Rescue Me ID: 16-02-02-00454Axle (male)
Silly Axle! This 65lb, 18mo old boy is a typical Boxer.... loves people, has lots of energy and gets along great with other dogs. He's still a young boy so needs training but he's very smart and always eager to learn new things. He loves to go on long walks, jogging, hiking, car rides are ok... and of course, he loves to be a goofy boy when playing with the family in a fenced backyard. Axle will be a great addition to any home with a fenced backyard and children over 8yrs old. He has not been tested with cats so no cats is the home would be best.

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-02-00452Bandit (male)
Meet Bandit! He is about 4ish yrs old and weighs about 85lbs. He was recently surrendered by his long time owners (along with Bonnie, the German Shepherd girl also posted on this site) because they moved and decided not to take these very sweet dogs with them. Bandit is a gentle, friendly boy looking for a large yard and and easy going home. He would LOVE to have Bonnie be a part of his home, too, but he will be ok without her. Bandit loves to go on walks, hikes, jogging or just hanging out with his people at home. He is a wonderful boy and will make an excellent addition to any home with children over 12yrs old. NO cats for this boy.

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-29-00333Maizey (female)
Maizey is a stunning 9 year old spayed brindle boxer. She comes to us as an owner surrender as they have come to the difficult decision that their home life is not what Maizey ultimately needs and want the remainder of her years with a family who can provide her everything that they can not. Maizey is housebroken (she can be alone without accidents up to 6 hours a day) and currently has access to a doggie door and a fully fenced yard. We feel this would be very beneficial for her to continue having free access or a home where her family is home to let her in and out during the day. She is very sweet, likes to please and true to her breed. She is also very smart and knows several commands which she loves to perform. Maizey would do best with owners who are Boxer savvy and know the Boxer Breed. Maizey loves cats although she would like a home without other pups so her humans can focus all their extra attention on her. Maizey has a low grade heart murmur that does not cause her any issues. She does have some skin allergies (attributed to food and very common in the breed. She is up-to-date on all vaccines, and current on flea prevention. A Donation Fee of $100.00 is welcomed, and an adoption application can be found at: www.charliesfoundation.com. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-21-00385Jax (male)
Meet Jax... an 18mo - 2yr old, 45lb interesting mix of a boy... he is Boston Terrier, Boxer and also probably has some Staffordshire Terrier in the mix Jax is a sweet boy.... but quite insecure when he meets new people. A few minutes of calm introduction... and treats! and he's your best friend in no time. Jax gets along great with other dogs... but does not need another in the home. He is a very active boy so needs an athletically active jogging / running / hiking buddy. He's also VERY smart and although he still needs more training, Jax learns at breakneck speed. Because of his insecure nature, no kids for this boy and no cats.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-20-00572Duke (male)
Hi! My name is Duke and I am an energetic young adult male Boxer mix looking for a place to call home. Could that home be with you? I would love a family or single person to call my own. I am a very nice boy, and I get along great with people. I love children, and I do well with large dogs. I would be best in a home without small dogs because I have a strong prey drive. I'm sweet, affectionate, and I really love attention and affection from my humans. I'm learning how to walk on a leash and I'm doing better each day. I'm food motivated, so bribing me with treats has helped me excel in my training. Everyone says I'm a GREAT looking dog and I've got the personality to match. As an added bonus, I'm fully house trained and crate trained. I am neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $250. If you think you might have the right home for me, please visit the Valhalla Canine Rescue website at www.valhallarescue.org/ourdogs/adoptable and fill out an adoption application. My adoption fee allows Valhalla Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay/neuter services) for dogs like me while we look for our forever homes. This fee also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs who require longer stays in the shelter, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes. THANK YOU FOR SAVING THE LIFE OF A RESCUE DOG! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Washington
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.
