'...YOLO' Are you looking for a cuddle partner, a bed hog, or a shotgun rider? My people say I am all of those, plus I have brains, though I just need to learn how to use them. According to them, I cannot get by on looks alone, even though I try. I would also enjoy a dog companion, though not required, I would like to sometimes be in the companion of my species from time to time. In fact, I haven't meant a dog I don't like. A backyard is must for me, and it needs to be fenced as I have a tendency to roam. If you would like to meet Floki, he is being fostered in Bellingham and his adoption fee is $250.00

Teagan Brindle Male 6 Years Old Fostered in Poulsbo, WA Kid friendly of all sizes Dog and Cat friendly Timid when first meeting people Excellent recall and house manners Greetings People, my name is Teagan. I come to Wigglin' Home Boxer Rescue from excellent upbringing. My mom and dad fell upon some very hard times medically. To be certain I would be well cared for, they contacted WHBR. They had cared for me since I was a puppy, teaching me the right way to behave with my Boxer manners. They were sad to give me up, but showed their love for me by picking a great rescue. My foster dad thinks that I am Batman with my beautiful all ... (Read More)black mask and my alternating light brown and black stripes. My body isn't the most svelte, but I'm working on firming up the areas that matter most. I think of myself more as Robin, the trusty sidekick. I like to follow and help keep you company. Dad just wants to build me up to be the hero to make sure that I get all of the credit. Let's discuss my house manners, as everyone says that I have some of the best around. My willingness to share my food dish and take my time eating has gotten praise from my family. If I need to go outside to use the grass, I can even jump up and down and paw at the door handle to get your attention. And once you say, 'outside', boy does that make me happy! 'Car ride' or 'let's go', man oh man, that makes me twirl and jump. Mom and dad invite me up on the couch, too, when I give them the eye. That's one of my favorite spots. Sometimes I like to sit right next to you, but not right on top of you like the other kids in the house. That's not the way mom taught me. The other place I like to hang out with you is on the floor at your feet. I would like to mention my sleeping arrangements. Your bed. Is it nice? Does it have any room for me? Well, of course it does. I don't take up much room, and I will give you a space to sleep next to me. See, I like to lay down at your feet, don't worry, I'm very considerate of your needs for space and don't encroach too much. Can we talk about what I need from you? It's not much really, just an accepting dog friend, or children, and a fenced in yard to do some light exercise in. I can't run as fast as most dogs, due to my knees; they hurt if I work out too much. I would even consider being an only child, that's what my previous arrangement was. Dad here, Teagan is a well behaved gentleman. He is reserved at first when meeting new people, but quickly warms up. He's not much of a kisser, just loves to wiggle his nub. We have been for a few walks in town on leash, and he does excellent when meeting dogs and people. At home he plays a bit reserved with our dogs, and has excellent recall. He even recalled when his house mates were chasing the local rabbits. Pretty awesome! We have left him out at home for three to four hours with no ill effects. He's not interested in human belongings besides laying on them. Teagan rides well in the car and gets super excited when the words 'Let's go' or 'outside'. He uses the outside facilities when he needs to. He knows how to get your attention for loves, nudges under the elbow, and just pushes right in. I think Teagan would do very well with a laid back housemate, and children, an occasional walk, and hopefully a daily car ride. If you think Teagan is the right guy for you fill out an adoption application- http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp. @wigglinboxers #boxerdogs #dogrescue (Less)

Trevor 2 Years Old Male Neutered Crate Trained House Broken Dog Friendly (Big and Small) Cats ok, curious but respectful 100lbs NO KIDS UNDER 12 due to my size Fostered in Spokane, WA Hi, I'm Trevor! WHBR rescued me from a shelter in California. I had lost a lot of weight at the shelter because it was a weird & scary place. You know what isn't weird and scary? My new foster home. Now that I am no longer scared I have been eating well and have gained back all the weight I had lost. I'm looking pretty good if I do say so myself. I'm pretty chill most of the time and enjoy just laying next to you wherever you are. Don't get me wrong I ... (Read More)have lots of spunk and love to play. My play style matches my size--BIG!. My Boxer foster brother loves playing with with me. I want to play with my little foster fur brother too, but the feeling isn't mutual. I respect his wishes though and let him have his space. I think I intimidate him a little. If he only knew what a big fluffy marshmallow I really am. I have just discovered squeaky toys and will chew on them for hours. I just need ones that are tough enough for my powerful chewing! I have been known to grab a shoe or slipper if I can't find my toys. I really like grabbing your shoes when you trying to put them on. I think it's pretty fun but my foster dad doesn't. Did I mention I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE playing tug-o-war! Remember how I talked about my spunkiness? Well