Animal ID: 17-094Serena (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Serena White, splashes of fawn on her back, black nose, brown eyed girl 8 Years Old (age from shelter, may be younger--acts younger) Pocket Boxer came into rescue at 35 lbs, now 40 lbs, likely shouldn't be heavier than 48-50 lbs (needs both muscle and fat on her frame) Very well crate trained, needs a treat to enter, but then snuggles in for the day if need be Great uncrated too, doesn't require supervision or get concerned when left alone--however, gives ya fantastic wiggles when you return Basic obedience (sit, down, shakes, stay) great recall, we may learn more from her as time goes on. We haven't yet gone for a walk. Cat untested ... (Read More)(we have a 19 yr old cat) we may try them out together Children untested (she is so gentle) I expect her to do well with dog savvy children House trained (working on how to use dog door) Fostered in Spokane, WA Serena is--Serene serene srn/ adjective 1.calm, peaceful, and untroubled; tranquil. Serena's foster mom here, Serena is the most endearing lil' boxer I have ever encountered. She arrived at the beginning of her bout with kennel cough. Poor dear, it took a great deal outa her. We are very happy that she is as resilient as she is sweet. Shockingly, this pintsized girl has fit in with all three boxers in our pack and they are all twice her size, and not normally tolerated by all--too exuberant for polite company, but she has had a calming effect on all. It is obvious Serena has had pups in the past, how many or how often we can only guess. Not so obvious, she has suffered some physical trauma. Her lower jaw may have been broken and not reset or not reset well. She also has a small depression in her skull above her left eye, you may be able to see it in some of her photos. None of these historic issues seem to hamper her in any way. It will be a short time before she is ready for her spay and then a even shorter time before she is ready for her furever home. The adoption process takes time too. There is the required application https://www.wigglinhomeboxerrescue.org/adoption-application/ to start the ball rolling. Then comes the reference checks, the home inspection, and then meet and greet. If all goes well, you and she may be ready to begin your happily ever after at the same time. As a dog owner for over 40 yrs, I cannot image a quality home she would not fit within (Less)

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Leila Flashy fawn with black mask 7.5 Years Old Fostered in Eugene, OR Great with children ages 4 and up Good with dogs Good with cats Pretty good with chickens My name is Leila. I am what you would call a tall and curvy mature female. Take a look at my pictures, and there is no denying how striking I am with all my flashy white, wishbone muzzle, and black ringed dark eyes. As much as my people love me, I love them right back. As for the other animals here, well, I tolerate them. I currently live with another Boxer, two cats, and five chickens, as well as a house full of humans including two children ages four and eight. The person ... (Read More)I love the most is my foster dad. When he is away, I will pine at the door until he gets back. During the day, I wait patiently in my crate for my family to come home from work and school. In the evening, I would rather play with the humans than the other dog. Once, while playing outside, I caught one of the chickens with my paw, but dad said to let it go so I did. I really didn't know what to do with it anyway. At night, I love to snuggle with a human to sleep. I follow directions really well and love to please my people. So, that is me in a nutshell. I'm just hanging out until my forever family comes to take me home. If that's you, please fill out an application today! http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Scrappy 2 Years Old Fostered in Hood River, OR Hey guys & gals - Scrappy is in the house! Everyone knows when the majorly cool, 80 lb. dude arrives. I've had to survive a lot in my life and the outside of my body carries many scars but my inside is a giant puddle of love! I love everybody and because I'm Boxer/Old English Bulldog mix, all that love just oozes out my jowls. People say I should come with a bib. That also applies to the water bowl & food dish. My theory is I'm not sloppy just generous. I share my stuff all over the place. I've got a bunch of dog buddies at my current pad, both male and female, and they're all A-OK with me. ... (Read More)I do 120 lb. dogs and 5 lb. dogs and everything in between. I'm way too chill to be worried about other dogs. My current folks think I'm so cool they've even given me extra names like - Goofy, Hooch, Doofus, Goober. Are you getting the picture?? I'm not much on playing or exercise. Give me a couple leisurely strolls around the yard or around the block and that's peachy with me. Hiking trails and jogging paths are definitely not on my 'to do list'. I'm also a wonderful supervisor - I'll happily lay around and make sure you get things done properly (unless I doze off, of course). And when the work is done, I'll be your snuggle buddy on the couch for as long as you want. I'm also a great conversationalist with a large vocabulary - whimpers, purrs, whines, snuffles, yawns, grumbles, mini howls, sneezes and deep rumbles. There is one secret I need to share - Mom says I have a strong prey drive. When I see a squirrel, cat, rabbit or chickens (even in a cage) I go from Clark Kent to Superman in 10 seconds so dogs are my best bet for home companions! A note from foster Mom: Scrappy is the biggest goofball around. He is a quirky, bumbling, adorable big guy with a huge personality who will make you laugh til you cry and give you his heart with no reservations. He's house, crate, and leash trained, loves car rides. This Goofy guy will fill your day with joy!! Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dita 1.5 Years Old Plott Hound/Boxer Fostered in Hood River, OR Hi, I'm Dita and I'm only 1.5 yrs old and when I came to WHBR, I had my three five month old puppies with me. I was a very good mom even though I was really young. All that is behind me now and I'm moving ahead with my life - and I do mean moving. I am a girl on the go - walks, hikes, zoomies, Boxer play, car rides, zoomies, exploring new places, and did I mention zoomies? I'm getting interested in these things called toys and this game they call 'fetch'. I love chasing the ball, bringing it back - not so much! Speaking of chasing, I haven't been around cats, but mom ... (Read More)says I'm way too eager to catch the squirrels, I scared the bunny and chickens even though they were in their pens and I thought the horse was a really big dog and wanted to either play with it or chase it. The horse thing got straightened out when he stomped his feet and snorted at me but if he'd run - the chase would have been on. So, I don't think I'd make a good farm dog, but it would be awesome to have some dog siblings. I want to play, play, play!! My favorite playmate here is a 120 lb. Pyrenees so don't worry about my size - I can play with the big boys, and I get along fine with Chihuahuas and other minis too. I'm also an excellent snuggler. If you've got a lap - I'm your girl. After a few belly rubs, I'm snoozing away. I love people - men, women, and kids. I don't know what a stranger is! In fact, I'd love to meet you. If you're reading this, you must be looking for a dog to join your family. Well, it just so happens I'm looking for a family to join. Let's get together!! A word from Dita's foster mom: Dita is an amazing little girl! She has personality plus and her energy is contagious. She's house and crate trained and walks pretty well on a leash. She's still young and has not had much training but she now sits, is working on stay and is learning how to be patient. She is very smart and would shine in obedience classes. With her energy, she'd also do well in agility training or as a running partner! Animal ID: 17-084Kyah (female)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kyah 2 years old Fawn with black mask House and crate trained Ok with dogs and kids Fostered in Springfield, OR Hiyah, I'm Kyah!! I have been through the trenches and have the scars to prove it, but those are just what's on the outside. I am actually a sweet and tender little girl. In my old life, I was used as a breeder. That means I had lots and lots of babies, and they always went away, which made me real sad. And then my human died, and that made me even sadder. That's when the good folks at Wigglin' Home Boxer Rescue stepped in. I got spayed, so no more babies, then headed off to this new place called a foster home. I like my ... (Read More)foster home. There is a mom and a dad, I like them both; and the kids, a teenager and two tweens. I like them all, but I especially like to lie next to them with them when they are reading. There is also a young woman here with whom I like to snuggle and sleep at night. I have a foster brother that is a Boxer like me, and we get along real well. Mom says we are both mouthy, I think that means loud. I also have a foster sister that is twice the size of me, but I have her number. One look from me and she melts. She knows I am the boss, even though I have not been here as long as she has, and that makes me happy. I love to chase sticks and balls. Mom and Dad get real happy when I bring them back. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Mom puts this thing on me called a leash and I don't like it much. Dad is trying to teach me things like sit and down. I am working on that. While my people go to work and school, I hang out in my crate but I don't really need too. Mom says it is to keep safe so I do. Just so you know, I really don't like going outside much, unless it is to play. When my people tell me to go out to potty, I just stay put pretending I didn't hear, but they are pretty insistent and help me outside. They throw the ball a few times and once I start moving, I will go, and then I get to come back inside. I am afraid they will leave me out there and I really do prefer that does not happen. Anyways, I am looking for my forever home and if you think you are just the person for me, fill out your application today. I will be here waiting. Kyah's foster mom here. This girl is real gem. She came into foster care very sad and depressed, but really has started to come out of her shell. It is a joy to watch her interact with our kids and our dogs. She doesn't like going outside, but has yet to have an accident in the house. We are working on obedience training. She isn't treat motivated, but loves praise. She is a calm and laid back girl, who is happy to just hang out on the couch and binge watch the newest season of Walking Dead or Jane the Virgin. What a fun addition she will be to any home! Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Trace 6 Years Old Fostered in Junction City, OR Hello, my name is Trace and I'm ready for my forever family. I'm a chill sorta' guy. Don't misunderstand, I love to play with my fur foster sister, but taking a nap is always a great idea. As long as my people are close, I enjoy being outside sunning. I'm fully willing to watch you tackle the yard work and give you a heads-up when I hear something you might want to attend to. Exploring is a lot of fun, but I haven't been able to go very far just yet. You see my leg was injured and I've been healing. Chasing my fur sister around the backyard, snuggling together, and even sharing my food, are ... (Read More)all great traits of a good dog according to my mom. Mom does say that it is bad manners though when I borrow her bone right out of her mouth when she isn't paying attention. I might be chill, but I can move fast when I want to. Car rides are great. I might need a little help getting into the car until my injury is all healed, and I make a great co-pilot. I'll even bark if someone starts tailgating us. I sleep quietly in my crate at night until my foster mom lets me out in the morning. Hi, it's Trace's foster mom here, he is an old sweet soul. He is treat and praise motivated. He wants to be close to you, whether it's beside you with his head on your lap or curled up at your feet. He waits to be invited onto the furniture and will wait until you are first through the doorway. He loves everyone he meets, including fur dog friends. Trace is a special pup, if you would like to add him to your family please fill out an adoption application. Animal ID: 17-078Rey (male)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Rey 9 Years Old (approximately) Good with other dogs Good with cats Crate Trained Fostered in Lacey, WA Rey came into rescue severely emaciated and suffering severe arthritis in both hind legs. It is so surprising that while in the midst of pain, hunger, and fear, he has remained so gentle and loving. His medical issues have kept him more subdued, so we aren't seeing his complete personality, yet. We are seeing more and more of it emerge daily. Rey is very exuberant when his food is being prepared and is a very enthusiastic eater! At this week's weigh in, he had gained three more pounds and in a few weeks, hopefully, our vets will be ... (Read More)able to do a more thorough evaluation of his medical needs. In the meantime, Rey is just so sweet and lovable. His fur is soft and shiny and he loves to be petted and scratched. Kitties seem to mystify him, but he has shown no out of the ordinary interest in them. We have two female Boxers, whom he gets along very well with. He pays very little attention to dogs on either side of our fenced yard. Until he gets a bit more meat on this bones, his world consists of restricted activity (to conserve calories), with breaks to lay in the sun on the warm grass and frequent small meals. He is a sweet trusting boy with just a tad of that Boxer stubbornness showing. He will have special healthcare needs for the rest of his life so a quiet home where he will not be alone for long periods will be mandatory. Rey will not be ready to leave foster care for a least another six weeks. He has healing to do and still still medical needs (hopefully just a neuter) to tackle in the near future. Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Juno & Rocket (Bonded Pair) 7 Years Old Female (Juno) 9 Years Old Male (Rocket) Good with dogs of all sizes Good with cats Fostered in Bend, OR We were adopted in the middle of winter, last November (2016). We love our family and they love us. During the winter we didn't get much interaction with the chickens. However, as the winter faded into spring, we began to realize that chicken would likely be tasty. We discovered it was very good. Sadly, this just won't work. We need a chicken free zone. We're lovable snuggle bugs who provide lots of luv, we're twice the luv than one dog. We are mature, so no puppy issues to deal with ... (Read More)like--chewing, house training or crate training, and when you aren't around we have each other. Below we've provide their pervious Bio. Previous Bio: What does a bonded pair mean? It means we are stuck at the hip, dynamic duo, double cuddles, and of course we will be adopted out as a pair. It also means we are each other's playmate, blanket, treat stealer, and wing man. When I think of 8.5 yo Rocket I think of Mr.Snuffleupagus from Sesame street. Sweet, goofy guy who doesn't want to get in anyone's way and wants to get along. House trained, walks well on a leash, and crate trained. He normally sleeps in his designated area outside a crate. His sister 6.5 yo Miss Juno is a little more cautious than him-- just think a less boisterous Miss Piggy, but with all her sassiness that is understated. She is amazingly sweet, good at fitting in, blending, and making you wonder when she wasn't in your life. She is also house trained, walks well on a leash, and crate trained. A space/room of her own would make her feel more secure in a new area. Adopting these two will guarantee immediate happiness, joyful, laughs, snorting, and lots of family fun time. These two are so easy going and can be around all shapes and sizes of humans and animals. They love to run, play, and sleep. They would both be an amazing addition/completion to someone's family, including little humans and other fur family of all sizes. Think of them as a KitKat--why just eat one bar when you have can two? If you feel like you could offer them the home they deserve we would love to consider you for their forever family. Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lola 5 Years Old Housebroken Dog selective--her preference is for chill, middle aged males No cats Fostered in Chinook, WA On March 21, 2017 I was found on a remote country road in the eastern part of Washington. I was walking alongside the road and was extremely emaciated, dehydrated, and had many large open sores all over my body, especially on all my pressure points. My legs and belly were stained, most likely from being kept in a cage. The good humans that saw me, immediately stopped their car. They said with the little strength I had, I jumped right in their vehicle. They took me to their farm and immediately gave me water, food, ... (Read More)and addressed my most urgent medical needs. They were concerned I didn't have the strength to make it through the night. But I was a fighter and just knew there would be a better life ahead. My picture was posted on many social media sites trying to locate my owners. I was taken to a vet where they found out that I was not microchipped. The kind people that found me helped for the next two weeks. They knew about Wigglin' Home Boxer Rescue, and contacted them to help me on my journey to a better life. I have been with my foster family for about three weeks now. They call me Lola. My foster mom likes to call me Lola Falana, I like it a lot. She says it's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl! I always give her a little kiss when she says that. I never knew humans could be so kind. I live with two fur foster brothers and a fur sister. They have been very nice. They even showed me how to play with toys. I really like the ones that squeak. They let me sleep on their beds. I just thought it would be best if I slept on the bare floor. My foster family really wanted me to try one of those soft comfy beds. When I finally did, WOW!! That is mighty nice! I am quickly starting to love this new life. I love to go for car rides. You should also know that I am a bit of a 'Houdini' . My foster parents would like me to ride in the back with my siblings and I do, but if they leave us in the car, I can always manage to wiggle my way into the front seat. I just want to be the first to greet them with wiggles and kisses! We all get to go to a place they call 'the field' where I don't have to be on a leash. It's a heavenly place for dogs to run and sniff. I am not much of a runner, but boy do I love to sniff! My foster mom got surprised because one minute I was just sniffing and then she turned around and I had rolled in stinky bear poo! I don't think she was happy. It was so fun and I smelled SOOO good until I got home and had a long soapy bath. I walk pretty darn good on the leash. If I pull, they just remind me that good dogs do not pull. I want to be a good dog. I am loving this new life so much. I am very 'low key'. I don't need to run around much. I would rather just hang out with my humans. I love to snuggle. I love to be kissed and have belly rubs. I spent most of my old life in a crate. My foster mom only had me stay in it for the first two nights. She said I was too good not to be trusted to sleep on one of those cushy soft beds and use the dog door to go potty. I have never had an accident. I have stayed at home with my fur sibling at times and we all just nap. I don't like to be left at home, but if I have to stay home I never act naughty. I just wait for the moment my family returns. I would love a family of my very own. It is so nice to have food, water, a soft bed, and no crate. But the very best is all the love. If you believe that you are the family for me, then fill out your application today. http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp Bio https://www.facebook.com/pg/BoxerRescue/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1015885411876025 Available Boxers https://www.wigglinhomeboxerrescue.org/dogs/available-dogs/ (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

