Meet Radiance! Adoption events are a snorey bore'|'|..I would rather be at my foster house rumbling in the backyard or snoozing with my stuffy toys. The humans call me Radiance. I am not sure what that means in human language, but it translate into like sparkles, so I will add sunshine to your life. I am a Boxer dog and American Staffordshire Terrier Mix . I am a pretty young thang at about one year old and only 35 pounds. I go to the adoption events to get adopted, but I am not sure what that means, because then we just go back home to my foster house. What does adopted mean anyway? I am doing lots of skills at my foster house to get ... (Read More)ready for adoption like learning puppy manners, cuddles, leash walking, chewing on nylabones instead of human items, crate training, and running around the backyard with the other dogs. I am still catching on to the potty training, but like most puppy dogs, you will have to teach me where the door to outside is at your house. I am a happy girl with plenty of love to throw your way. Do you think that I could learn about adopted with you at your house? I think I would be really good at it with all the training I am getting here at my foster house. Visit www.godsdogsrescue.org to adopt me. I am located in San Antonio Texas but can be transported all over the US. I come spayed, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped (Less)

Freddy Boxer/Dalmatian Mix Male 1ish Cat friendly Dog friendly Kid friendly Fostered in Battleground WA Fearless Freddie here. Wow, I am loving life up here in the PNW. California was great and all but being homeless and unloved wasn't so fun, so I bought a one way ticket on the freedom bus and landed here a few weeks ago. Being friendly with dogs, cats, kids and, adults make it pretty easy for me to find my play and game partners. Yes, I love to play. If cannot find a partner, I'll toss my stuffy around the room keeping myself entertained. I haven't been crate tested. As a gentleman with good manners, I've been allow free reign of the ... (Read More)residence. It's pretty cool 'cause I get to hang out on my bed if you are out and about. I'm not a big barker, but I do like to run up to the fence to greet or play with peeps and dogs as they walk by. My foster mom says that I am fairly well behaved young dog who learns very quickly. According to her, I just need to learn some new tricks and work on my heel. She thinks I'll make a great running buddy. I'm certain I can help anyone shave a few minutes off their 5K race time. See, I've been working on my sprints by playing zoomies in the yard with my other foster sister. Everything was going pretty well till I turned a corner too quick and slid straight into the mud. My white Dalmatian coat wasn't so white anymore. I did enjoy the warm bath but I promised mom to stay out of the mud from now on. My ideal family would be active, understanding that I am still young, and I'm ready to be your forever animal. I would love to grow up with kids. I make a pretty good back rest if they want to read me stories and I'll lay my head on their lap when it's nap time. Complete an application today so we can connect for a walk or romp.     Mary 3 Years Old Boxer Mix Black & White 43 pounds Dog, cat, and kid friendly Fostered in Hood River, OR Hello world--Mary here! My stats say I'm a tiny girl at only 43 lbs but my personality says I'm huge. I get along with other dogs, cats, and kids! I'm very curious about everything. If I haven't seen it or smelled it before (and even if I have), off I go. I need to check out rooms, closets, cupboards, counters, yards, barns, woods'|! My foster mom says It's a good thing I have a pretty good recall. I will alert you when I hear sudden or strange noises--a car, a knock, a door shutting, or another dog. Mom says I don't need to do this ... (Read More)each time, but it's so exciting that I forget. I just want to check out what's going on! I also love to run and play with toys. I'm the queen of zoomies--I will run, run, and rerun! Maybe my forever family will have a runner that would be super cool! I like all toys--balls, stuffies, chewies, and squeakies are the best! I can entertain myself for a long time. Once I decide the squeakies have outlived their usefulness, I put them out of their misery and move on to a new one! I like this game!! You might think I'm always on the go, but I also know how to chill out and relax. I love people--so give me a lap and I'm on it. Chairs, sofas, and beds (mine and yours) are also acceptable, especially if you're already in them. I just melt into you and fall asleep--ahhhh. Last but not least, I do my business outside, I will crate if you need me to, in fact, I always eat my meals in my crate, which makes it a good space. I sit, lie down, and stay (most of the time). I'm working on not jumping on you when I'm excited. My vet says I have allergies, but I love this Touch of the Wild, it's a grain free food--yummy! From Foster Mom: Mary is a