Brindle Boxer treating with prosac per vet recommendation, still has anxeity issues. Travels in car excellently, leash trained, house broken, hates to be crated at night. Barks like a lunatic when left alone even for a moment. Would thrive in a situation as a companion for another dog. Trigger is great otherwise. We feel like hostages. We are 56 and 60. We rescued him 8 months ago and have provided Trigger as much as we can, but feel he needs more. Very loving young dog with separation anxiety. Has had 3 or 4 previous owners thus far in him young life. Have been told that he will not survive if we take him to a shelter due to his separation ... (Read More)issues. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-11-00216Daisy (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Darling Daisy! This 2ish yr old, 65lb beautiful, muscle-packed girl is the perfect athletic partner for rigorous hiking and running. She's also always up for a good jog or even a bike-ride. If there is only time to play in the backyard, she's perfectly happy playing LOTS of fetch. She needs to have a large, fenced backyard in which to run, stretch and roll in the grass... and having a like-size boy to play with would be ideal. She's a smart girl that learns very quickly... and she's always eager to please. After a good romp outside, she's always ready to come in and relax... and if she can get away with it... her favorite place to ... (Read More)lounge across your lap! Daisy is also very quiet and well mannered. She's fully house and crate trained, and she can remain home alone for a reasonable amount of hours. Although she gets along great with other dogs, cats are not an option for this girl... and kids must be over 10yrs old. (Less)

Personality: Average Energy

Sweet Sully! He's approx 5yrs old, maybe just a bit younger... and weighs about 45-50ish lbs. He's the perfect size medium dog for hiking, walking, car rides or just hanging out. He's an easy going guy that is perfect blend of: sometimes very affectionate and attentive... sometimes aloof and independent. Because he can be somewhat reserved, kids must be over 14yrs old. He's okay with polite dogs of like size and larger but absolutely no small dogs, cats or other critters for this adorable boy. He can be left home alone for a reasonable amount of hours and he must have a fenced backyard in which to run and play.

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Darling Denver! This 9mo old, 50lb boy is very sweet... and can't hear a thing! Yes, Denver is completely deaf. He doesn't let his hearing impairment affect him in any way because he loves to run through the yard with the other dogs or greet any person he meets. He's a very smart boy, too, and has learned quite a few hand signals quickly. He completed a 6wk training course during which he was even the star pupil! Denver is a very sweet, active boy that loves to run, jog, hike, play in the water and go on car rides... or anything else that has to do with outdoor activities. Although he gets along great with other dogs, he does get a ... (Read More)bit jealous when in the home with some so he must have an experienced owner. He's quite adorable and he's had lots of interest, but he is a special needs boy so he must have an owner that understands and is experienced with hearing impaired dogs. He's such an awesome puppy.... just looking for that special person that will continue helping him become the well trained, wonderful adult dog he is meant to be. Boxer Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Baby Girl was the beloved pet of an elderly couple, who simply took in too many needy dogs, and found themselves unable to properly care for the pack. Baby Girl is a 9 year old mixed breed, weighs about 40 pounds, loves getting hugs and snuggles. She gets along with most dogs. She has a medical condition (hip dysplasia) that restricts her activity somewhat. She still loves going for walks and keeps a close eye on the marauding squirrels that attempt to enter the yard :) Baby Girl is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and microchipped.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
