Rescue Me ID: 17-12-10-00026DARLING BABY BOY (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

This darling little guy is the last puppy in his litter. He is approx 8.5wks old and weighs about 8lbs, and we expect him to be about 45lbs when full grown. His mama appears to be Staffy / Boxer, and maybe a bit of Heeler in the mix. He is very well socialized with other dogs, cats and children so some of each in the home would be ideal. The 485. adoption fee includes all 5 first year vaccines, microchip, deworming and neuter surgery. He must have a fenced backyard and because of his young age, he should not be left alone for more than 4-5hr intervals.

Biggs 4 years old White with Brindle Neutered Crate Trained Good on Leash Fostered in Eugene, OR Hey there, my name is Biggs and I'm kind of a 'Biggs Deal' if you know what I mean! Ha, just kidding-I am really just a sweet oaf of a guy looking for someone to love me forever. Let me tell you a little about myself, so we can see if I'll be packing my bags. I love people and I find 'best' friends quickly. I have several already and really love my foster grandma. I have liked all of the dogs I have met but really haven't found a need to wrestle, honestly I just don't get it! Not much of a toy guy either: however, I do play with my foster ... (Read More)brothers hamburger when I'm feeling spunky. We are working on my 'sit' and 'stay' which are both coming along nicely. A home without young kids might be ideal for me. I'm kind of an old soul (even though I am only 4) and am just not into all the hustle bustle little ones bring. Now, on to the good stuff-I LOVE food and who can blame me? I didn't always have a lot to eat out on the streets, where I was found. I'm making up for lost time! My favorite human food (and this is non-negotiable if you adopt me) is a tortilla. I get super excited when my foster mom gets them out: she says, I do a cute little dance while I am waiting. Another great thing about me is I sleep in my own bed right next to your's. This way we can be together but have our own space. I am such a gentleman in the morning too, I will wait until you wake up before I get out of my bed for breakfast. My ideal home will be one where I can maybe meander down the street with you (I'm great on leash BTW) for 15 minutes or so, then come in for a gulp of water and a rest at (or on) your feet! I won't be a hiking buddy if that is what you are after, my back legs are not up for that but I do like to see what is going on in the neighborhood. Oh, I almost forgot-I LOVE showers! Good hygiene is such a bonus to finding a home. I even lay down for you and actually prefer the loofah massage for my body wash time! Lastly, you need to know that I have itchy skin so we may need to bathe more than normal, and I am good at that so no worries, really!     I'M OLIVE! I'm a 1-year-old stunning brown-and-sable small pittie mix (around 40 lbs). I'm now in a foster home and doing my best to learn how to be a lady. I could use some manners to be sure. I'm quite the bossy girl and right now, want to be the only dog in the house. But besides that, I'm perfect! I love, love, love people. I could snuggle on the couch all day long, laying my head -- with my huge ears -- on your lap or leg. I will follow you around like I'm your shadow.     MEET MAXIE! This guy's middle name should be 'Happy'! Maxie Boy is a 3-year-old white-and-black 'pointer/boxer mix (paperwork may say pittie but he is not), and he has the best personality! He requires an active family or individual to be his human and understand he loves and protects his people. He's a bit shy with new people but he warms up quickly once he he realizes you are cool! Maxie can run and play for hours. He loves the water, and is smart as a whip. He will look you directly in the eye for direction and do as you ask as long as you are an alpha human. The respect factor comes into play with this amazing dog. He will bond with ... (Read More)his human(s) and you will be his 'people for life.' Maxie will thrive in an adult-only home situation and can live with a very submissive large breed female after slow, proper introductions. A fenced yard is needed because he is potty trained. He is also kennel-trained and does excellent in the home for periods of time. Maxie enjoys his walks on a leash and does great with an experienced dog person. Maxie also love car rides, loves to talk about the weather and the news, and loves, loves, loves, ice cream! He is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccines, and is ready for home. (Less)

Hi - I'm Tanner. I'm a very sad, 3-year-old red shepherd-boxer mix with beautiful eyes, who was saved from a shelter in California. I am a wonderful dog who needs a home. 'I was in a foster-to-adopt home and was doing great, until my fosters moved to a new home and confined me to the kitchen, and I didn't adjust well. So for now, I'm back in a kennel, waiting patiently for a second chance. I would love a couple or person who makes me their world, someone who can take me for walks, hikes, or someone who will simply hang out with me. I've waited for so long for a forever home. Can you foster or adopt me?