happy, delightful girl with a sweet disposition. She's got it all from calmly curling up somewhere to flying around the yard like a whirlwind! She's very smart and fast--I think she'd be an awesome agility dog, agility will also keep her mind stimulated. She needs to work on her leash skills, as her excitement leads to pulling. She loves kids--with her energy and natural tail, I'd say over three years old will probably be best. She's used to playing with big dogs (two Great Pyrenees and two large Boxers) so she can play a little rough. She's had several homes during her short life, and hasn't had a lot of consistency, so stability will do her well. Mary is absolutely adorable, so eager to please, and learn! She will be a perfect addition to your family! Come on! Complete an application today so we can connect. At first, maybe it's over a game of fetch or such to see how things develop... who know sparks may fly. Application Link http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp. (Less)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This gorgeous little brindle Boxer girl is Brie! She is between 3-4 years old, spayed, and weighs in around 48 pounds. Brie came into the rescue at the end of January from a shelter in California and has since been spending all her time with our trainer Jayme. Brie is a very sweet Boxer and loves all people she meets. She is a very enthusiastic greeter but she's been working very hard at staying off. Brie has the typical Boxer wiggle, where her body bends and she wiggles all around in excitement. Because of Brie's young Boxer energy, we believe she would do best in a home with older kids; she just might be too much for the younger ... (Read More)ones. Brie currently lives with two extremely dog-savvy cats, and while she has gotten better with them, we would advise that her forever home not have kitties. She is doing fantastic with the other dogs in the home now, after working on her social skills and manners, so she would do just fine in a forever home with another pup to play with. She absolutely loves playing with her current fur housemates. Brie knows all of her basic obedience - sit, down, wait, stay, loose leash walking, and recall in a fenced yard. She has not been recall-tested off-leash at this time. Brie is crate trained and does well in her crate, never barking or making any noise. Brie is a good girl and will do best in an active home where she is part of the family and has an outlet for her fun energy. Boxer    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This handsome fawn Boxer boy is Dante. He's around 9 months old and has tons of love to give. Dante is a bit shy of new people and strange noises at first, but soon learns everything is okay. Dante is full of energy and plays well with other dogs; respecting when they want to stop. He walks great on a leash and continues to give you eye contact, as if to ask, what do you want me to do next? Dante is crate trained and sleeps through the night. During the day he will have accidents in the house if he isn't on a schedule of being taken outside every 2 hours; but progress is being made in this are. Dante's foster family are still in the ... Animal ID: 17-036June (female)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

June 1.5 Years Old Can do dog savvy cats Working on basic obedience Almost house trained Leash trained Fostered in Chinook, WA June affectionately called 'the Bug' is one of the sweetest little girls you will meet. June had a pretty rough life before she came into the rescue. Today, you would not know it from June's sweet demeanor and love of people. She is on the shy side but warms to everyone very quickly. Previously, she hadn't been exposed to much of a normal life, so new things can frighten her, at first. If you just talk softly and reassure her all is fine. She wants to trusts her human completely. The Bug, hasn't met a dog she doesn't ... (Read More)like. She lives with three Boxers and does great. Now, they all go to a large field everyday to run with two Standard Poodles and two smaller Boxer/mix pups. She would most likely love to be in a home with a dog close to her own age. She is learning to play and since, her foster siblings are all 7 they really don't want to play as much as she would like. A younger brother would be great. She is learning about squeaky toys and has found a couple of favorites. She loves to chew on bones and chew toys. I'm proud to report, she has been very good and only chews on her toys. June is almost completely house trained. She uses a dog door and lets herself in and out. When it is raining and she is playing, she can 'forget' sometimes to make the dash for the dog door and backyard to piddle. She has never had a poo accident. She is smart and wants to please. Crates are a no-go for this girl; she has full blown anxiety attacks if she is crated. We do not know much of this sweet girl's past, but nights were very difficult for her--she became very anxious