4-9-2017 *AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION** Prim is looking for her forever home! She is a Collie/Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix, about five years old. She has a very mild temperament and is very content to lounge around the house with you, but also loves her outdoor playtime. At night time, her favorite place to sleep is in bed with her foster mom'|even if she doesn't start out there, that is where she lands before morning! She enjoys playing with the dog in her foster home and has done will with other dogs that come to visit (with proper introductions, of course). Prim would enjoy the company of another friendly dog in the home, especially ... (Read More)one her size that would like to play with her. A home without cats would be best for Prim, as she isn't a huge fan of them. Prim needs a home with a fenced yard. Older kids that are kind to dogs should be fine; we really have not had the opportunity to see her interact with young children, but she really likes people. Prim is potty-trained and is described by her foster mom as 'very smart.' Prim can benefit from more practice on her leash, as she will pull. Prim is a very sweet, all around good dog that has enough energy for an active person but also appreciates couch-potato time! For more information about Prim, please email Leah at leahrotella@comcast.net or Terry at luckydog115@gmail.com If you are interested in adopting Prim, please fill out our adoption form at:http://form.jotform.us/form/50488470409157 or click on our adoption/foster application on our fb page .     Meet Rosie, she came to us as a foster/rescue to assist a young lady in a domestic situation. As much as we would love to have Rosie as a permanent member of our family we are unable to provide the time and energy this young lady deserves and needs to thrive. Over the past few months we have been caring for Rosie, we have positively reinforced basic commands such as 'sit','down','stay', and 'come' *that one Rosie is still working to master as she loves to explore. Rosie can shake your hand, loves to play ball her fetch 'tire toy'. During Rosie's time with us we have found that she is very energetic and loves to run and play. Rosie is NOT ... (Read More)an apartment dog, a fenced yard in the country with lots of room to run and play would suit her best. Rosie has a sweet loving disposition and craves attention, she loves to cuddle and 'please' her humans. Rosie gets along great with our 10 yo 'grumpy dog' and attempts to coax her to play. (grumpy lil old lady has other idea's such as napping lol). We do not know how she is with cats but she does well with other dogs, large, and small. Rosie came from a home with small children where she was compassionate and protective of the little people. Rosie shows signs of past physical abuse, during her time with us she has become better at not being skittish as she has been shown and is quickly learning not all humans want to hurt her. Rosie needs a companion and friend that has lots of time to spend with her that will continue positive engagement and provided the affection and love Rosie deserves. Rosie will come with two harnesses, two collars, retractable leash, 6ft leash, and her favorite toys. (Medium knot ball, medium chew bone(s), and 6' tire toy) Rosie enjoys her diet of IAMS Pro-Active Health dog food and we 'free feed' meaning her bowl is always out for her. She is potty trained and will let you know when she needs to take care of business. A small adoption fee will apply and we would like to meet you and your family prior to committing. This is to ensure Rosie finds a positive and active forever home. This also allows her new family a chance to ensure they are ready for Rosie's active and loving nature. Please respond by email or by text to arrange a meeting with Rosie. (Less)

Rufus Fawn Male 7 - 9 Years old Kid Friendly Crate trained Fostered in Woodinville, WA If only I could talk I would tell you all about the rough life I have had. Coming into a California Shelter as a stray and being scared and starving. Then life changed--I was rescued and brought up to Washington to my foster Mama and I am so loving the good life now. I am very skinny but now getting a lot of yummy food 4 times a day. It is like amazing. No more scavenging for food, it just shows up in this bowl constantly throughout the day. I sure like that. I am a very handsome sweet old guy with lots of love to share. I get along with all my doggy ... (Read More)friends here -- males, females and a little Chi. Laying on comfy dog beds is almost as amazing as the magic food bowl. So happy old bones don't have to suffer the hard ground any longer. Im not fond of the rain but I do go out and do my business like Im suppose to. I love walks and walk great on a leash. Car rides are my favorite, I do need a boost to hop in. I sleep all night on my dog bed and don't get up till everyone else does. Then its potty time and yes again there is that food in the bowl thing again. Heaven. I'm fine with kids that are respectful and I prefer the older ones, since I am just a lay around kinda guy who doesn't really play much. I look at toys when the other pups are running around and I'm not sure why they are doing that. Maybe some day I'll give it try. I love to be with my people but I am not needy or anxious if they walk out of the room or go somewhere without me. I am crate trained but do fine being left out. I love to take naps but if you grab your keys or leash--you would think I was a younger pup. I don't mind baths and I love the massage of being towel dried, especially after I come in from takin' care of business out in the rain. I will even rub up against the other dogs to dry off. I am the sweetest boxer and perfect fur friend to hang around with on those lazy Sunday afternoons. I am looking for a family that is home more often than being away working all day. Taking me to work would be awesome, since I am such a friendly guy I can be a great customer service guy. A retired household might be just the ticket. So if you want a dog that doesn't chew things up, knock you over, counter surf like all those young ones do. And you just want a guy to spend time with you and lay his head in your lap, showing you how much he loves you, go fill out a app so we can meet. Foster Mom thinks I am the perfect specimen of the boxer breed. Signed Rufus with love.     