Rescue Me ID: 16-05-03-00006PARKER (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

This is Parker! He is an approximately 6 month old, very loving, Boxer boy who likes to kiss and be kissed! He has a lot of puppy in him, which will require patience, understanding, and consistency by his forever family. Parker knows and loves to hear his name. He knows how to sit, fetch, walk on a leash (with some pulling), and likes to take a bath. He is housebroken and crate-trained. Parker eats when he wants/when he's hungry, never over eats, and often is too busy for food because of his puppy energy. Parker gets along very well with his two foster fur-siblings and loves to play in the yard with them or by himself. He has not ... (Read More)been introduced to any cats since being in foster care, but he definitely doesn't like squirrels. We think he may be good with kids, but probably not young ones, as he has so much puppy energy, he could accidentally hurt or scare them; although at this time, he has not been introduced to any children. Parker is full of energy in the mornings and also when you get home to greet him, so could definitely benefit from puppy training classes. He can be very rambunctious and will need a family that has time to give him stability, structure, boundaries, play, and love. Parker is progressing very well in his foster home; building confidence, putting on some healthy weight, and learning that he can be rewarded with time on the 'big boy bed' when he does well on the leash and is polite when meeting his neighbors. His foster mom says he's 'growing into an excellent young man'. Animal ID: seeking hospice fosterGAGE (male)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Gage is a big, strong, neutered 9 year old boxer boy showing signs of degenerative myelopothy (DM). It really isn't slowing him down much as he is eager to explore and can pull when on leash. He is otherwise a friendly casual kind of guy who enjoys the company of other dogs and loves humans. Gage would appreciate a permanent fospice home where he can thrive on good days and depend on understanding guardians to help him get around when DM ultimately makes mobility a challenge more often than not. Does Gage's sweet face or story speak to you? If so, please contact MLBR today!

My Name is Jaycee, I am petite 9 years old fawn female boxer who is very well behaved and am pretty stuck in my ways (stubborn). I love to spend time voicing my opinion outside for the whole world to hear me and I sing with all the pretty siren music. My foster Mom says I am really skinny right now and she is doing her best to fatten me up. I have two foster sibblings and get along with both of them very well. I am potty trained, but do not like the kennel but i never get into anything when left home. I love car rides, and to just lay around, and get lots of love and rubs. Pa gives the best ear rubs and I am really Spoiled here. My energy ... Boxer    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This 9-year old, spayed, female Boxer is super sweet and a total love bug. She is potty and crate trained, but can only stay in her crate for short periods of time, as she doesn't really like it much. Zoey is pretty petite, weighing in around 50 - 55 pounds. She loves riding in the car and has done great in the tub getting baths. She knows basic commands and responds well to getting treats to do them. From what we know, she's fine with other dogs and would probably find it great to have a fur-brother in her furever home. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00031CARLY (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Cancer