with pacing and panting. In the beginning, she couldn't sleep for more than a few minutest a time. It was much like a young child who was afraid of the dark. As she realizes she is in a safe place she has been working through it well. To help her, we have been giving her a natural calming medication at night. The difference in ten days has been amazing. She is sleeping most of the night on her bed. She does like to come get on the bed with her foster family but usually only stays a short time. She is used to being an 'outside' dog so she gets too warm sometimes. June has been left free in the house with her fur siblings for up to three hours. She has done fabulous! She has spends most of her time with her chew toy or napping. At our local vet office she met Eddy the office cat. She did great, curious but not overly. She walked away from Eddy and never looked back. When I walked her over to him again she wanted to sniff him. She took one quick sniff and jumped back. She was again curious but not sure what to make of the kitty. June is looking for a family to shower her with love and kindness. She is a smart girl who will learn quickly with a gentle leader. She rides well in a car. She just wants to be close to her person. This sweet girl will make a fabulous addition to any family that understands she had a rough beginning. We've put together her photo album so you can see how she has blossomed since arriving skinny, scarred, and scared--fill out an application today! http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-15-00049RUDY (RUDOLPH) (male)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This hunky Boxer boy is Rudy aka Rudolph and he's between 1-2 years old. Rudy came to us by way of California where he was found as a stray, starving, with a broken leg, living behind a car dealership. Thankfully, between the local area animal control and a nonprofit group called New Beginnings for Merced County Animals, who took Rudy and placed him in a foster home, Rudy is safe and thriving here in Washington state. Rudy is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccines, has a full tail, and his fractured leg is healing great. This boy is very sweet, he loves people, including kids; loves dogs, but will give a low growl when he wants/needs some ... (Read More)space, but has shown no aggression to anyone. Rudy's foster family is still working on potty training but are making progress. Rudy is crate-trained, however, prefers to be out of his crate and around people. He's great on a leash, staying consistently on the left side of his foster mom, and never pulls. Rudy is also working on his basic commands and doing well. He's a good listener, which will help with continued training in his forever home. We aren't quite sure if we can say Rudy is cat friendly just yet, however, he hasn't tried to chase the cats in his foster home. He will let them come up to him and get in his face, as he stands still with his head low, and doesn't budge. Rudy is definitely interested in the cats, but we feel based on this behavior, he could possibly live with dog-savvy cats in his forever home Rudy definitely loves attention! The only time he barks is when he wants your attention, and he'll even lift his paw up, as if to shake hands, but what he really wants is to be petted. Rudy loves a good ear rub, cuddles, and will shower you with kisses. His vet even raves about what a good boy he is. Rudy won't be completely ready to go to his forever home until his leg is healed up, but if you think he just might be the Boxer boy you've been looking for, please let us know by submitting an adoption application - https://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt RUDY is house trained (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-15-00048DRAGO (male)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

This beautiful Boxer-boy is Drago! He's around 10 months old and is hearing impaired, although does hear quite a bit. Drago is current on his vaccines and has been neutered; he is housebroken and crate-trained. Drago was surrendered to us by a family who loved him very much, but illness befell their newborn baby and they just couldn't give Drago the time and care a growing puppy needs. They were truly heartbroken, but we assured them he was in good hands with MLBR and that we will find a great forever family for him. Even with the hearing impairment, Drago is a quick learner and very smart. He has learned sign and voice commands for sit, lay ... (Read More)down, shake, roll over, and stay; and responds well to both. Drago, in typical puppy-fashion, loves to get into things he's not supposed to, so he needs constant supervision when out and about in his home and yard. When supervision can't be provided, then this boy will patiently wait in his crate. Drago likes to lick and chew on anything, so bones have been a great way to keep him busy. Because of Drago's insatiable need to chew on things, he's had to have two