Pearl 9 Years Young Kid, Dog, and Cat Friendly Fostered in Airway Heights, WA What is the gem hidden in an Oyster? A Pearl. I'm a Pearl, I mean check out my photos. No, my pictures are not photoshopped I just know who to sparkle for the camera. I'm a saucy nine year old girl who feels like a five year old diva. In my foster home, I have this huge family of peeps and furlings. There is mom, dad, my play partner brother, fellow diva sister, my brother boxer, little mini boxer (everyone calls him a pug), and two annoying cats. I want to play with cats but mom tells me to 'leave it' so I have to leave them alone. I'm starting to really ... (Read More)enjoy my kennel. It is decked out and fit for a diva gem like me. It is comfy and relaxing and let's me catch up on my beauty rest while my parents are gone. My play partner lets me sleep on my doggie bed in his room at night. He and I get in a lot of snuggling and playing of tug-of-war, which it turns out are two favorite things to do! A leash and a walk or a car ride are pretty great too. You would think a girl of my age could keep her beauty secrets, but mom says I cannot. Okay here it goes, but please don't begin spreading nasty rumors it was just a little nip and tuck. When I arrived I had some masses that were not very becoming. My mom took me to the vet and they decided it was best to have them removed, thank goodness! Mom says, you need to know they came back as low grade mass cells but doc says they got it all. I'm just glad they are gone, now I truly look and feel like a five year old diva.     Teagan is a friendly guy. He has separation issues, so would be best in a home with people around most of the time. He is a brindle boy about 65 lbs. He lives with 3 cats and used to have a boston terrier brother. He often has my daughters malti-poo as a companion. Iam not sure how he is with children, he hasnt been around them much. He is not super hyper as far a boxer goes, he spends alot of time napping and loungeing. He loves to follow his person around, so you will never be alone in the bathroom again! He loves to go to the dog park and the beach. Iam needing to find him a new family because I have stage 4 bone cancer and Iam ...     Meet Radiance! Adoption events are a snorey bore'|'|..I would rather be at my foster house rumbling in the backyard or snoozing with my stuffy toys. The humans call me Radiance. I am not sure what that means in human language, but it translate into like sparkles, so I will add sunshine to your life. I am a Boxer dog and American Staffordshire Terrier Mix . I am a pretty young thang at about one year old and only 35 pounds. I go to the adoption events to get adopted, but I am not sure what that means, because then we just go back home to my foster house. What does adopted mean anyway? I am doing lots of skills at my foster house to get ... (Read More)ready for adoption like learning puppy manners, cuddles, leash walking, chewing on nylabones instead of human items, crate training, and running around the backyard with the other dogs. I am still catching on to the potty training, but like most puppy dogs, you will have to teach me where the door to outside is at your house. I am a happy girl with plenty of love to throw your way. Do you think that I could learn about adopted with you at your house? I think I would be really good at it with all the training I am getting here at my foster house. Visit www.godsdogsrescue.org to adopt me. I am located in San Antonio Texas but can be transported all over the US. I come spayed, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-02-00033RICKI (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ricki has been with us for almost a year and during that time she has been living with one of our more experience fosters, often along with a couple of other MLBR foster Boxers who need some rehab and/or obedience work. Sadly, Ricki has been overlooked by adopters and has had to sit back and watch a few go their forever homes. We want nothing more than to find Ricki a forever home, as she really deserves a place to call her own where she doesn't have to share with any other dogs, cats, or kids. While that sounds like a difficult scenario to find, we have to believe there is a family, maybe a nice retired couple, or a single person, out there ... (Read More)who would like to give this senior gal a place to live out her golden years in. We recently moved Ricki into a foster home where there are no other dogs just to see how she'd do in a family setting; this one specifically is comprised of two adults, no young children, and a cat. We have to tell you she is doing amazing!! What we are seeing is a very sweet senior Boxer gal who loves attention from her people, who absolutely loves to play with toys, fetch to be specific, and who simply gets to live stress-free because she doesn't have to vie for attention over any other dogs. Ricki is very smart and her