Animal ID: 17-079Scrappy (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Scrappy 5 Years old White Boxer/Bulldog Mix Big kid friendly Big dog friendly No little dogs, cats, chickens or pocket pets 80 pounds of love House and crate trained Basic obedience and leash skills Loves car rides Fostered in Astoria, OR Scrappy loves all people and doesn't think his size should matter. Especially, when his eighty pound body thinks you need some lap dog time. And boy-o-boy does he pour on the love and charm. He gives the best full on big tongue kisses. He is the perfect balance between his Boxer and his Bulldog heritage. He can lay down some mad zoomies and laze around in the next breathe with total abandon. One moment ... (Read More)he's wiggling across the room, the next he's sashaying down the hall with that bullish swagger. Scrappy was confined to the tiny space of a small crate for most of his life, so squeezing into a small lap is not a challenge for him. That coupled with his propensity for lap time is why we will not place him in a home with small children. He loves them so much and he might just sit on them and shower them with kisses, not knowing he's squishing them. He will carry the physical scars of confinement his entire life. It is remarkable he is still willing to crate at all. The pressure points from confinement are not likely to regrow hair. When he first came into rescue, last spring, he was pretty weak in the hindquarters from lack of exercise, but he has gained good muscle mass quickly. As such, he now really enjoys running and romping with the other dogs and is getting around easily. This guy is ready for the right furever family where size doesn't matter and one who can love him beyond measure, despite his scars. Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ebbie 5 Year's Old Reverse Brindle 66 lbs Fine with Older Children Crate Trained Fostered in Springfield, OR Hey all, my name is Ebbie (well, it's actually Ebony due to my shiny dark fur, but I prefer to be called Ebbie, because it's cute, like me). Prior to rescue I was bred-A LOT, probably too much-but now I am officially retired from motherhood. WHBR is making sure of that. Because of my past life, I am not very patient with male dogs. Females are alright as long as they don't want to be the one in charge. That is kind of my thing, I like being the queen. I feel like I have earned that right. I do have another fur girl here in my foster ... (Read More)home. She is a bit of a diva like me but we do coexist peacefully. During the day, all the people here leave and go off to work and school. I am content to hang out in my crate, snuggled in my nice soft blankets until they return. Mom says it's important for me to be in my crate because sometimes my manners aren't so good, and I don't wait to potty outside and on occasion I have eaten a slipper or two. When folks get home, Mom and Dad take me and the other girl for a nice long easy walk around the neighborhood. It helps get my energy out. I am super excited when the family returns for the evening as I have missed them so much. Sometimes we go to the place called school. It has a big field and that is where I am working on 'sit' and 'down-stays'. I am getting good at the sit! I am also working on 'wait' at the door and before I eat. As I said before, my manners need some polishing. Mom says I am much to pretty to be acting so wild! In the evenings, I LOVE to relax with the family. My absolute favorite thing is having my ears rubbed. My second favorite thing is a good rump-scratching! On the weekends we play a lot. I love to chase the ball but I can only do it for a little while because I have a very sweet, but also very short, snout and breathing can be hard when I exert myself. My family lets me run errands with them too and I love car rides, especially if they involve going to that really cool place that gives me that delicious treat called a puppicino'|YUM!!! If you are ready for a beauty like me in your life, you should fill out your application soon, I'm told folks are falling in love with me left and right. http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp (Less)

River is a good dog that is being bullied by a new one in our house. She's funny, sweet, smart, and just needs a home where there aren't any other dogs. I *think* she's okay with kids, but this new dog has made her more aggressive than I've ever seen her, so I don't want to say for certain. I DO know she LOVES NEW PEOPLE. She learns fairly quickly, loves peanut butter, and can curl up to be as small as a throw pillow when she wants. She's a pit-boxer mix, and I think that is influencing how the other humans in our house respond- she has never started any fights, but is always the one that gets yelled at and locked up when I'm not home. We're ... (Read More)at the point where she's stuck in my room unless the other dogs are in their own humans' rooms, so she spends way too much time cramped up. It's not fair to her. I can't afford to move, and I don't know anyone that can take her, so I hope you can. (Less)