[Read About Natural Cancer Care] I have a white face, but I'm very young at heart. My foster parents and the vet think I'm about 7 to 8 years old. However, I keep surprising my foster parents when I run and bound around with happy energy! I don't recall any formal training or socialization during my puppyhood but I'm proof that you can teach an older dog new tricks. I know 'sit' and am learning 'wait' and 'shake' so far. I'm also learning to be more comfortable around other dogs and not feel a need to be on guard; although there are still times that I have issues with the other dogs in my foster home. I'm thinking I might do best if I were an ... (Read More)only dog. But wouldn't that be cool? I'd have YOU all to myself, and visa-versa!! See, I LOVE people! In fact, even though I love food too, if there are people around, I'd rather meet them and give them kisses than take a treat.I'm very grateful to MLBR for finding me and bringing me into the MLBR family. I'm so happy to be safe and secure, I smile all the time! As you know though, I do have some pretty serious health issues. The lumps and bumps I have are cancer and I also have bad dental disease. I did, however, get a couple of the bigger lumps removed recently and have recovered quite nicely. I take some medication that helps to not have accidents while I'm sleeping and it's been working great! Even though I had lost quite a bit of weight by the time I ended up in the shelter in California, I'm slowly putting on weight which is making me look and feel better.I don't mind sleeping in my crate, but I'm not too thrilled when my people leave me in there. If I were the only dog in my new home though, I'd do just fine 'out and about' while you're gone. By the way, I'm told I'm quite a sweetheart; oh, and I love to cuddle on the couch in the evenings.I don't know how much longer I'm going to be here but I'm sure going to make the best of every day! I have a ton of love left to give, so please don't underestimate me just because I'm an older gal. https://static.wixstatic.com/media/66acd9_34e962ced3a34a10b7f27e7af14cf024.jpg/v1/fill/w_1120,h_860,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01/66acd9_34e962ced3a34a10b7f27e7af14cf024.jpg (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00021DOLLY (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Dolly is an 8+ year old Boxer with the joie de vivre of a four-year-old. Dolly loves to go for walks around the neighborhood and curries affection from anyone she meets. She does well with with both male and female dogs, children, horses, and car rides. Whatever you're doing is what she wants to do! She is a flashy brindle butterball of affection and is eager to please. She can get offended with the antics of young/bratty dogs, and would love to chase any kitties she finds, so homes with those two types should be avoided. Dolly is crate-trained and will go into her crate happily. Dolly may have a predisposition for UTIs and she is on a ... (Read More)prescription diet to help alleviate this. Consequently, Dolly needs to have access to potty every four hours or so as the diet makes her drink a lot of water. She is a little stiff when she gets up, but she is both on a diet and taking a joint supplement so this concern should be ameliorated with time. Because she is so easy-going I would consider her a 'starter-boxer,' for someone interested in the breed but who has never had one before. She is truly the perfect ambassador for Boxers without all the rowdiness of the very young. Dolly would love to keep you company while you binge-watch your favorite shows, read that novel, or crochet that scarf and your lap will never be chilled with this sweet older gal around to warm it. Won't you consider Dolly to be your forever companion https://static.wixstatic.com/media/66acd9_a003e4a068ca409283fccc16510938c6.jpg/v1/fill/w_717,h_924,al_c,q_85/66acd9_a003e4a068ca409283fccc16510938c6.jpg (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00010TEDDY (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Teddy is a handsome, five year old, neutered fawn Boxer male. He is smart, sweet, and loves to cuddle. He gets along well with his fellow fosters and is very deferential to female dogs. He was unfortunately tied out his whole life before coming into rescue, and subsequently has some reactive behavior that we are working hard to help him overcome. He has difficulty reading other dogs' behaviors and postures because he likely had very little socialization with other dogs. His own body language comes across stronger than normal, which is not uncommon with dogs who are former tie-outs. Hence, the No Cats, Rats, Guinea Pigs, Small Fluffy Things ... (Read More)bulletin out on him. Teddy is learning to play and engage with other dogs within his foster environment, but dogs he encounters in the world outside of his home are still an exciting mystery to him. Anything outside of his six-foot fenced world is still very new to him, so he is eager and curious; it takes time and patience to remodel four years of tie-out behaviors. In addition, he is quite the strapping lad of a Boxer, and as such, is too strong to be considered safe in the hands of any but experienced Boxer handlers. Teddy has been going to obedience school since January and he is learning how to be the gentleman Boxer we know he can be. Thus far, he has come a very long way and continues to prove how bright and resilient a Boxer can be. That being said, he is a muscle that needs to be flexed. He will need continued and continuing training for a long time yet. He may never be a dog that gets to be off-leash. As with any muscle unused, his good behavior and learning will atrophy if he isn't worked with by a firm, fair, loving, patient and consistent caregiver. Teddy has a heart of gold and tries very hard to please. He is bright, honest, attentive and is learning to mind his own business. He is learning to ask and check in with his handler and to do it often. Teddy is a work in progress! Teddy enjoys playing with his foster friends, but ultimately he is more interested in being somebody's sweetheart. He wants to snuggle and bring toys and go and do whatever his human is doing. For all his rough-and-tumble good looks, Teddy is a total Mama's boy and just wants to be shown love and leadership by his human leader https://static.wixstatic.com/media/66acd9_6dc0e665743e4ed4b05ef320652f1a8d.jpg/v1/fill/w_704,h_777,al_c,q_85/66acd9_6dc0e665743e4ed4b05ef320652f1a8d.jpg (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Summer is 1 year old Boxer mix rescued from a TX kill shelter. She is a medium size dog weighing approx 35 lbs. Summer is a sweet girl with an active personality. She would do best in a family with kids over 80lbs and access to a back yard. She needs a family that has time to continue working with her on good habits and socialization so she can keep up her good work! She gets along well with med to large size dogs after she has been introduced to them. Rescue Me ID: 16-02-24-00637Hospice Foster Needed (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Cancer

