Rescue Me ID: 14-10-30-00553Brynn (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Brynn will be fully vaccinated and spayed before adoption. She is an 'under 1' year old brindle boxer mix and is on the small side. She was turned in by a college student and was severely under weight. She is currently a good weight but probably needs to gain a few more pounds. She is a lovebug and a super people pleaser. Crate/potty trained too! I would mark her as 'not good with cats'. She is 'too' interested in the foster kitten to be considered good with cats. Appears to have a prey instinct and wants to chase cats as a result. Super lovable with people and kids. Wants to be in your lap if possible.

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lola is a female Boxer blend about 60 pounds, born 5/5/13. She was born in a foster home then adopted by our family at 16 weeks. Lola is a very sweet girl with a loving disposition. She is great with our school age children and all of their friends. Lola is house trained and heads into her crate when she is ready for bed or a nap. She is still learning her manners but is doing very well with sit/stay/wait. She needs practice on a leash but is showing improvement. She prefers hiking trails instead of neighborhood walks. She does not get along with smaller animals, so she is able to relax and focus on her training better when she is ... (Read More)walked away from too many distractions. For the same reason, she will be better as the only pet in the house. One of her favorite places after a good hike is a dip in the pool or river. Lola is an all around great buddy! The kids love playing with her and practicing her tricks. She is a very sweet girl but our family circumstances/location have changed and she needs a new forever home. She has no health issues, all shots up to date (9/14), currently on a monthly regimen of Trifexis, spayed and microchipped. I am willing to continue two training sessions after adoption, provide a bag of food, and include her crate. An adoption fee and a home visit is required. Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

Buddy was abandoned in the backyard of a rental home along with his mother and sister. When they were found they didn't know their names or even how to play! They were severely malnourished and showed signs of abuse. Buddy and his sister's rehabilitation has been very successful so far. They've been fatten up, are learning their names, and they recently both learned how to sit and lay down! They are house trained and extremely bonded. They love a good jog and are learning how to slow down for a more leisurely stroll. They love to have wild chases together. They would make great indoor outdoor dogs, they do very well inside but are both very ... (Read More)active and love to play! However Buddy is a master of escape so leaving him for long periods of time unattended outside is not advisable. They both have some abandonment issues and tends to get worried that you wont come back, especially Buddy. Buddy is a very shy and sensitive boy, it takes him some time to warm up but when he does he is a total sweetheart. He even loves to sleep at the foot of the bed! He has done okay with some dogs and not well with other, especially small dogs. Buddy does well with kids but tends to get frightened with loud noises or yelling so older children would be better for him. He has a fear of water and really HATES baths! He's going to need a lot of training and can be a bit hard headed but he is a very smart and loving. Buddy and Daisy have been moved around to multiple foster homes now. This has made Buddy very weary of people and other dogs. He has exhibited some signs of aggression towards dogs but they are fear based. They are currently in desperate need of a foster home since my house burned down and I can no longer keep them with me. If we cannot find them a home they will have to be taken to the pound which is very full right now and we've been warned they will most likely be put down. (Less)

Roxi has been a pet of mine since June of 2013. I have another female dog who is 7, they get along great and sleep together every night on their bed. Roxi takes commands well, and is even trained on a boundary fence. She is very energetic and LOVES to go on runs and play fetch. Which brings me to my point of why I am trying to find a home. I have a new job and my hours are much longer than originally anticipated. I cannot leave her outside and I feel bad leaving her in a crate for so long throughout the day.

This girl knows how to party! Nola was hanging out at the bus stop, just waiting to see if anyone would invite her on an adventure. She was covered with ticks and they'd left her pretty weak, so she just sat want waited. She caught the attention of a wonderful rescuer and he got her to the vet. After 2 hours of tick picking and some much needed food, Nola was ready to go! Now it's time to find her new home, no bus stops necessary. This girl has spunk knows how to use it! She loves to play and would do great in a home where she had some kids to keep her busy or another doggie friend to run around with. She is working on her manners when it ...     Kongo is the sweetest girl to people and my best friend. Unfortunately, she can no longer live amongst other dogs due to an incident, and I am being forced to find a home for her. She would be perfect for a family with grown children and no other dogs. She is very active and loves people. She has the softest fur and enjoys constant attention. She would not be a good dog to keep chained up outside. She is around 55 pounds and 2 feet tall, and has recently stopped growing. I have her spayed and up to date on all shots.