major stomach surgeries already in his young life to remove rope that got caught in his intestines. Also because of this, Drago does not get any fabric toys and absolutely no rope-type toys. This will be very important for his forever family to adhere to so that he can grow up safe, healthy, and happy. Drago is good with other dogs, kids, and even cats. He loves to cuddle and will make a great addition to the right family. This boy is truly something special! After everything this young pup has been through, he sure deserves a great forever home. If you're up to the task of raising an active, growing, Boxer puppy (he LOVES to eat by the way!), then let us know by submitting an adoption application - https://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt DRAGO is house trained (Less)

Meet Hammie! This adorable Boxer-Pit puppy is around 9 months old and weighs in at about 50 pounds. Hammie is healthy, neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on his vaccines, and is currently being crate and potty-trained. Hammie is a bouncy, silly, puppy. He's wonderful with other dogs and just loves to play; and he has been really good with the cat in the trainer's home. Hammie came to us with some nervousness when meeting new people, but has worked very hard on this with our trainer, and is doing much better; his manners are also getting better every day. Hammie is food motivated, which will make it much easier for his new family to ... (Read More)continue to work on his training and socializing. It should be noted that Hammie is not aggressive toward people, but just seems unsure and nervous, and needs slow introductions. With a lot of consistency and strong leadership, we are confident Hammie will work through this. Hammie is great with older children, but may be a bit much for young, small kids, as he could easily and accidentally knock them over. He is a puppy after all. ?? Hammie is going to be a great boy for some lucky family, that's for sure. He'll just need to continue his training, but we are certain all the puppy love that is returned, will make the hard work totally worth it! Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Say hello to our good ol' boy Max2! He's around 7 years old, neutered, up to date on his shots, and just the sweetest guy on the block! Max is super friendly and always wants to be with you! He's a very mellow and relaxed sort of dude that mostly just lounges and sleeps anywhere comfortable. His favorite place is on the couch with his head in your lap! Max does knows a few commands, for sure sit and shake, and is working on wait to be let outside, which he's doing well with so far. Max does have some mobility issues in his hind legs and hips due to arthritis, therefore, isn't asked to do much up and down work as far as training and commands ... (Read More)go. It should be noted that Max also has some 'lumps and bumps' and due to his age, we will not likely be considering options to remove them. Max is a really gentle dog that craves attention. He will literally come and place his paw, ever so lightly, on you or pick your hand up with his head to get you to pet him; and his little nub goes wild at just the mention of his name! Max does get playful still and enjoys a good romp around the yard or a short play session inside with some toys or his people. He also enjoys a good short walk and is pretty good on the leash%BD'%BD|no real pulling but he's a curious guy so he will walk back and forth in front of you to get some good sniffs in. Max would do great in a home that is familiar with mobility issues and understands slow moving senior-like dogs. Someone who is home more often than not would be ideal as well! Max is very friendly with people and other dogs, however, we do not know how he is with cats or very small children; we have only seen him around kids aged 8+, which he did great with. Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This handsome older gentleman is Max, fka Barney, and he's approximately 8 years old. We changed his name to Max because he just wasn't responding to Barney, but really seems to love being called Max. :-) Max came to us by way of a shelter in California when he basically 'ran out of time'. He's been with his foster family now for a few weeks and is doing really well. He's great with kids, of all ages it seems, as he lives with a 10, 9, and 2-year old, and loves all three of them!! Max is also great with small dogs, but not so much with cats, as he appears to be a bit too interested in them, so he'll likely do best in a no-kitty forever home. ... (Read More)Max walks great on leash, however, is leash reactive toward other dogs. When the dogs come to his foster home, he's just fine. This is something that can definitely be worked on though with various training methods. Max knows what 'no' means, so that will be very helpful with future training work. Max is still working on becoming completely housebroken, and has had a few accidents in the home, but we believe with the consistency given by his foster family in working on this, he'll get there soon. Max is a very happy Boxer boy, loves to please, and is a champion cuddler! He will make a great addition to pretty much any family, but especially one with kids!     