new foster parents tell us that she is quickly learning the household routine after only being there for a week. Contrary to Ricki's recently updated bio, she does not have a lot of desire to just lay around and sleep. This girl has a great playful side to her and more energy than would be expected for a Boxer pushing around 7-8 years old. Her foster mom says she would play fetch in the house with her soft squeaky toy for hours if they let her! She just keeps bringing the toy back over and over, and will wait patiently until it gets thrown again. Ricki has always been described as a grumpy, grumbly old gal, which has been a mostly accurate description, up until now. We believe she behaved that way mostly because she's a strong-willed, dominant female, and with so many other dogs around, constantly felt the need to push the envelope and be the boss. We also believe that this description of her for almost a year is likely why she hasn't had any interest by any potential adopters. Ricki is now showing us a different side to her - a very happy and wiggly side. She's even 'learning some new tricks' as an older dog, like having to wait patiently while her meals are dished up, waiting at thresholds before going out and coming in, and laying down in place while her humans are eating. We really believe now that she was just meant to be an only dog. This isn't a bad thing though. Now we know, so now we need to refocus our plan on finding the perfect home for her. Another reason why we think Ricki has been difficult to adopt out is that she makes some very odd sounds/noises with her voice, and to some people they can be intimidating or even scary. However, once you know why they are what they are, and when to expect to hear them, it's really no big deal. Basically, she has a bulldog type noise that comes from her throat, (as would be from an elongated pallet), mostly when she's really excited/happy or after playtime while panting. It almost sounds like phlegm that needs to come up, but there isn't anything there. She's been seen by a vet and we have been assured there are no health problems causing the noises. They don't seem to bother Ricki at all and she probably wonders what all the fuss is about. If you can get past these sounds, you will find a truly awesome senior Boxer girl in front of you. While Ricki is currently living in a home with a cat, it has been discovered that she and cats will likely never be able to cohabitate freely. It was thought early on that Ricki didn't have a prey drive, and with animals like birds and squirrels, she typically doesn't; however, it seems her interest in the cat is at an unsafe level. For now though, both the kitty and Ricki are living under the same roof and being kept apart, and neither are any worse for wear. Now that you all know about the new and improved version of Ricki, let's get her a home! We challenge anyone who might be remotely interested in Ricki, and who has a love for senior dogs, to just meet her. That's all we ask, then you'll see, she's just an older gal who simply wants to be loved on as the only dog in someone's life. Please send us a private message if you'd like to have a meet and greet set up and we'll get right back to you. You can also still take a look at her official bio here to see more information about Ricki - https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/36263474 RICKI is house trained (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-04-00016TYLER (male)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please meet Tyler (formerly Til), who came to us from a local Washington shelter. Tyler is 6 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Tyler has spent the last couple of weeks with one of our trainers in order to assess his needs, as he came into the rescue with very little background information. We can tell he definitely needs work on his over-all manners and will do best in a home with previous Boxer experience. Tyler is a good boy; although he lacks social grace when interacting with other dogs, he is showing gradual improvement in minding his own business and learning to heed his handler's commands. It's ... (Read More)clear that he's had very little training, but he is showing great potential. Tyler will thrive as the only dog in his forever home and doesn't have to share his space with young children. This handsome boy basically needs a chance for a new start; one that will include consistency and training. Tyler has a nice personality. He just needs to learn that paying attention to his human will bring lots of reward. Up until now, there was insufficient or no incentive for behaving well, so he did what came naturally, which we can't blame him for. A skilled handler will be able to build on Tyler's food drive in order to re-direct and increase focus with positive reinforcement training. We will be enrolling him in obedience class to expedite this behavior remodeling. If you have boxer experience, the time and love to commit to this boy, we believe the payoff will be an awesome Boxer-boy companion. Let us know if you'd like to meet Tyler, by filling out an adoption application - http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag - and we'll be in touch to set something up. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
