Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

He truly is Handsome Hank. Hank is about three years old and is what we think is a Boxer mix (tail included). He's about 50+/- pounds and does fairly well on leash. Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Thor 7 years old Male Only furchild Crate trained White w/Fawn Fostered in Spokane, WA Puzzle. Rubber. Jumbler. Sprinkler. Hut, Hut, HIKE! These are things you will find in my biography. Ready? Here we go! My name is Thor. I am a seven year old Boxer on the outside, but on the inside I feel three years old. I am full of energy and have a way of getting you motivated to move. Sometimes I am subtle, while other times I am quite obvious by setting a toy in your lap. Eh hem! Let's tug! I am exceptionally skilled at the art of tug-o-war. I also can play independently. I mostly prefer rubber toys. My MOST favorite toys are either the Kong ... (Read More)Jumbler Ball or the Kong Jumbler Disc. I like to take the disc and play hut, hut, HIKE! I will shove it between my legs like a center football player snapping a football. Trust me! You will not be able to keep a straight face when I do this. In my free time, like to go for peaceful walks. I am a lovely walking companion. Fun fact, bring three potty bags with you. Yep, we will use all three every time. I have my very own special leash, which my trainer will give you. It has a toy on it so when I get really excited around barking dogs, I can put this in my mouth to calm me down. It works like a charm and we can continue our walk with no fuss. Unlessss we see a sprinkler! Sprinklers are the BEST! I love trying to catch the water in my mouth. Sprinkler or hose. Doesn't matter to me. I can play with both for hours, but don't let me. I will get water logged. After my extracurricular activities, I am happy to nap, cuddle, and rest up for another adventure. I am crate trained if you need me to be. I am responsible and trustworthy to be left alone in the house. I am way past all that puppy behavior nonsense. I am a fast eater so my food is served in a puzzle bowl. Right now, I am using the Outward Hound Fun Feeder, the flower pattern. Sometimes my mom lets me use a different pattern just to keep things interesting. I am a good eater and have no allergies. I am an easy keeper and try my best not to cause problems. I like to be in your good graces, so I will work very hard to do so. I have basic obedience skills, but if you would like to strengthen our relationship, teach me more. I hear it is good for the both of us to be lifelong learners. I am always ready to learn and I love me some treats. We can keep each other company. Just us. No other dogs and no cats. Just you and me. I will work my way into your heart so you will never know how you ever lived life without me. I came all the way from California to find you. I think it's time we connect. Looking forward to meeting you. Love, Thor Adoption application link bit.ly/WHBRadopt (Less)

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] 6 Years Old Deaf Has Epilepsy (daily medication) Dog friendly (can be big dog selective) Cat friendly w/dog savvy cats Fostered in Spokane, WA Hi! My name is Devious (I didn't pick it, so don't hold it against me please!). In fact, I think they were confused when they came up with my name, because I am anything but devious! I am a trustworthy pup with a pure, innocent demeanor, always looking to you for reassurance. I just want to know that I have a place in this big 'ol world and that I belong, just like everyone else. Let me tell you a little about myself. I had a home and a family just over 2 weeks ago. But ... (Read More)then they told me I could no longer live there and well, sometimes it's best to just leave an unstable past in the past. WHBR came and collected me from my prior living arrangements, and I was on the road to a new and brighter future. I arrived to my foster family very nervous and uncertain. You see, I am deaf and I have this medical condition where I will occasionally have seizures, which can be quite scary, but can also be managed well with daily medication. Anyways, I %81rst met my human foster brother, and he was ok. I liked him better after he decided to share some of his human treats with me. -We're buddies now. Next I got to meet my fur-brother, a fellow boxer. I was a lot more anxious about meeting him. I had only lived with a smaller dog at my previous home, and I never know what other dogs my size will think of me, so I need to make sure they know I am here and make my presence known to them. They call me 'big dog selective', but I'm not one to get into technical terms. All I know is, I like friends who are more submissive/mellow and can help put me at ease when we are %81rst meeting and playing together. Luckily my fur-brother is great, so now we enjoy running in the yard and having a good play session 'boxer-style' a few times a day. A couple of days later, I got to meet this small furry thing called a cat. I'm not sure I had ever seen one of those before! I just couldn't take my eyes o' of her! But she just laid there, which got boring pretty quickly so I walked away. I still get interested every time I see her, wondering if she will do anything neat or entertaining, but she rarely does (she's pretty lazy; or foster momma says she's 'dog savvy' so she just ignores me. -Pshhh). Anyways, she