Hank 7 Years Young Fawn Fostered in Eugene, OR My name is Hank and in case you didn't notice, I will point out, Hank is only one letter off from HUNK! You got it, my foster mom says I am pretty handsome. I'm really just a good ole' boy looking for someone to love on me for the rest of my days! Fitting right in anywhere is my M.O. Crate, no crate; fursibling, no fursiblings; kids, no kids; play or chill--if my furever family is there for me, I'm there for them. I'm easy going and laid back. I sit and do leads; however, I am currently getting a refresher course. It's been a little while since I've been out and about with people to guide me, so ... (Read More)I've been a little Boxer wiggly recently. We'll work thru that, you and I. Definitely enjoy play and I have an abundance of serious good wigglin' left in me. Ideally, in my furever home I would roam around during the day and cuddle up next to you at night. My foster mom thinks I would be a good boy, if you want to leave me out when you go somewhere, but let's make sure I understand the house rules first. I don't want to disappoint you. Kisses are the bomb! Especially, those from my human sister. She kisses me very gentle on my head and nose; it feels so nice that I melt. You know the feeling: my legs feel heavy and I sorta sink deep into the couch and can barely keep my head up. Ya! That's the feeling. Oh, I should tell you I don't love going in the car just yet. I do okay, but it does make me a little nervous. The back window wiper blades are fun to watch though! My fur brother says a trip or two for a pupuccino should take care of that. I'm not so sure, but I will try anything once! If you think we might make a good family, please fill out an application and let's meet up!     Thor 7 years Old Male White w/Fawn Fostered in Battle Ground, WA Hi everybody, my name is Thor and I'm 7 years old. I'm from good ol' California, and surprisingly I'm digging this Northwest rain. Energy is my middle name, so much so, I'm often mistaken for a puppy. Rest assured, puppyhood is behind me, I may need a reminder from time to time but otherwise we are good to go! Though I'm not perfect, I've got some skills. I can sit, lie down, shake, etc. The big skill? I play fetch, dropping the ball when you ask, and even backing away from the ball while waiting for you to get ready. A great way for us to harness some of my energy is a good ... (Read More)walk. I honestly won't tug or pull you around; so, I'm not certain why mom thinks I could still use a little work in that department... oh wait, I'll be right back, after I catch that Frisbee... With my energy level, I seem to do best with more mellow fur friends, they help balance me out, and remind me that it is cool to chill sometimes. I'd love to have a mellow female fur friend. She'd completely bringing yang to my yen. Being high energy, I thrive on stability and structure; otherwise, life can become a never ending series of bouncy balls I have to collect. I want to know I've pleased you; it earns me smiles, pets, rubs, good boys, and yummy treats. Mom says, I have to tell you things like I'm house and crate trained, but seriously that's all puppy stuff and I'm beyond those things except the livin' life to its fullest part. Are you ready for me? If so, I'm told you need to complete an application so we can connect.     Aurora Female 2 years old 50 lbs Fawn and white Natural ears and tail Aurora loves people, hugs, cuddles, snuggles, walks (remarkable on a lead), and her ball--she carries it everywhere Aurora enjoys men, women, kids, playing, toys, treats, dogs (big & small), and cats Aurora doesn't mind elders and young ones, car rides, crates, grooming, vets, sleeping in her bed, and chickens We don't yet know whether she really likes people or prefers pink flamingos %BD%BD%BD%BD. In her current foster home, someone is always around or never gone for very long. Again, being young she has also mistaken a slipper for a toy instead of a 'leave it'. Aurora wants people to love her, people to please, people to play with, people to guide her, people to teach her, a grain free diet (grain allergies), fur siblings (K9 and/or Feline), kids (babies to teens). Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Mazie is a loving pitbull puppy mix who was found as a stray. She came to us with horrible skin issues and we have slowly been working to resolve these and can provided good information on her nutrition needs. She is playful and loving, has lots of energy for walks or running if that's your thing but will also just chill with you if that's your scene as well (she loves to cuddle close). She does suffer from some anxiety so will need a home with lots of patience and love.