St. Cloud's Rescue had the honor of rescuing Molly from the Dallas Animal Services after she had just given birth to 12 beautiful babies. Molly is a two year old, mixed breed, female that weights approximately 50lbs. She was an owner surrender to the shelter due to the owner moving to an apartment. Molly gave birth on March 3rd to these wonderful babies. We received Molly on March 19th. During that time she has received the tlc she deserves with lots and lots of food. Each baby weighted approximately 1 lb at birth. Knowing that you can only image how thin Molly was when she first came into our care. You could see every bone in her ... (Read More)body. She did her best to produce milk and feed the 12 babies the best she could. However, at three weeks her milk dried up. We have been supplementing the milk for the babies with goat milk and mothers milk replacement. Molly has been receiving 3 meals a day in order for her to try to gain weight. She is beautiful with a loving smile, great disposition and has been a trooper of a mother. We believe she is part Australian shepherd and a Hound mix of some sort. If you are wanting a great family dog that has many years of love and devotion to give, please consider meeting our Molly or one of her babies. In concern for families with small children, we will not adopt a dog to a home with any child under the age of 5. If you would like to visit Molly please contact St. Cloud's Rescue at www.stcloudsrescue.org or call 1-469-952-3332 or 1-972-679-5319. The first step in adopting from St. Cloud's Rescue is to complete an application. The application may be found OUR WEBSITE (not petfinder.com) at www.stcloudsrescue.org.     This girl has lived her life starved, abused, & on a chain. She now has a chance at a good life. She is UTD on shots and spayed. She is now available to a good home/rescue. The woman who picked her up said she was food aggressive with dogs. We have tested her here, and she's not food aggressive with people. Just to be safe, she will need to be fed when she's not around other dogs. She loves people and wants to be a lap dog. She is very sweet and loves attention. She is light HW positive. She has had a 6-month shot for heartworms. She was picked up from boarding today (10/14/14) so we finally have some more information on her. We think she is ... (Read More)a Boxer/Dalmatian mix now. She is SOO sweet and very goofy. She has a Boxer's temperament, and the spots of a Dalmatian. She laid her head in my lap almost the whole way home, and she swats like a cat (in a playful way). She is hilarious! She likes to play with dogs from what I have seen. She tries so badly to play with my dog, but my dog isn't sure what to think of her yet. She has been by our side since the minute we picked her up. She goes wherever we go. I think she will be a very loving and loyal dog and will make someone a great pet! 903-497-6003 text Chelsey if you would be interested in adopting this sweet girl. She is in the Tyler, TX area.     Rozzi is a very sweet Boxer, who was found living on the streets, by her foster. She has adapted well to a home environment, especially to her new soft bed she has had for the first time to call her own. Rozzi has really come along way. She is a true sweetheart who is gentle and so full of spirit. She is understandably shy though, when it comes to meeting new people. She really appreciates getting attention and giving you lots of hand shakes. But she also is content lying down close by, ... (Read More)relaxing and taking a snooze. It's unclear how she would do with cats since she has not been exposed to them, but she gets along with dogs fantastically. She would enjoy having a brother or sister to play with, but if not she will definitely need some playtime devoted to her. She has been stubborn on a leash, so she will need lots of help from her new family to get the hang of it, as well as additional training with basic commands. Rozzi is about 2 years old and weighs 47 lbs. She is housebroken, spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on her vaccines. She is 4-5 years old and weighs 60 lbs KIKI IS A LOVELY, WARM-HEARTED GIRL WITH GOOD MANNERS NEEDS PLAY AND CUDDLE BUDDIES. I hate to brag, but don't you agree that brindle is beautiful? I was a stray and ended up in a shelter. Nobody came to look for me, but I was told they'd work hard to find me a family who would cherish me for the rest of my life. It sounded good, so we worked out this foster arrangement until my perfect people recognized their perfect dog! Rescue Me ID: 14-09-17-00521Blake (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, I'm Blake....Miranda's fostermate! We met in the animal shelter and became great friends. We had a lot in common--mites, fleas, no hair!! And we really needed each other because we just didn't feel very well! But now, we are well and we have both become very loving, affectionate members of our foster family. We have two foster sisters that are so patient and attentive to us. They have ...taught us a lot about following rules! I love to play with Miranda and my foster folks. Miranda and I love to be outdoors to play and we even like to nap on the patio. We don't need to scratch at the door because we know the routine...foster family ... (Read More)playtime, meals and long naps are always indoors. I am very good overnight and do not soil my pen. Sometimes, however, if I am playing indoors, I forget to ask to go out so I use the paper (almost always) that my family leaves available for me. Foster mom says that I shouldn't be ashamed, it just takes us guys a little longer!! I am very anxious to please a 'furever' family like I have at my foster home! Blake is a Boxer/Pointer mix who is around 14 wks old and about 12 lbs. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. PUPPIES: Puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions, however, the adopter MUST come get the dog/puppy and bring them home with them. We do not allow our dogs/puppies to be shipped. ADOPTION FEE: $200 (includes spay/neuter, shots, microchip, medicines and other medical procedures, if necessary) ADOPTION CENTER: 2125 W Alabama, Houston, TX 77098 (between Shepherd & Greenbriar) HOURS: Saturdays 10 AM - 6 PM and Sundays 11 AM - 3:30 PM Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue.     Ace is a handsome 4yr old boxer. He has a very calm demeanor and loves to be around people. He is great around children of all ages, and does well with other dogs. He knows basic commands, and does really well on a leash. He enjoys being outside and would do well in a backyard. Ace also has an old injury that sometimes causes him to not put any pressure on one of his hind legs. He uses the leg while walking, but in a full run will only use three legs. Although he doesn't appear to be in any pain, it was recommended he receive a daily supplement for joint pain. Ace is a big sweetheart and deserves a loving forever home.