I love to play, but you need to know I am SO big and my mass velocity combined with my energy and zoomie power to the tenth degree can result in some pretty epic collisions. I would love a forever home where I can have some playmates, but even though I love every dog, I'm probably too big to have little kids around. My big head and strong tail and puppy-ness would be a hazard for anyone/anything low to the ground. I am getting better on walks with my no-pull harness, and mom and dad have been working on basic commands. I am a quick learner and treat motivated. My foster dad even took me to a professional trainer and I did really really well for it being my first time and all. I would definitely benefit from some additional classes. I'm a super happy guy and would love to be your forever dog! Foster dad here: This guy is a chowhound, and for good reason-he was starving in the shelter. He is one of the happiest guys we've ever met, always smiling, always bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. He just wants to be your pal and will definitely be your shadow, and he really wants to please you. He's going to need a strong, active family though, someone who can work with him consistently and provide structure so he continues to learn that now that he is older his puppy like behaviors are not appropriate. He needs someone able to handle his size and his puppy-ness at the same time. He can be a little 'mouthy' but doesn't bite, so he needs consistency to learn. He loves car rides and is always raring to go. He plays hard and crashes hard. With a little training, he will be the perfect dog for a great family! Are you ready to open your heart and home?     Willow & Figaro Willow 8 year old brindle female not spayed. Figaro 5 year old fawn male neutered Dog, cat, and kid friendly Basic obedience skills. House trained Fostered in Billings, MT Meet Willow and Figaro, a bonded pair who can't stand to be apart. These two are very sweet and love attention. Both love to play in the yard. Each has their favorite toys and both love stuffed animals. They have no problem being left home alone as long as they are together. They enjoy jumping onto a bed to cuddle up with the kids at night. Easy going and eager to please, these two are willing to lounge around inside or hang out in the back yard ... (Read More)without complaint. Figaro is a little more active and even getting a toe removed hasn't slowed him down. He loves being taken on walks but Willow, being a bit older, prefers to keep them short. Either way both are perfect on a leash. Figaro can be protective of his girl Willow, but he hasn't any problems with female dogs or little dogs. These two are very social and calm. I have not heard either one of them bark. They are very treat motivated and have the sit command down pat. Through everything, their little butts haven't stopped wiggling. Willow and Figaro traveled lots of miles to get to Billings, Montana from California and were perfect angels the entire way. A pair of pawfully perfect pups that will be an excellent addition to anyone's family. http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kuiaha 10 Years Old Boxer/Lab Mix Fostered in Burien, WA Hi there! My name is Kuiaha (my foster mom calls me Huey) and I hail from the beautiful island of Maui. Yep, Hawaii. I found myself at the shelter after my parents had to move to a place that would not allow dogs. I'm so good and adorable, so the shelter contacted Wigglin' Home Boxer Rescue and asked if they would be interested in finding me a home. That's how I ended up in the Seattle area. I'm a very good boy and my foster parents love having me around. My foster mom says I'm such a good boy therefore I can sleep anywhere I want. I live with my foster sister Sofie, also a ... (Read More)rescued Boxer. She's 11 and not in great health but she's a gracious host and let's me get away with finishing her meals and sneaking a catnap in her bed. She just gives me 'the look.' I think my favorite place is outside (after all, I'm from Maui). Under the apple tree in the shade is great place and when I get a little cool, I make my way into the sun. My leash skills are pretty good and I enjoy the practice. I listen and follow the sit and stay directions very well. When I see it's time for 'Scooby Snacks', I walk in the kitchen and sit down without being asked. Overall, I am a very sweet, ten year old Boxer-mix with a great disposition. I'd rather not be completely alone, so a fur sibling is preferred, or a stay at a home mom or dad. Oh, and I LOVE grain free wet food mixed grain free kibble, and coconut oil. Not only does it make my coat feel wonderful, I love it %8D Foster Mom here. Kuiaha is the sweetest boy. He came out of the crate from Maui with his tail wagging a mile a minute after five hours in a crate, and on an airplane! He's such a happy boy. No bad habits, doesn't chew on things, does not counter surf, or get in the garbage. He gives a little whine cue when it is time to go outside; on nice days he loves the back door open so he can come and go as he pleases. He and his foster sister Sofie stay home alone while we are away and they get along fine. Kuiaha loves his walks. He is not a barker. Every once in a while he will let out a bark, but not very often. Kuiaha is not dog reactive. On our walks, we encounter lots of barking dogs behind fences and he just keeps walking. He ignores cats. He is perfect--well except for that wagging tail which should be considered a lethal weapon You can find the link to the online adoption