Rescue Me ID: 16-08-27-00336Gypsy (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Gypsy is a 1-2 year old pretty white Boxer, she may have a little mix in her, but its not for certain. She is a little shy when she meets new people and takes a while to trust, but when she does she opens up nicely. Gypsy has a typical high energy Boxer personality full of rubber and springs and would be great in a home with a big back yard to run off that steam or go running with her owner. She is house and crate trained and gets along well with other dogs and can be very enthusiastic just like a typical play hard Boxer! Gypsy is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines and heart worm preventatives. She is currently being cared for in ... (Read More)Texas and once adopted can be transported to the NW. Transport and required health certificate are included in her adoption fee. Please email for more information and an adoption application. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-20-00159  (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Layla is a loving 1 to 1 1/2 yr old boxer mix pup. She was a shelter favorite at a shelter in TX. The rescue coordinator begged me to save her. I found her a rescue in Oregon but they stuck her with a foster whose husband is abusive and continues to threaten to dump her at the shelter. So I am taking her on. I need a committed foster in the Seattle area or an adopter. Fostering to potentially adopt is a great way to test compatibility and if it's not a match you simply just continue fostering until a permanent home is found. Once we find her a place to go up here, we can transport her up from Prineville, OR. Here is what her foster says ... (Read More)about her: 'From her foster: 'She is very smart, learns quickly. Knows stay, sit, come, down.. Potty trained and when ready to go 'outside to potty', she goes right to the screen, sits and waits for her leash. She still likes to run off if you're not careful. So she is always on a leash outside, but is good on a leash. She is high energy, still a puppy.. Loves to chase, play tug of war with her ropes, still chews so has lots of stuff to play with.. She is a big love!! Loves to give kisses!!! Layla is a leg hugger and sometimes she'll kinda jump up on me when I'm sitting at the table and lay her head into my chest. Just love it!! She is a sweetheart!! Loves her treats. She is on heartworm preventative meds. She doesn't seem bothered by cats, but hasn't really had any interaction. Gets along great with my Dane and German Shepherd (who are inseparable play buddies)' (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Charlie is a 2 year old love bug that was rescued from the Mesquite Texas Animal Shelter by Desiderata Rescue. He will be coming to Seattle and is looking for a foster home or better yet a forever home! You can also foster to adopt, which is like a trial run. His foster in Texas adores him and sings his praises. He is submissive with other dogs and has no reaction to cats, even when they swat at him he doesn't do anything. He is crate trained, neutered, vaccinated and just an overall awesome dog. Because he is black and a pitbull he didn't stand a chance in the shelter, but we are so glad we saved this gem.