did take o' running this one time and I had a great time chasing her into the house! Didn't catch her though'|. And you know, I'm not sure I'd know what to do with her even if I had. She's just 'OK'. She rubs against me like she's expecting me to 'pet' her or something. Cats are weird. So most of my time here has been spent lounging around with my foster family. I like naps. S I also REALLY like going for car rides and for walks. In the car, my foster family says I can get a bit loud though. It's just that I get really excited whenever I see someone out walking or driving in their car as we're driving by, so I bark to let them know I can see them! And I am pretty good at walking on a leash, honestly. The only thing that really excites/distracts me while I'm doing that is other dogs that might be outside. Again, I like to bark and I get excited when I let them know I'm there walking by. I can get a bit nervous if approached from behind/where I don't see you coming, or if startled awake from one of my snooze-fests, but I calm quickly and easily with pets and reassurance. I also REALLY enjoy giving smooches. I will smooch you head to toe if you'll let me (and then you won't even need a bath! Win-win!). I'm just so thankful when you let me snuggle, I really want you to know how much I love and appreciate you! Dog toys are ok. I prefer the big oppy stu'ed ones so I can rip their guts out; that's pretty fun. Bully sticks are also a pretty yummy treat to chew on, but I prefer ones that have already been chewed a bit (gotta get that perfect texture/scent going before they're really ready for chewing). I love that my food comes so regularly here! AND, if the human-folk are busy and I'm getting hungry for dinner, I have this neat trick where I just look at them and bark, and they get up and %81ll my bowl (I'm a pretty big fan of 5pm dinner time, CONSISTENTLY). Speaking of tricks, I may be deaf, but that doesn't slow me down! I already know some basic skills like 'sit' & 'shake' to get treats. My foster momma says I am such a smart boy, and I REALLY like treats, so I should pick up more hand signals in no time.Bedtime around here consists of me snuggling my foster-parents in their bed all night long! They have some smallish cushions thrown down on the oor here and there, and the other dog seems to enjoy laying on them, but I'm not really interested in that. I prefer a human lap to snuggle in, or at least a spot on the couch as close to them as I can get!     Roger 7 Years Old Fawn male Cat friendly Dog friendly Kid friendly Fostered in Sweet Home, OR Wait, stop!! Let me tell you a little bit about me and my history as far as the rescue knows. My name is Roger and WHBR rescued me from a shelter in Southern California. I was picked up as a stray, so those memories are hard to communicate. They were hard times. I spent over a month in the shelter and when I arrived there I was very underweight. When I arrived at my foster home, I was finally able to relax and focus on gaining weight and just being myself, now I'm going to let my foster mom tell you what she's found out me so far. Foster mom ... (Read More)here: since Roger came into our home we have seen this skinny, weak, and timid guy blossom and grow into a confident, trusting, and very loving young man. Yes, I say young man as he may be seven, but he is young at heart and spirit. He loves to play fetch, go on walks, or just run and jump around the yard. If you just want to chill and watch a movie, he loves to do that as well. Roger gets along great with his foster sisters and brother and yes even the two cats. He loves being with his people all the time and has lots of love to give. Oh boy, does he love kids! When young kids come around, he's like a huge pupppy, lighting up with excitement to see them and loving running with them. Roger will make a great and loyal family member. No training of any kind; however, since his arrival, he has learned to sit, is practicing stay, and is beginning to understand that being on his bed is a good thing.%A0 This guy is great with our little dog, totally submissive to other dogs, and has not shown any resource guarding issues. He has been very interested in the cat and consequently has quickly added 'leave it' to his new skills. Woody can do this as long as you remind him and reassure him when he gives you the desired behavior. This is a big improvement from his first few weeks, which just goes to show that it is never too late to learn. %A0 Woody is looking for a home without small children and probably without cats, but he would be great with other dogs.     Meet half canine and half horse - Oden. We adore everything about this gentle giant. He has a majestic way about him that we find irresistible. He's a mixture of boxer and possibly mastiff. Oden is only 2 years old and tips the scale at about 90 pounds. He's a tall, lean guy. This boy was born to run and what an athlete he is. He's living in a foster home with a Labrador, a 10 pound senior dachshund mix and Kitten (our official kitty tester). Oden enjoys all the animals in the foster home - especially, the lab since she's the most playful. He loves to play! Kitten has sent Oden running in fear which in time we think he will get over his ... (Read More)fear of Kitten - poor boy! Also, in the household are two children - 1 and 3 years old. Oden is very gentle with children and recently helped baby sit a newborn. He will do best with an active family that will include him on family activities such as hiking, camping, and children sport events. This guy is up for most any fun activity. He's a people guy! He would love a daily running partner. His foster mom is a canine trainer and has started Oden on his basic life skills. He's house trained as well. We are working on crate training. He's such a quick learner. We are looking for a family as special as Oden is. He's really quite the guy. His fans will transport all over the PNW. (Less)

