Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

PLEASE HELP SAVE JACOBY!!! This darling boy currently belongs to another rescue - but we are trying desperately to step in and save him! His previous foster home was no longer interested in fostering him so dropped him off on the doorstep of the current rescue representative! Since the rescue works primarily with small dogs, they are also not able to care for this energetic, playful... always ready for a run, 1yr old boy. He gets along great with dogs his own size but plays too rough with the little ones... and no cats! He loves people, is very social and is always up for the next adventure or as you can see in his picture... he's ... (Read More)always ready for a game of fetch! We have until Thur June 25 to find at least a temporary foster home or else he will be turned into the shelter. We have no facility in which to house him until we can find a safe place for him to go.... CAN YOU HELP with at least a 2wk commitment to foster? All food and kennel will be provided by k9rr (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-08-00034Eddie needs foster! (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Where do we start?? This sweet, loving boy was found as a stray... with a large deep gash and a broken leg. The gash was treated and stitched so the leg could be put in a cast.... and then the cast was taken off too soon so Eddie broke his leg AGAIN, right in the same spot! We were able to rescue this boy so we could get him the medical treatment needed. We've had all his xrays redone and now he just needs time to heal.... another 6weeks in casts - although changed every two weeks. After that time we can have him neutered and begin the search for his forever home. In the meantime, we are desperately looking for a foster home that can ... (Read More)commit to 6wks of love, cuddles (yes, he thinks all 70lbs of him is lap dog size!), and car trips to our vet for a cast change. Eddie is a very sweet boy that wants nothing more than to hang out with his people... and try to do a dance or two when it's time to go outside. He cannot yet go on any walks, but he sure does want to! For the time being, he should be the only dog (he wants to play but cannot), and no cats. During foster, all food, kennel and vet care will be paid for by k9rr (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-09-00657Taurus (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Taurus (the plain nose) came to me from vet that can't say 'No' to helping to rescue beautiful dogs. We believe her to be about 8-10 mos old; spayed, DHPP (dog vax), Rabies Vax, microchipped...and doing fine. She has had no obedience training, so her behavior will have to be improved, but she is SOOOOO happy and just loves everyone. Being the age she is and the energy level she has, I'm sure she'd chase cats especially if the cats ran, but with the right training, she might do quite well. She is medium-high energy...NOT obsessive/compulsive. She currently is about 40#s and bound to get larger. She doesn't try to escape...no digging ... (Read More)out, climbing or jumping over, or chewing on the wire. She can settle down when she knows that's what you want. If you like Boxers...WoW! She is great! Adoption Fee: $375 (includes all the medical, microchipping, health certificate for traveling, and all traveling expenses). If you would like information/more pictures/application, please text me at 210-394-6060 and I will send you everything you need. Terry Wheeler PetCentralSATX San Antonio, Texas 210-394-6060 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-19-00619Franny (female)

Boxer    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Cancer

[Read About Natural Cancer Care] Franny 8-10 yr old female Mellow gal Loves people! Crate & house trained Seattle, WA I'm Franny. I love people; especially ones that give me massages, peanut butter, and let me snooze in the sun. I have a favorite spot, right behind my ears, that I like to get rubbed. When that happens, I make a funny sound, because it feels so good! I get along with the dogs and people I have met here, including respectful children of all ages. I would rather not spend my time jogging or wrestling with energetic dogs since I'm a really mellow sweet older lady. I need a house full of soft beds, people who like snuggles, and ... (Read More)yummy treats! After arriving in rescue, my foster mom took me to the vet and they discovered I have mastocytoma, a form of cancer most often called mast cell tumors. To support my immune system my foster mom gives me grain free food with yogurt, pumpkin and fish oil and this has helped me fill out and get my girlish figure back. I drink lots of water cause cancer just makes a girl thirsty. As a result I need more frequent poddy breaks. I'm a complete sweetheart, have amazing energy and I'm so happy I just bounce around with excitement. I would love to find a home where I can relax, play, and be my wonderful self. I can promise you lots of gentle kisses and a devoted best friend. Can I add my special brand of sunshine to your life? Rescue Me ID: 15-04-19-00575Abby & Buck (male)