Hi Facebook Friends! It's me...Spotty. I have seen a lot of my friends here find there forever homes recently, and am starting to wonder if I ever will. Don't get me wrong, the shelter is nicer then my previous situation, where I didn't have any shelter or know where my next meal was coming from. In fact a really nice lady brings us bones and cheeseburgers-which are AMAZING!! (THANK YOU EDEN!!) I know I shouldn't bark each time someone comes by my kennel, but I'm not used to a barrier between me and my people---if you could just put up with the barking for a couple of minutes, I'll get the message that you are a friend and settle down. ... Rescue Me ID: 16-09-02-00033RICKI (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ricki has been with us for almost a year and during that time she has been living with one of our more experience fosters, often along with a couple of other MLBR foster Boxers who need some rehab and/or obedience work. Sadly, Ricki has been overlooked by adopters and has had to sit back and watch a few go their forever homes. We want nothing more than to find Ricki a forever home, as she really deserves a place to call her own where she doesn't have to share with any other dogs, cats, or kids. While that sounds like a difficult scenario to find, we have to believe there is a family, maybe a nice retired couple, or a single person, out there ... (Read More)who would like to give this senior gal a place to live out her golden years in. We recently moved Ricki into a foster home where there are no other dogs just to see how she'd do in a family setting; this one specifically is comprised of two adults, no young children, and a cat. We have to tell you she is doing amazing!! What we are seeing is a very sweet senior Boxer gal who loves attention from her people, who absolutely loves to play with toys, fetch to be specific, and who simply gets to live stress-free because she doesn't have to vie for attention over any other dogs. Ricki is very smart and her new foster parents tell us that she is quickly learning the household routine after only being there for a week. Contrary to Ricki's recently updated bio, she does not have a lot of desire to just lay around and sleep. This girl has a great playful side to her and more energy than would be expected for a Boxer pushing around 7-8 years old. Her foster mom says she would play fetch in the house with her soft squeaky toy for hours if they let her! She just keeps bringing the toy back over and over, and will wait patiently until it gets thrown again. Ricki has always been described as a grumpy, grumbly old gal, which has been a mostly accurate description, up until now. We believe she behaved that way mostly because she's a strong-willed, dominant female, and with so many other dogs around, constantly felt the need to push the envelope and be the boss. We also believe that this description of her for almost a year is likely why she hasn't had any interest by any potential adopters. Ricki is now showing us a different side to her - a very happy and wiggly side. She's even 'learning some new tricks' as an older dog, like having to wait patiently while her meals are dished up, waiting at thresholds before going out and coming in, and laying down in place while her humans are eating. We really believe now that she was just meant to be an only dog. This isn't a bad thing though. Now we know, so now we need to refocus our plan on finding the perfect home for her. Another reason why we think Ricki has been difficult to adopt out is that she makes some very odd sounds/noises with her voice, and to some people they can be intimidating or even scary. However, once you know why they are what they are, and when to expect to hear them, it's really no big deal. Basically, she has a bulldog type noise that comes from her throat, (as would be from an elongated pallet), mostly when she's really excited/happy or after playtime while panting. It almost sounds like phlegm that needs to come up, but there isn't anything there. She's been seen by a vet and we have been assured there are no health problems causing the noises. They don't seem to bother Ricki at all and she probably wonders what all the fuss is about. If you can get past these sounds, you will find a truly awesome senior Boxer girl in front of you. While Ricki is currently living in a home with a cat, it has been discovered that she and cats will likely never be able to cohabitate freely. It was thought early on that Ricki didn't have a prey drive, and with animals like birds and squirrels, she typically doesn't; however, it seems her interest in the cat is at an unsafe level. For now though, both the kitty and Ricki are living under the same roof and being kept apart, and neither are any worse for wear. Now that you all know about the new and improved version of Ricki, let's get her a home! We challenge anyone who might be remotely interested in Ricki, and who has a love for senior dogs, to just meet her. That's all we ask, then you'll see, she's just an older gal who simply wants to be loved on as the only dog in someone's life. Please send us a private message if you'd like to have a meet and greet set up and we'll get right back to you. You can also still take a look at her official bio here to see more information about Ricki - https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/36263474 RICKI is house trained (Less)