[Read About Natural Cancer Care] PLEASE GIVE ROCKY A WARM BED AND LOTS OF ATTENTION... HE HAS ONLY ABOUT 3-6 MONTHS LEFT. We recently found out our darling, sweet boy has cancer. There is no cure for his type and he has not long to live. It would be wonderful if these last few months were spent with a special, loving person or family that will allow him to frolic in the backyard, play a bit of ball (although he still doesn't know what 'drop it' means), and sleep on a big, cushy pillow. He is really the sweetest boy! This darling, 10yr old absolutely loves people and he's always wiggling and wagging when anyone is near. He also enjoys ... (Read More)going on lazy, short casual walks or better yet, go for rides in the car... then to come home and take his mid day nap. He also enjoys hanging out in the backyard and rolling in the grass. Although Rocky can be trusted home alone for numerous hours, he's had enough of that in his life so we're looking for someone with plenty of time to share. He's picky about his doggy pals so no other animals in the home is best. All vet care and expenses will be covered by k9rr. (Less)

Meet Bonnie and Bandit! This darling, bonded duo are the best dogs! They are both about 4ish years old. Bonnie weighs about 75lbs and Bandit weighs about 83lbs. They are both very gentle natured, and Bandit thinks he's a lap dog. Bonnie is a bit better trained but Bandit follows her closely so it's easy to get him to comply, too. They must have a large, fenced yard... or preferably, a large, fenced piece of property. This duo prefers to be outside ... (Read More)during the day but can remain inside, napping in their crate for a reasonable amount of hours, This duo will be an awesome addition to any large breed experienced home. They are awesome with kids but can be overpowering so children must be over 10yrs old. (Less)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Maizey is a stunning 9 year old spayed brindle boxer. She comes to us as an owner surrender as they have come to the difficult decision that their home life is not what Maizey ultimately needs and want the remainder of her years with a family who can provide her everything that they can not. Maizey is housebroken (she can be alone without accidents up to 6 hours a day) and currently has access to a doggie door and a fully fenced yard. We feel this would be very beneficial for her to continue having free access or a home where her family is home to let her in and out during the day. She is very sweet, likes to please and true to her breed. ... (Read More)She is also very smart and knows several commands which she loves to perform. Maizey would do best with owners who are Boxer savvy and know the Boxer Breed. Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Zoey... a beautiful, 18mo old 60lb ball of energy. She would do best with a runner or jogger that will provide her with the daily exercise she needs. She is extremely smart and picks up new commands at breakneck speed. Because she 's so smart, she is also a bit stubborn so needs an experienced 'pack leader.' Because she still needs more training and can be a bit exuberant, an adult only home is best. She is learning to socialize with other calm energy, neutral dogs but it would be best if she were the only dog in the home... and no cats for this girl. She must have a fenced backyard. She can be alone for up to 6 hours but ... (Read More)because she is young and just learning manners, she must be crated when left alone. (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Duke and I am an energetic young adult male Boxer mix looking for a place to call home. Could that home be with you? I would love a family or single person to call my own. I am a very nice boy, and I get along great with people. I love children, and I do well with large dogs. I would be best in a home without small dogs because I have a strong prey drive. I'm sweet, affectionate, and I really love attention and affection from my humans. I'm learning how to walk on a leash and I'm doing better each day. I'm food motivated, so bribing me with treats has helped me excel in my training. Everyone says I'm a GREAT looking dog and ... (Read More)I've got the personality to match. As an added bonus, I'm fully house trained and crate trained. I am neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $250. If you think you might have the right home for me, please visit the Valhalla Canine Rescue website at www.valhallarescue.org/ourdogs/adoptable and fill out an adoption application. My adoption fee allows Valhalla Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay/neuter services) for dogs like me while we look for our forever homes. This fee also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs who require longer stays in the shelter, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