Boxer    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis,
 Cancer

[Read About Natural Cancer Care] Abby & Butkus Bonded pair 12 yr old male, 10 yr old female Dog friendly House trained Kid friendly Laid back and mellow Kingston, WA Butkus (Buck) and Abby are a wonderful pair of seniors who are completely bonded to each other. They are almost always touching each other and are never in separate rooms. Abby is most definitely in charge and Buck happily let's her run the show. He is such a laid back type of guy he routinely lets her sit right down on top of him! At 12 years old, Buck is just starting to show his age. He has a few creaky joints, and a couple lumps, but most likely has many more years to be ... (Read More)Abby's perch. Our vet thinks it's possible he has a little bit of Lab mixed in with all his Boxer goodness, which would explain his long legs and could give him some additional longevity. He is a big boy at 90 pounds, but he plays with the very young puppy in his foster home so very gently. He lets that little rascal climb all over him, bite his tail and even try to ride him like a pony, and Buck just gives a small sigh as if to say, 'look what I have to put up with!' Abby is a very young 9 years old with a super sweet temperament. She just wants to be loved on and will wiggle her way into the middle of anyone else getting some attention. She can hear petting going on two rooms away! She makes sure both Buck and the young pup know she is the boss in a very gentle, non threatening way. She does love to be outside and exploring but her favorite thing to do is nap next to her people and Buck. Since Abby has been with NWBR, new mast cell tumors have been found and she is just starting to show some signs of discomfort. The pair came into the rescue from a home where they lived exclusively outside until their owner died and his son could not keep them. For outside dogs they have adjusted beautifully to inside life and it seems to their foster family that they have always been inside dogs. They have very obviously been given people food in the past and Buck will grab anything left within his reach, but they listen when told to stay away or down and don't beg at the table. They absolutely LOVE going in the car! They will race for the door when the magic words 'let's go' are said. They can stay alone in the car with no issues other than a possible move into the front for a better view. Abby and Buck also love walks, but Buck is a major puller and should always be walked with a front leashed harness. Abby does beautifully on leash and so does Buck when he has the right equipment. Both dogs are beginning to get a little picky about what othwr dogs are around them and we don't know about cats. They are superb with children, no jumping up or pushing over. They can be left alone in the home without getting into anything, so crating is not necessary as long as they have each other. They will bark an alert if they hear someone at the door and will head to the fence line when the neighbors dog barks, but both stop barking almost immediately. These two amazing dogs would be perfect companions for any family and will most certainly bring such joy and loving that you will just not believe! Abby and Buck are being fostered in Kingston, WA. Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful, misunderstood Zoey! This wonderful, 2ish yr old girl was about 10lbs underweight when we got her, but is now close to 60lbs. She's had very little training so needs manners... but she's very smart and is learning quickly. She is a typical young-ish Boxer... jumpy, mouthy and a little stubborn. This PREVIOUS behavior has caused some to call her aggressive. Her behavior was really a result of no guidance or rules, little attention and lack of socialization. In less than one week of setting a few guidelines, Zoey is quickly becoming a well-mannered, loving girl. Because she still needs more training and can be a bit ... (Read More)exuberant, an adult only home would be betst. She is learning to socialize with other calm energy, neutral dogs but it would be better if she were the only dog in the home... and no cats for this girl. Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Duke and I am an energetic young adult male Boxer mix looking for a place to call home. Could that home be with you? I would love a family or single person to call my own. I am a very nice boy, and I get along great with people. I love children, and I do well with large dogs. I would be best in a home without small dogs because I have a strong prey drive. I'm sweet, affectionate, and I really love attention and affection from my humans. I'm learning how to walk on a leash and I'm doing better each day. I'm food motivated, so bribing me with treats has helped me excel in my training. Everyone says I'm a GREAT looking dog and ... (Read More)I've got the personality to match. As an added bonus, I'm fully house trained and crate trained. I am neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $250. If you think you might have the right home for me, please visit the Valhalla Canine Rescue website at www.valhallarescue.org/ourdogs/adoptable and fill out an adoption application. My adoption fee allows Valhalla Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay/neuter services) for dogs like me while we look for our forever homes. This fee also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs who require longer stays in the shelter, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