Roxy 3 Years Old Female/Spay Loves car rides Kid friendly (bigger kids best) Dog selective Crate trained Working on basic obedience Flashy Brindle Fostered in Bend, OR Roxy here! I'm a delightful, flashy three year old brindle Boxer, who loves to be near her peeps, very near indeed. I need to shower you with loves and kisses. Yesterday, my mom said something about learning to control my licker, whatever. I am so happy I made it into rescue; luckily, my first owners knew they weren't giving me what I needed. Now, that I'm no longer outside on a chain all day long, I've got people, a couch, a crate, a bed, and toys. A girl really does ... (Read More)need more than just a bowl of water and regular food. My teeth sometimes get caught on my lip. According to some, it because I have an adorable underbite. My foster mom says that when I give her the look and stick out my teeth, I'm impossible to say no to. It thrills me to no end to be around my people at all times; it makes me wiggle when they take me on car rides, walks, or even just cuddle on the couch with me. Being at the end of a chain in the back yard, watching my family come and go or watch TV without me, was pretty heartbreaking. My foster mom tells me that I don't need to worry so much and I'll get enough attention too. I am crate trained which helps a great deal when I worry too much. I know my manners and listen for the most part. Sometimes I'll pretend to ignore a hint when someone doesn't want me to give them lots of kisses. I need some more help in learning how to listen and redirect my attention better when I'm off leash. Speaking of leashes, with each walk I am getting better at not pulling on my leash. I get along great with kids, especially when I can pin them to the couch for kisses and face washes. Mom thinks really little kids may not be the best for me just yet. I haven't been tested around many small animals but I've been known to get very excited by something little moving around outside the windows. Some dogs are okay, but others can be too much like me--a type A personality--and we don't seem to hit it off right away. Once you meet me you'll, see and we'll be together for, forever.     Kojak 3 year old fawn male 80 lbs. Crate Trained Potty Trained Fostered in Spokane, WA Who loves ya, baby? That would be Theo Kojak, the bald, lollipop-sucking New York detective who isn't afraid to bend the rules to bust the bad guys. Wait a second! That's not me! Every day I get dressed up for 'work' by putting on my freedom harness and backpack. I do like dressing up. I like it a lot! My backpack makes me feel important. When I go out, I carry rice, my person's phone, water, and poo bags. I will even carry my own poo home so you don't have to. I figure it is only fair. The backpack helps calm me when I see other dogs. I can get a bit excited and hyper focused. The more I go on walks and practice my good behavior, the better I have become. I have racked up many miles on the 'Walk For A Dog' app earning money for my rescue. Practice makes perfect right and I might as well do a good deed while I am at it. I get compliments all the time. I am so handsome. I don't want others feeling poorly about themselves because I am disgustingly beautiful. While I am at it, please do not bring home a feline. They are just too delicious . . . er, I mean, independent, for my liking. Let it just be you and me. I will gladly crush, I mean, cuddle you on the couch, nudge you while I am bouncing, drool on your floor at meal time, and play with your feet while you are walking. I will fulfill all your needs. No point in spending money on toys because I just do not see the point. However, I will gladly let you mortgage the house for bully sticks. I very much enjoy the softer things in life. I love soft beds that I can stretch out on and a blanket for snuggling. Wherever my blanket is, that is where I will be napping. I am a quiet fellow because I let my looks do the talking so I don't have to. I also like to communicate through pee-mail. I send messages to all my neighborhood friends while out on walks on this bush and that bush. Reading pee-mail is fun too! Perhaps we could send mail to one another or better yet, move in together. Please send your mail to Wigglin' Home Boxer Rescue. Remember, it's not Theo Kojak, just Kojak. Theo already has a family! Adoption application bit.ly/WHBRadopt. (Less)