form on the left side of our Facebook page, under the banner on our Website, or here http://tinyurl.com/WHBRAdoptApp. (Less)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Scooter II 6.5 Years Old Sealed Brindle (you can really see my brindle in the sunlight) Male Long Tail Fostered in Eugene, OR Hey there all, my name is Scooter II and I am a fun-loving, easy going guy! At 6.5 years old, I have outgrown the annoying puppy nonsense--you know, the chewing, digging and such. I pride myself on my ability to blend with you and your pack and follow your lead (I even like those furry cat things). My foster mom says I have a huge heart and a sweet face. I love it when she calls me 'Scootsie', I come over right away for kisses, I really like those and belly rubs too!! I pretty much just like to be where you ... (Read More)are, whether you are working around the house or we are cuddling up to watch T.V., I will join in! Don't get me wrong here, I am not just a bump on a log, I like to run around outside and wrestle with my new fur brother but I am a courteous house guest and will always stick to playing with just my own items! Foster mom has discovered that I really like cheese and peanut butter too, but no carrots! What is the point of the veggie I ask!? If you already, don't want to adopt me let me say that I am very good in a crate (although probably not needed), I know sit and am currently working on 'leave it'. I am pretty good at walking on leash too but am undergoing a mini refresher course and am doing very well! I do like to sniff and explore so for that reason foster mom says that whoever is interested in me will need a fully fenced (6ft) yard to keep me safe. 'Boo' I say, bring on the adventures! I also sleep in my own bed at night next to yours so that you can rest better and keep your bed 'hair free' however, I would jump at the chance to snuggle up there with you if you asked me!! Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Wyona Spayed Female No cats 4 years old Fostered in Newburg, OR Yep, I'm just like Wyona Judd--sassy, spunky, never aging, and loved by many. My friends call me Winnie for short. Speaking of short, these short little legs love to go. If you are looking for a gal pal to go on walks, run on the beach, and help you stay in shape, I am a perfect fit for you. I get excited when I am out and about and I feel like I am on a mission so I am learning how to stop and window shop. Some practice with me on the leash will get me on the right track. Like Ms. Judd, I'm a crowd pleaser. I love to be around people. I am a very happy-go-lucky girl who ... (Read More)loves to snuggle. I love affection and will follow you everywhere you go, waiting for that hand to pet me. I'm great with male dogs and play well with others. Sometimes other female dogs forget that I am the main act and they are the opening act. Next tour I'm going to find an all-male opener. Now Wynonna has a set of pipes but I do not. I don't bark at other dogs, cars, or people. I don't jump on people, either, which is a good thing since I have some muscle on me. I know some commands, such as sit, paw, and go get it. My foster mom says I don't get to pass finishing school until I learn stay. Apparently that one will take a while, well in my case. I'm house and crate trained. I like the crate, it reminds me of my tour bus--safe, secure, and has air conditioning on hot days. If you want a super star dog, you will find that in me. I've always wanted to be a duet or even part of a group band. If you have an opening in your home/band, and think I will be a great fit then fill out an application below. It'll be a love song. Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Annaliese 4 Years Old Boxer/Dingo Mix Fostered in Springfield, OR OMD! I got my body back and my mental state has returned--phew! Being a homeless single mother with four hungry pups can sure suck the life right outa ya. So happy all my pups have been adopted into loving and caring homes. Now that I'm rejuvenated, I'm ready to find my furever family too. I'm nearly over my post traumatic stress of needing to protect me and my pups. On the streets, it was necessary to be very wary. I'm still a tad shy meeting new peeps, but if you are calm and patient I will warm right up to you. With healing comes trust and I'm gaining more and more ... (Read More)daily. I love/crave human affection and touch. The more I get, the more I trust. My leash skills are developing, and I need a quiet reminder every once in awhile to not hunt the squirrels; but seriously, yesterday I needed to hunt those lil' buggers to feed four hungry mouths. I know 'sit', am working on 'stay', and am very treat motivated so learning more will be a cinch. I also like other dogs, but I'm leery of the ones who run up into my face. I'd rather start with the rear ending inspections first. I am learning how to play with other dogs. My opportunities to play were limited when parenting responsibilities were the center of my existence. My foster mom says that the perfect family is looking for me too! I'm housebroken and will crate when you need me to. My preference is being out with you, but I don't complain when crated. My mom says that I'll really like the beach when I get to go there some day. I'd love to have kids or people who want to play with me and maybe a dog pal. Are you the people who will take me to the beach and show me the world? I hope so. A word from Annaliese's foster family: Annaliese is the sweetest, gentlest girl around even without considering the difficult life she had before coming into rescue. She will warm your heart, make you smile every day at her goofiness, and oh my those ears! You cannot help but smile at those dingo ears. She is a loyal and generous little girl, and she will be your best friend forever. She hasn't had a lot of experiences and is a little tentative when presented with a new situation, but then she jumps right in and starts exploring. She's smart, curious, and a total love bug. Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Scrappy 2 Years Old Kid loving Boxer/Bulldog Mix Fostered in Hood River, OR Scappy's foster left for a much needed vacation. So Scrappy needed to move into a new foster home. He has been settling well and we've learned some more about this special giant of a boy. He loves our three year old daughter, gives plenty of kisses. However he doesn't realize his mass is so much bigger and bumps into her at times. She's used to it in general and only yells his name occasionally. The hollers don't bother him, he just keeps on smiling. His hair is growing back in some of his wound areas, both from the surgery and the pressure points from ... (Read More)laying on concrete. The rough spots are definitely softening up. He is gaining muscle in his back legs. A much needed step. As he builds those muscles he is becoming more stable and not so bumbling. As his health has been returning so has his playful side, he'll romp with the dogs and, is eager for car rides, and looks forward to walks. Earlier Bio: Hey guys & gals - Scrappy is in the house! Everyone knows when the majorly cool, 80 lb. dude arrives. I've had to survive a lot in my life and the outside of my body carries many scars but my inside is a giant puddle of love! I love everybody and because I'm Boxer/Old English Bulldog mix, all that love just oozes out my jowls. People say I should come with a bib. That also applies to the water bowl & food dish. My theory is I'm not sloppy just generous. I share my stuff all over the place. I've got a bunch of dog buddies at my current pad, both male and female, and they're all A-OK with me. I do 120 lb. dogs and 5 lb. dogs and everything in between. I'm way too chill to be worried about other dogs. My current folks think I'm so cool they've even given me extra names like - Goofy, Hooch, Doofus, Goober. Are you getting the picture?? I'll be your snuggle buddy on the couch for as long as you want. I'm also a great conversationalist with a large vocabulary - whimpers, purrs, whines, snuffles, yawns, grumbles, mini howls, sneezes and deep rumbles. There is one secret I need to share - Mom says I have a strong prey drive. When I see a squirrel, cat, rabbits, little dogs or chickens (even in a cage) I go from Clark Kent to Superman in 10 seconds so dogs are my best bet for home companions! A note from foster Mom: Scrappy is the biggest goofball around. He is a quirky, bumbling, adorable big guy with a huge personality who will make you laugh til you cry and give you his heart with no reservations. He's house, crate, and leash trained, loves car rides. This Goofy guy will fill your day with joy!! Coming into a California Shelter as a stray and being scared and starving. Then life changed--I was rescued and brought up to Washington to my foster Mama and I am so loving the good life now. I am very skinny but now getting a lot of yummy food 4 times a day. It is like amazing. No more scavenging for food, it just shows up in this bowl constantly throughout the day. I sure like that. I am a very handsome sweet old guy with lots of love to share. I get along with all my doggy ... (Read More)friends here -- males, females and a little Chi. Laying on comfy dog beds is almost as amazing as the magic food bowl. So happy old bones don't have to suffer the hard ground any longer. Im not fond of the rain but I do go out and do my business like Im suppose to. I love walks and walk great on a leash. Car rides are my favorite, I do need a boost to hop in. I sleep all night on my dog bed and don't get up till everyone else does. Then its potty time and yes again there is that food in the bowl thing again. Heaven. I'm fine with kids that are respectful and I prefer the older ones, since I am just a lay around kinda guy who doesn't really play much. I look at toys when the other pups are running around and I'm not sure why they are doing that. Maybe some day I'll give it try. I love to be with my people but I am not needy or anxious if they walk out of the room or go somewhere without me. I am crate trained but do fine being left out. I love to take naps but if you grab your keys or leash--you would think I was a younger pup. I don't mind baths and I love the massage of being towel dried, especially after I come in from takin' care of business out in the rain. I will even rub up against the other dogs to dry off. I am the sweetest boxer and perfect fur friend to hang around with on those lazy Sunday afternoons. I am looking for a family that is home more often than being away working all day. Taking me to work would be awesome, since I am such a friendly guy I can be a great customer service guy. A retired household might be just the ticket. So if you want a dog that doesn't chew things up, knock you over, counter surf like all those young ones do. And you just want a guy to spend time with you and lay his head in your lap, showing you how much he loves you, go fill out a app so we can meet. Foster Mom thinks I am the perfect specimen of the boxer breed. Signed Rufus with love. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
