a shelter in Tacoma took her in when she was brought in as a stray. Sarabi is estimated to be around 6 years old. Sarabi is currently living with a foster mom, her young son, and a cat-We have found that Sarabi is great with children but has chased Hunter (the cat) when he runs from her, meaning potential adopters with cats need to make sure they are dog-savvy and are prepared to put some extra training and time in when integrating the two. Every ... (Read More)other aspect of Sarabi is very positive! She is great on leash, crates well (needs to be crated when alone in the home), comes when called, and rarely barks. She does not take food from, and respects the space of, her human foster brother; she also has not bothered the cat's food or litter box. Did we mention that she is terrible at fetch?! She loves to chase the ball but doesn't quite understand bringing it back. Since it has been warm in western Washington, she has enjoyed lying in the kiddy pool-but a traditional bath is not on her list of favorite things, although she will deal with it as long as there are cuddles afterwards. Sarabi loves people, is a typical Boxer lap-dog, and will make a great addition to a wide variety of homes. Sarabi is going to have surgery the week of July 4th to remove a small tumor near her private parts-so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! She will be ready for adoption following her recovery. Rescue Me ID: 16-06-07-00397BRUNO (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This hunky boy is St. Bruno 'BRUNO'! The St. is for Saint Bernard. He is a Boxer-boy with 1/3 Saint Bernard. His face and parts of his body must be from his daddy, otherwise he is 100% BOXER - 'stinker and lover'!! Bruno just turned a year old on May 21, 2016; he has the funniest expressions, and will wow you with his flashy eyebrows. Bruno loves to play and is very good at it. He knows how to sit, stay, lay down, fetch, and shake with 'both paws'. Bruno is smart and knows a lot of voice commands. Sometimes he can be insecure if he doesn't have guidance and boundaries. He tries hard to please, has good intentions, and follows instructions. ... (Read More)Bruno is good on a leash and likes to meet and greet friends. In the past, Bruno was kept outside. He has now been taught how to enjoy and behave in the house. He is housebroken, crate trained, and recently has been sleeping in his own bed at night. Bruno likes to take a bath, brush his teeth, and loves the feel of a brush over his healthy coat. Bruno likes his foster fur-siblings and gets along great with them. He would do best though in a home without young children; older kids or dog-savvy kids would be okay. Bruno does require a lot of care and exercise in order to keep up his hygiene and handsomeness. We haven't been able to test Bruno with cats, however, he seems to like to chase squirrels and birds, so cats may or may not be okay. Bruno very much looks forward to meeting his new family. Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This pretty little girl didn't get the memo that she is a senior! Lexie is a beautiful 8 %BD year old Boxer who came to us as an owner surrender when family dynamics changed in her home. She's around 50 pounds, so pretty petite, and is a super love bug! Lexie loves spending time outside, running, jumping, and relaxing in the sun. She loves children, and gets along great with cats and other dogs, but does like to be in charge. She is, however, very much willing to work with her foster siblings in an appropriate manner. Lexie doesn't have the best manners on leash yet, but her awesome foster family is working with her everyday on that. ... (Read More)Lexie gets sad when her people leave the house and is so excited to see them when they come home. She'd just really rather be a part of all the action in her foster home, so she'll make a great companion for a family looking for a sweet Boxer-girl who simply wants to be with her humans. We think Lexie will fit in quite well in a variety of homes, so please let us know if you think she's the girl for you. Rescue Me ID: 16-06-04-00016TYLER (male)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please meet Tyler (formerly Til), who came to us from a local Washington shelter. Tyler is 6 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Tyler has spent the last couple of weeks with one of our trainers in order to assess his needs, as he came into the rescue with very little background information. We can tell he definitely needs work on his over-all manners and will do best in a home with previous Boxer experience. Tyler is a good boy; although he lacks social grace when interacting with other dogs, he is showing gradual improvement in minding his own business and learning to heed his handler's commands. It's ... (Read More)clear that he's had very little training, but he is showing great potential. Tyler will thrive as the only dog in his forever home and doesn't have to share his space with young children. This handsome boy basically needs a chance for a new start; one that will include consistency and training. Tyler has a nice personality. He just needs to learn that paying attention to his human will bring lots of reward. Up until now, there was insufficient or no incentive for behaving well, so he did what came naturally, which we can't blame him for. A skilled handler will be able to build on Tyler's food drive in order to re-direct and increase focus with positive reinforcement training. We will be enrolling him in obedience class to expedite this behavior remodeling. If you have boxer experience, the time and love to commit to this boy, we believe the payoff will be an awesome Boxer-boy companion. Let us know if you'd like to meet Tyler, by filling out an adoption application - http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag - and we'll be in touch to set something up. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-24-00013DAVEY (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We would like to reintroduce you to Davey, who has found his way back to the rescue, although due to no fault of his own. Davey's ideal forever home would have a submissive female or non-reactive dog; not an in-your-face kind of dog. Davey doesn't like to be challenged, but he does great otherwise with both male and female dogs, and is also good with kids. We don't know how he'd do with cats though, as he's not been introduced to any as of yet. He needs a family who will be committed to continuing his obedience training, on and off-leash, and one who has the time to take him on frequent walks and expose him to the big world out there. Davey ... (Read More)is around 3-4 years old, neutered, up-to-date on his vaccines, and crate-trained. He was found as an unwanted stray in California, which landed him in a shelter there. We were more than happy to bring this little guy to Washington to help him find his 'happily ever after'. He is actually a pretty small boy, weighing in around 50-55 pounds. Davey has a lot of Boxer energy, but is also very sweet. He is quite smart and very food motivated, so continuing his training will be a breeze for a dedicated family. Davey has very good manners in a car, loves toys, and will sneak in kisses whenever he can! This sweet, wiggly boy will make a great addition to the right family. Could that be you??     My Name is Jaycee, I am petite 9 years old fawn female boxer who is very well behaved and am pretty stuck in my ways (stubborn). I love to spend time voicing my opinion outside for the whole world to hear me and I sing with all the pretty siren music. My foster Mom says I am really skinny right now and she is doing her best to fatten me up. I have two foster sibblings and get along with both of them very well. I am potty trained, but do not like the kennel but i never get into anything when left home. I love car rides, and to just lay around, and get lots of love and rubs. Pa gives the best ear rubs and I am really Spoiled here. My energy ... Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Cancer

[Read About Natural Cancer Care] I have a white face, but I'm very young at heart. My foster parents and the vet think I'm about 7 to 8 years old. However, I keep surprising my foster parents when I run and bound around with happy energy! I don't recall any formal training or socialization during my puppyhood but I'm proof that you can teach an older dog new tricks. I know 'sit' and am learning 'wait' and 'shake' so far. I'm also learning to be more comfortable around other dogs and not feel a need to be on guard; although there are still times that I have issues with the other dogs in my foster home. I'm thinking I might do best if I were an ... (Read More)only dog. But wouldn't that be cool? I'd have YOU all to myself, and visa-versa!! See, I LOVE people! In fact, even though I love food too, if there are people around, I'd rather meet them and give them kisses than take a treat.I'm very grateful to MLBR for finding me and bringing me into the MLBR family. I'm so happy to be safe and secure, I smile all the time! As you know though, I do have some pretty serious health issues. The lumps and bumps I have are cancer and I also have bad dental disease. I did, however, get a couple of the bigger lumps removed recently and have recovered quite nicely. I take some medication that helps to not have accidents while I'm sleeping and it's been working great! Even though I had lost quite a bit of weight by the time I ended up in the shelter in California, I'm slowly putting on weight which is making me look and feel better.I don't mind sleeping in my crate, but I'm not too thrilled when my people leave me in there. If I were the only dog in my new home though, I'd do just fine 'out and about' while you're gone. By the way, I'm told I'm quite a sweetheart; oh, and I love to cuddle on the couch in the evenings.I don't know how much longer I'm going to be here but I'm sure going to make the best of every day! I have a ton of love left to give, so please don't underestimate me just because I'm an older gal. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00021DOLLY (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Dolly is an 8+ year old Boxer with the joie de vivre of a four-year-old. Dolly loves to go for walks around the neighborhood and curries affection from anyone she meets. She does well with with both male and female dogs, children, horses, and car rides. Whatever you're doing is what she wants to do! She is a flashy brindle butterball of affection and is eager to please. She can get offended with the antics of young/bratty dogs, and would love to chase any kitties she finds, so homes with those two types should be avoided. Dolly is crate-trained and will go into her crate happily. Dolly may have a predisposition for UTIs and she is on a ... (Read More)prescription diet to help alleviate this. Consequently, Dolly needs to have access to potty every four hours or so as the diet makes her drink a lot of water. She is a little stiff when she gets up, but she is both on a diet and taking a joint supplement so this concern should be ameliorated with time. Because she is so easy-going I would consider her a 'starter-boxer,' for someone interested in the breed but who has never had one before. She is truly the perfect ambassador for Boxers without all the rowdiness of the very young. Dolly would love to keep you company while you binge-watch your favorite shows, read that novel, or crochet that scarf and your lap will never be chilled with this sweet older gal around to warm it. Won't you consider Dolly to be your forever companion? Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00010TEDDY (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Teddy is a handsome, five year old, neutered fawn Boxer male. He is smart, sweet, and loves to cuddle. He gets along well with his fellow fosters who are also boxers and is very deferential to female dogs. He was unfortunately tied out his whole life before coming into rescue, and subsequently has some reactive behavior that we are working hard to help him overcome. He has difficulty reading other dogs' behaviors and postures because he likely had very little socialization with other dogs. His own body language comes across stronger than normal, which is not uncommon with dogs who are former tie-outs. Hence, the No Cats, Rats, Guinea Pigs, ... (Read More)Small Fluffy Things bulletin out on him. Teddy is learning to play and engage with other dogs within his foster environment, but dogs he encounters in the world outside of his home are still an exciting mystery to him. He is most comfortable around other boxer dogs. Anything outside of his six-foot fenced world is still very new to him, so he is eager and curious; it takes time and patience to remodel four years of tie-out behaviors. In addition, he is quite the strapping lad of a Boxer, and as such, is too strong to be considered safe in the hands of any but experienced Boxer handlers. Teddy has been going to obedience school since January and he is learning how to be the gentleman Boxer we know he can be. Thus far, he has come a very long way and continues to prove how bright and resilient a Boxer can be. That being said, he is a muscle that needs to be flexed. He will need continued and continuing training for a long time yet. He may never be a dog that gets to be off-leash. As with any muscle unused, his good behavior and learning will atrophy if he isn't worked with by a firm, fair, loving, patient and consistent caregiver. Teddy has a heart of gold and tries very hard to please. He is bright, honest, attentive and is learning to mind his own business. He is learning to ask and check in with his handler and to do it often. Teddy is a work in progress! Teddy enjoys playing with his foster friends, but ultimately he is more interested in being somebody's sweetheart. He wants to snuggle and bring toys and go and do whatever his human is doing. For all his rough-and-tumble good looks, Teddy is a total Mama's boy and just wants to be shown love and leadership by his human leader. If you are interested in adopting Teddy, please fill out an application - http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag https://static.wixstatic.com/media/66acd9_6dc0e665743e4ed4b05ef320652f1a8d.jpg/v1/fill/w_704,h_777,al_c,q_85/66acd9_6dc0e665743e4ed4b05ef320652f1a8d.jpg (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Maizey is a stunning 9 year old spayed brindle boxer. She comes to us as an owner surrender as they have come to the difficult decision that their home life is not what Maizey ultimately needs and want the remainder of her years with a family who can provide her everything that they can not. Maizey is housebroken (she can be alone without accidents up to 6 hours a day) and currently has access to a doggie door and a fully fenced yard. We feel this would be very beneficial for her to continue having free access or a home where her family is home to let her in and out during the day. She is very sweet, likes to please and true to her breed. ... (Read More)She is also very smart and knows several commands which she loves to perform. Maizey would do best with owners who are Boxer savvy and know the Boxer Breed. Maizey loves cats although she would like a home without other pups so her humans can focus all their extra attention on her. Maizey has a low grade heart murmur that does not cause her any issues. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

Boxer
lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