We adore her and know that she will make someone an amazing family pet. She is a sweet girl and we adore her. She is so happy and loves her family. She is a doll. She is so flashy and really just an amazing girl and always gets complements where ever she goes. Lola and her babies came to us through a team of hard working and animal loving people. She lived with her family until they were unable to care for her. Sadly they were letting her run loose in the yard and animal control was called. They were issued a citation and informed that they would be in a lot of trouble if they did not keep her contained. The family didn't feel they would be able to follow instruction and began looking for a home for her. Sadly that night she gave birth to 7 stunning babies who also were about to be homeless. We had a group of people step up and were so thrilled we could save this little family. They are all amazing and we adore them. Everyone looks to be mostly boxer, we have no idea what they are mixed with as the only other dog in the area is also a boxer. Each of them are amazing and soon looking for their own homes. Lola is a great girl. She loves kids, does great with other dogs and has been working around cats. She does best with cats who are inside but will need work as she was allowed to chase cats at her old home. She is a smart girl and wants to please and has learned so fast. She is a great girl and loves toys, loves her family and wants nothing more to have a good home and a family that adores her. She does need a fence or invisible fence as being a boxer she may hop a shorter one. We have been working on it and she has not attempted to go over the fence in her foster home that is 4 ft tall. She is a great girl and we love her. Lola is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, altered and ready for a new home. She is house broken, crate trained and does well on leash. She did come to us with a really upset tummy and needed lots of help. She is a great girl once we got that settled. She loves attention, has done great with kids, and loves riding in the car. She is great on leash and loves to go for walks and really just wants to be the life of a party. She is a boxer after all. She is an amazing dog and we love every thing about her. She really just wants to be loved and we know there is a house who needs her to complete their home. (Less)

Iggy 3 Years Old Male/Neutered Fawn Good with older kids Natural Tail & Ears Fostered in Helena, MT Iggy is such a handsome young guy who readily seeks your attention and praise. This guy is adjusting and transitioning very well from shelter life to household. He gets along well with our pups. Mr Iggy is very eager to please his people and very motivated to learn what is right, as it means he gets the attention and treats he craves. Of course, being young and likely on the streets prior to landing in the shelter, we weren't surprised when he counter-surfed. But, he has thrilled us by easily correcting that behavior. Similar to his lead work, ... (Read More)he wants to please you, so he is working very hard on not pulling or marking every bush and pole. To help him be the best he can be, you'll want to continue this work. We have noticed that Iggy is WAY too intent on our chickens. We've been practicing 'leave it' but we don't trust him off lead near them. Iggy would love a large fenced yard to play in. He is great with his basic commands. In our home he has his own room that he sleeps in or stays when we are away. He hasn't had to stay alone often because someone is usually home or he goes to my office where there is a doggy day care twice a week, which he really enjoys and does well in. Iggy is going to make his furever family a wonderful pet. He has a few rough edges, and yet is so eager to learn and do what is right. He will acclimate to his new household quickly. We have suspected that he may have a grain allergy because of frequent scratching. It could also be residual flea dermatitis coming out of a CA shelter. Regardless, we've had him on Costco's Nature Domain, which is their grain free food, and he is doing better and better. We're certain Iggy is gonna get matched with a furever family so hopefully you get your application in quickly. Here is the link http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp. (Less)

Scrappy 5 Years Old Kid loving Big dog friendly High prey drive so no cats, chickens or pocket pets Boxer/Bulldog Mix Fostered in Hood River, OR Scrappy loves all people and he gives the best full face kisses. This guy basks in being a champion 80 lb lap dog. On our farm he is a tremendous help-from his photos you can see he is great in the work truck, knows how to inspect the honey bucket as well as framed in walls, he even assists with bed making. Sadly, the big guy was not cared for prior to rescue and has some physical scars he will carry for the rest of his life. We can say that his emotional traumas have not left him scarred, he ... (Read More)is the most loving, canine soul around. His hair is growing back from the surgery to remove the masses but the pressure points from laying on concrete in filth are not likely to regrow hair. From the severe confinement, he was weak in the backend, but he has been regaining that lost muscle mass quickly. As such, he now really enjoys a romp with the other dogs and is getting around easily. Being Boxer/Old English Bulldog mix everyone needs to acknowledge that all that love he gives just oozes out of his jowls. Old English should come with a bib-he is not sloppy until eating, just generous and shares his stuff all over the place. This guy is ready for a furever family, please get the process started by completing an application today, here is the online form link bit.ly/WHBRadopt (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