Please join us in welcoming SAM, a 5-6 year old Boxer/Lab mix, to MustLuvBoxers Rescue. We were called upon to help Sam after he was found as a stray and picked up by a shelter in California. The staff fell in love with his sweet nature and neutral/non-reactive behavior toward all types of dogs, and worked diligently to get him into a foster-based rescue organization. Sam arrived in style in Bellingham, WA, via Pilots N Paws and MLBR is happy to have him with us! Sam is currently with one of our more experienced fosters who can help assess his conditions with respect to behavior and health. Early on he proved himself to be quite a crate ... (Read More)escape artist, but has since shown improvement with specific crate training. He is currently entering his crate easily (and staying put) and receives a treat for doing so. We think his previous escapes were purely opportunistic, but will be testing that theory in the coming days. Health points that his foster will be looking into include resolving a hematoma on one ear flap and flushing his very dirty ears%BD'%BD|all-too-common follow-up for a dog that's been on his own on the street for who knows how long. Sam does have numerous scrapes and scars on his legs, but if they were caused by run-ins with other other dogs, Sam appears to be none the worse for wear, as his friendly and outgoing personality remains intact. So far, he already walks well on leash, is very neutral to small and large dogs, loves to sleep on his bed or on the couch, and is always there to give you kisses. He does not react to children noises or other dog noises on other side of wooden fence at his foster home (neighbor does daycare for pre-school age kids). All in all, he's a great, loving dog. Very responsive, very attentive. Very food-oriented = VERY good!!! Sam is not quite ready for adoption just yet, as he is still under evaluation, as is usual procedure for our rescue program. Please check back regularly or message our inbox to get updates on his current status. However, if you are already thinking Sam might be the boy for you, please let us know by filling out an adoption application, which you can find here: http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-04-00016TYLER (male)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please meet Tyler (formerly Til), who came to us from a local Washington shelter. Tyler is 6 years old, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Tyler has spent the last couple of weeks with one of our trainers in order to assess his needs, as he came into the rescue with very little background information. We can tell he definitely needs work on his over-all manners and will do best in a home with previous Boxer experience. Tyler is a good boy; although he lacks social grace when interacting with other dogs, he is showing gradual improvement in minding his own business and learning to heed his handler's commands. It's ... (Read More)clear that he's had very little training, but he is showing great potential. Tyler will thrive as the only dog in his forever home and doesn't have to share his space with young children. This handsome boy basically needs a chance for a new start; one that will include consistency and training. Tyler has a nice personality. He just needs to learn that paying attention to his human will bring lots of reward. Up until now, there was insufficient or no incentive for behaving well, so he did what came naturally, which we can't blame him for. A skilled handler will be able to build on Tyler's food drive in order to re-direct and increase focus with positive reinforcement training. We will be enrolling him in obedience class to expedite this behavior remodeling. If you have boxer experience, the time and love to commit to this boy, we believe the payoff will be an awesome Boxer-boy companion. Let us know if you'd like to meet Tyler, by filling out an adoption application - http://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/#!adopt/cgag - and we'll be in touch to set something up. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
