Rescue Me ID: 14-04-04-00474Roxie (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

We have had Roxie over a year and she is just about three now. She has been a fantastic companion up until her spay when she went through A hormonal change. We have talked to behaviorists, trainers and our vet and they told us since this change she has been trying to establish her dominance over our 10 year-old male Yukon. We have done crate and switch but in all honesty it has become too hard considering we also care for an autistic child with other behavior issues. Its just too much stress. A little more about her, she is a American Pit bull Terrier, Boxer, Great Dane and Lab mix. She is about 75lbs give or take from her last checkup. She ... (Read More)is aloof with strangers in the home but out at the vet and on walks she does great but we think she needs a single pet home because we can't guarantee how she will react after her dominance displays over Yukon. She has never drawn blood or hurt anyone but it has been traumatic for Yukon. She has her quarks like watching tv and even growling at livestock on tv. She is a watch dog and barks but that is easily corrected. She is very very loving to her people And loves to cuddle. She would be a great jogging or hiking companion. We never dreamt it would come to having to let her go but the stress for Yukon and us is just to high. We love her to death but it's just not feasible for us to keep her or him in this situation. Its heartbreaking for us and we have had many sleepless nights coming to this descion and after much advice and pondering we have come to the conclusion that a re-home is our best option. We need help soon, by Monday. We just can't manage them and the kids everyday anymore. It is an urgent matter but no reflection on her. She knows all the basic commands, even high fives. When being bathed she just lets it happen. Doesn't fight it at all. I can't reiterate enough how difficult this is and how much we love her. We never thought a simple spay would change her attitude to Yukon so much. Please we need help soon. She is a lovable couch potato that just doesn't get along with one of our other dogs anymore. You'd be lucky to have her. P.S. she is up to date on vaccines. And we are terrified if she was taken to the Humane Society she would euthanized just for the way she looks.PLEASE HELP. Call or text day or night. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-02-00117Lucy/Luna (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Luna and Lucy are two female American Bulldog / Boxer sisters from the same litter. They have been together since birth. We are the second owners and have had them for 2 1/2 years. They are great dogs; one is very energetic and the other is super calm, but both are very happy and loving. They compliment each other perfectly and must stay together. They are so close, often sleeping on top of each other on our huge couch, just because they love to cuddle with one another. They are allergic to eggs and eat a grain-free food. There is a great generic alternative at Costco that keeps within our budget! No other medical conditions. The girls ... (Read More)will come with two large ASPCA crates and their bedding. We would like them to go to someone with a loving family and large, fenced yard to provide. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-02-00071Roxie (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

We adopted Roxie roughly one year ago, she is almost 3 now, and she has been good for us up til now. It breaks my heart to pieces to have to put her up for adoption but over the few weeks she has become increasingly aggressive to my 10 year old male Yukon. Since her spay really. She does not like doors. If she cannot see what is on the other side she gets very anxious and when the door is opened, if its my older male she attacks him. She wasn't always like that but we have become afraid for Yukon and as sad as it is for us she has to go to someone or a couple that has time to help her deal with her issues. She is potty trained, can sit, ... (Read More)stay, come, shake, high five, lay and for the most part just wants to be around her people. She is very very loving to her family but very alert and aloof to people she is unfamiliar with. We have four dogs and just cannot afford the training she needs or have the time to help her considering how she reacts to Yukon. She would be an amazing companion given the chance, she just needs helped through her issues and an experienced hand to guide her. She would be great for hiking or jogging or even just content to sit and watch tv with you, although she does not like goats or horses on tv and barks at them. I know I have said it but this is gut wrenching for me. She just needs a stable, loving, and adept home. She is a Boxer, Great Dane, American Pitbull Terrier and Lab mix. She is 75lbs give or take five pounds from her last weigh in and we have always been sure to be up to date on her care. I am very fearful if she was taken to the pound she would be put down due to her dislike of certain dogs and just the way she looks. But this cannot wait. I need help today. Please, a rescue would even suffice but she needs protection and a home. I know I am repeating myself but I cannot overstate how loving she is to her family, its just the few issues she has that we can no longer deal with and provide a safe place for her or our other dogs. Please, prompt responses. I have my phone all night and tomorrow, she needs a home by then. Give her a chance and you won't be sorry but as I said if you pick her up she will probably be very aloof. If we drop her off to you there will probably be no problems at all and you can get right into getting to know her. Anyone who has loved a dog can appreciate what we are going through, please help give her a safe place. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-03-30-00478Jackson (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

We have had this dog since he was born under our deck around four years ago, his mother was a boxer/beagle mix- his father is unknown. He is a great family dog- but we moved into town from the country. He wasn't socialized with other dogs- other than our own boxer- who he is fine with - and he is fine with our 2 cats. But he got out recently and attacked our neighbors Schnauzer- so $1000 poorer- and living in town now, instead of the country- we have been told to get rid of him. With the right family and neighbors I think he could be a great dog. We hate the idea of euthanizing- when in the right home he would be a great companion for ... (Read More)someone. We can send pictures if you are interested. Thanks. (Less)

Radar is a wonderful, happy, high energy pup! He is well behaved on his leash, but requires much more training. It is possible he has some Boxer in his genetic makeup, based on his play and energy level. He like everyone, but will be a great protector and loyal companion.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