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

UPDATE 7/23/16: Roxie has now been in foster care for over two weeks, and we're are finding out what a delightful dog she is. She loves everyone! She greets new strangers as if they were her friend. She is a high-energy dog and would do well in a family of hikers and/or runners. She would also excel at Agility Training because this pup can turn on a dime! She races around the play yard, leaving the other dogs to wonder where all her energy comes from :) Ranger and his housemate Roxie were abandoned by their owners, left alone in a rented house, with a bowl of water and a pan of food. It's unknown how long they were in the house ... (Read More)alone. The Police were alerted and entered the premises, rescuing the two dogs. They are now in police custody, but really need to get out of that kennel and into a home of their own. Both dogs are thin, but otherwise appear to be healthy. We don't know much about them at this point, but have scheduled vet appointments for them in the near future. Both dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to placement. Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please join us in welcoming SAM, a 5-6 year old Boxer/Lab mix, to MustLuvBoxers Rescue. We were called upon to help Sam after he was found as a stray and picked up by a shelter in California. The staff fell in love with his sweet nature and neutral/non-reactive behavior toward all types of dogs, and worked diligently to get him into a foster-based rescue organization. Sam arrived in style in Bellingham, WA, via Pilots N Paws and MLBR is happy to have him with us! Sam is currently with one of our more experienced fosters who can help assess his conditions with respect to behavior and health. Early on he proved himself to be quite a crate ... (Read More)escape artist, but has since shown improvement with specific crate training. He is currently entering his crate easily (and staying put) and receives a treat for doing so. We think his previous escapes were purely opportunistic, but will be testing that theory in the coming days. Health points that his foster will be looking into include resolving a hematoma on one ear flap and flushing his very dirty ears'|all-too-common follow-up for a dog that's been on his own on the street for who knows how long. Sam does have numerous scrapes and scars on his legs, but if they were caused by run-ins with other other dogs, Sam appears to be none the worse for wear, as his friendly and outgoing personality remains intact. So far, he already walks well on leash, is very neutral to small and large dogs, loves to sleep on his bed or on the couch, and is always there to give you kisses. He does not react to children noises or other dog noises on other side of wooden fence at his foster home (neighbor does daycare for pre-school age kids). All in all, he's a great, loving dog. Very responsive, very attentive. Very food-oriented = VERY good!!! Sam is not quite ready for adoption just yet, as he is still under evaluation, as is usual procedure for our rescue program. Please check back regularly or message our inbox to get updates on his current status. However, if you are already thinking Sam might be the boy for you, please let us know by filling out an adoption application, which you can find here: http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag (Less)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hey there, my name is RONIN! I'm around 5 years old and a Washington native. MustLuvBoxers Rescue took me in after I rushed a small breed dog on leash and the apartment manager required my previous owners to surrender me instead of allowing my owners to hire a professional to work with me. I've been working with MLBR's Vice President and Behaviorist to improve my leash manors and general focus around other dogs; I've learned so much already. I respond very well to calm and assertive leadership and hope to find a forever home that can continue the work already put into improving my behavior. Speaking of improvements, I have developed a ... (Read More)wide-range of commands that I know like the back of my paw, including sit, down, on your bed, kennel, shush, and shake! I am also crate and potty trained. I'm not dog aggressive, even though originally it was my excited temperament that led me to be surrendered. I would do great in a home with another female dog and a large yard where my physical energy needs can be met. I am such a good learner who wants to work and be well behaved; all of the time and effort put into me by my future forever family will be paid back with a lifetime of love and loyalty. If you think I'd be a good fit for your family, please fill out an adoption application to let the rescue know you're interested in me - http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag (Less)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Say hello to SARABI (pronounced like Wasabi)! She's now a member of the MustLuvBoxers Rescue family. She is our second-ever cropped-ear Boxer girl at MustLuvBoxers Rescue, and came to us after a shelter in Tacoma took her in when she was brought in as a stray. Sarabi is estimated to be around 6 years old. Sarabi is currently living with a foster mom, her young son, and a cat-We have found that Sarabi is great with children but has chased Hunter (the cat) when he runs from her, meaning potential adopters with cats need to make sure they are dog-savvy and are prepared to put some extra training and time in when integrating the two. Every ... (Read More)other aspect of Sarabi is very positive! She is great on leash, crates well (needs to be crated when alone in the home), comes when called, and rarely barks. She does not take food from, and respects the space of, her human foster brother; she also has not bothered the cat's food or litter box. Did we mention that she is terrible at fetch?! She loves to chase the ball but doesn't quite understand bringing it back. Since it has been warm in western Washington, she has enjoyed lying in the kiddy pool-but a traditional bath is not on her list of favorite things, although she will deal with it as long as there are cuddles afterwards. Sarabi loves people, is a typical Boxer lap-dog, and will make a great addition to a wide variety of homes. Sarabi is going to have surgery the week of July 4th to remove a small tumor near her private parts-so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! She will be ready for adoption following her recovery. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out and send in an application, which you can find here: http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag (Less)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This pretty little girl didn't get the memo that she is a senior! Lexie is a beautiful 8 year old Boxer who came to us as an owner surrender when family dynamics changed in her home. She's around 50 pounds, so pretty petite, and is a super love bug! Lexie loves spending time outside, running, jumping, and relaxing in the sun. She loves children, and gets along great with cats and other dogs, but does like to be in charge. She is, however, very much willing to work with her foster siblings in an appropriate manner. Lexie doesn't have the best manners on leash yet, but her awesome foster family is working with her everyday on that. Lexie ... (Read More)gets sad when her people leave the house and is so excited to see them when they come home. She'd just really rather be a part of all the action in her foster home, so she'll make a great companion for a family looking for a sweet Boxer-girl who simply wants to be with her humans. Rescue Me ID: 16-06-04-00016TYLER (male)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please meet Tyler (formerly Til), who came to us from a local Washington shelter. Tyler is 6 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Tyler has spent the last couple of weeks with one of our trainers in order to assess his needs, as he came into the rescue with very little background information. We can tell he definitely needs work on his over-all manners and will do best in a home with previous Boxer experience. Tyler is a good boy; although he lacks social grace when interacting with other dogs, he is showing gradual improvement in minding his own business and learning to heed his handler's commands. It's ... (Read More)clear that he's had very little training, but he is showing great potential. Tyler will thrive as the only dog in his forever home and doesn't have to share his space with young children. This handsome boy basically needs a chance for a new start; one that will include consistency and training. Tyler has a nice personality. He just needs to learn that paying attention to his human will bring lots of reward. Up until now, there was insufficient or no incentive for behaving well, so he did what came naturally, which we can't blame him for. A skilled handler will be able to build on Tyler's food drive in order to re-direct and increase focus with positive reinforcement training. We will be enrolling him in obedience class to expedite this behavior remodeling. If you have boxer experience, the time and love to commit to this boy, we believe the payoff will be an awesome Boxer-boy companion. Let us know if you'd like to meet Tyler, by filling out an adoption application - http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag - and we'll be in touch to set something up. (Less)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We would like to reintroduce you to DAVEY, who has found his way back to the rescue, although due to no fault of his own. Davey's ideal forever home would have a submissive female or non-reactive dog; not an in-your-face kind of dog. Davey doesn't like to be challenged, but he does great otherwise with both male and female dogs, and is also good with kids. We don't know how he'd do with cats though, as he's not been introduced to any as of yet. He needs a family who will be committed to continuing his obedience training, on and off-leash, and one who has the time to take him on frequent walks and expose him to the big world out there. Davey ... (Read More)is around 3-4 years old, neutered, up-to-date on his vaccines, and crate-trained. He was found as an unwanted stray in California, which landed him in a shelter there. We were more than happy to bring this little guy to Washington to help him find his 'happily ever after'. He is actually a pretty small boy, weighing in around 50-55 pounds. Davey has a lot of Boxer energy, but is also very sweet. He is quite smart and very food motivated, so continuing his training will be a breeze for a dedicated family. Davey has very good manners in a car, loves toys, and will sneak in kisses whenever he can! This sweet, wiggly boy will make a great addition to the right family. Could that be you?? PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

Boxer
lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