Tyson III 3 years old 60 lbs ish Brindle with lots of white that's ticked House trained Great with teens, not well tested with younger children Likely best with female dogs but regardless proper slow/calm intros are a must Crate trained Cats are a work in progress-the right cat and the right situation...maybe Rides well in a car Basic obedience skills Wonderful on a lead They call me mellow yellow, but I'm also know as Tyson or Tyson III at WHBR. I'm happiest laying at your feet while you're working. Being in your space, near you, snuggling, and getting loves totally rocks my world. I adore my foster mom, and think my foster dad, and all ... (Read More)the teenagers comin' and goin' from the house are all pretty great too. Speaking of house-previously, I wasn't allowed indoors, it broke my heart not to be near my people. Now, I'm just so thankful to have everyone near me and a warm comfy bed to doze in. Mom says she is setting me up for success by not letting me have an unsupervised run of the house, until I've proven I'm well adjusted to indoor living. So, I sleep in my personal mini house (crate) when she's away or when everyone is sleeping. My mini house is decked out with a comfy bed-so, so dang different from the dirt and grass in the backyard. I get my zoomies on once in a while, but that only lasts about a minute max. Add in a few short walks during the week and we'll call it all good. I do well with my fur K9 siblings, but too much energy can startle me (dial it down, pls) especially, if we haven't yet been properly introduced. There are also felines here. Mom says if the cats are calm/dog savvy, and I'm well supervised we will may one day be good friends. There are these other things called chickens, ha! their yard is smaller than mine, but they have to stay outside :(. I don't pay them much mind, except to feel sorry for them-staying outside all the time. Mom says, I have excellent leash skills, a good stay, and I'm working hard on ignoring other animals when on a walk. She also thinks I'm pretty adaptable and that with time and proper guidance I could do okay in almost any home situation. Do you think we might be compatible? Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Frannie 1 Year Old White Female Natural Tail NO CRATE Deaf Fostered in Chinook, WA My name is Frannie and I am in search of my forever family. I am a very sweet girl, who is a tad shy until I am sure you will be kind to me; then out comes the charm. At a year old, I'm all about playing; however, I am past that 'crazy puppy' stage. My Kong and tennis balls are my keepin' busy favorites. Long walks with my foster siblings are the best! We go to a huge field where I can run 'zoomies'. I am very good about staying with my foster siblings and my foster parents let me run free, sorta. They always have a 20 foot lead attached to my collar ... (Read More)for safety, as I am deaf and long distance recall can be challenging. Car rides are the best, I usually lie down and take a nap. However, my foster parents are working on teaching me not to bark when I see people outside the car or at the gas attendant. I would do best with older children. I have a beautiful natural long tail and I love to wag it! My foster mom says, it feels like getting hit with a stick...she is kidding. But, seriously my tail wagging might not work around toddlers and young children, plus I cannot hear them if they are behind me. I am working hard and learning with my foster family. Using the dog door to go out for potty is pretty easy, unless it is raining. I must confess, I have piddled where I shouldn't because of the rain a couple times. The notion is beginning to sink in that rain or no rain, always go outside. There are always great Kathy cookies when I do it right, so the right things are the best things to do. My foster folks are the best and they are teaching me to trust people. Being deaf isn't easy and I'm just now learning hand signals. Previously, no one understood me and I definitely didn't understand them. In the few weeks I have been in my foster home, I've learn to respond to some hand commands, when I get it right I also get a cookie. I do not like a crate. I will chew on it until I hurt myself. I will bark, I will Howl, and I will do this until I have myself worked up into a state of anxiety. Foster mom says no crate. I get to be free in the house when my Foster parents are gone for a few hours. I will occasionally counter surf, but not always. If things that I like, aka human food is put away there are no issues. My foster siblings are there to keep me company and I follow their lead, they know exactly when everyone is coming home. I would love to have a family of my very own. It would be best if my new family had experience with deaf dogs. We require more understanding, work, and patience. We want to please you we just can't hear you. I was not shown much affection in my past life, so my new family needs to help me build confidence and understand it may take a little more time because of my lack of hearing. I cannot hear your happy voice so you'll want to make certain I can see your happy face. If you are a family with knowledge of deaf dogs and can see my potential, I will make you an amazing family member. Adoption Application bit.ly/WHBRadopt. (Less)

Every and each time, I will greet you with a lot of wiggles, promise. Please fill out an application and give me the home I'm seeking, the Adoption Application bit.ly/WHBRadopt. (Less)

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Serena White, splashes of fawn on her back, black nose, and a brown eyed girl 8 Years Old Pocket Boxer ~ 50 lbs Very well crate trained: expects a treat to enter Does great with dogs after proper intro Great uncrated too (she is scavenger so make sure things are put away) Basic obedience & great recall Cat untested Loves car rides and has a co-pilot license Great with teens (younger children untested) House trained and uses a dog door (can create a challenge when diapered) Fostered in Spokane, WA Serena's foster mom here, Serena is the most endearing lil' boxer I have ever encountered. We first fostered her six months ago and ... (Read More)fell in love, so when she need to come back into rescue we were glad to welcome her back and within two hours she just slipped back into our household routine. If she could make it happen she would subsist on belly rubs alone. She welcomes your touch and gladly snuggles in for a cuddle whenever you are ready. She'll shake your hand or give you a high five and when you've forgotten to give her a belly rub she'll gently tap your arm as a reminder. She greets you with wiggles and smiles and lights up each and every time you use her name or speak to her. Shockingly, this pintsized girl fits in with all three boxers in our pack and they are all huge and ill mannered in comparison. She has had a calming effect on each of them. Why was such an ideal pup returned to the rescue you ask. Her incontinence is not easily managed with meds and she requires diapers, which she rocks BTW, and has earned her the nick name Ms Piddle Pants. She does not soak her diaper, on the contrary if you are using a liner in the diaper she'll leave a few little spots from time-to-time. As long as you've been diligent in keeping her medication schedule. As a dog owner for over 40 yrs, I cannot image a quality home she would not fit within. She is wonderfully behaved (leaps and bounds above our dogs). She does as you ask (come, go, sit, shake, high-five, crate). She is very food motivated...she loves to eat, so if you want her to do something she doesn't know just offer her a treat. Adoption Application bit.ly/WHBRadopt (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