Meet Rosalie! This stunning, 55 pound, 3-year old girl will sweep you off your feet with her charming looks and her playful personality. After living a rough life on the streets while pregnant, she was rescued by Corridor Rescue and given the opportunity to deliver 6 beautiful puppies shortly after her arrival at our veterinary clinic. After taking great care of her little ones, mom was treated for the heartworm disease that the cruel streets of Houston left her with. She registered as only a low positive status and she made it through treatment like a champ. She was also spayed and treated for her mild skin irritation, caused from a ... (Read More)infestation of fleas. Rosalie is currently living it up in a wonderful boarding facility and she is heartworm-free, has put on some much needed weight, and is learning to socialize with other dogs, cats, and people. She is a moderate-energy dog, meaning she can be quite playful and will run and chase a toy or ball across the yard and once indoors will settle down for a nice, quiet evening either in her crate or at your feet. She gets along great with other dogs that have a calm demeanor, but can be a little impatient with high energy dogs or young puppies. She takes direction and training very well and learns quickly. She is always looking to please her human companions because she loves their attention. She loves to be scratched behind her ears, at the base of her tail and of course always enjoys a long belly rub. She is still in the process of learning her basic commands, but she is perfectly crate-trained, housebroken and knows how to walk on leash exceptionally well. Miss Rosalie is a true catch and she wants to join your pack. To foster or adopt Rosalie, please submit an application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the foster or adoption tab. Foster homes are provided with everything they need for their foster animal at no charge. Rosalie's adoption fee is $150.     I am an older lady and have been fostering Sonic. He is very good with me except that he is very active and I'm not. He needs a good pack leader. He is very intelligent, picks up commands quickly. He had a food agression prob when I first got him but I have been training him to sit and stay till I tap his bowl. He rides in a car well, loves to walk on a leash and is very playful. He is a puppy and full of energy but well worth the effort to someone that will give him time and training. I had him in training with Darrell at Pet Palace,Webster and he can answer any questions you may have. Thank you.

Hi Everyone! My name is McGee, as in Special Agent McGee, but my foster mom says I'm still a probee. I'm about 5 months old and I'm currently learning the ropes, so that I can grow up and go on special missions, like the big dogs. I'm learning all of the call signs so that I can communicate effectively with my commander. I am super smart and have already learned the signs for 'sit' and 'good boy' and am working on 'wait' and 'down'. I live with 2 skin sisters that I love, along with a cat, that I sometimes like to chase, but don't worry, I don't want to hurt him. I'm just curious and want to play. I also have 3 fur siblings in my foster home ... (Read More)and though I'm not really in to playing rough, I do like to do boxer burns in the back yard and wrestle with my my fur sister. My foster mom says that I'm so silly and very calm for a puppy. My favorite thing is to climb in my foster mom's lap for snuggles and a nap. I am currently working through some skin issues that I came in to LBR with, but I should hopefully be ready to come home with you in a few weeks and I can meet you any time! If you'd like to meet me, please contact my foster mom to set up a meeting. Lots of slobbery kisses, McGee. See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2764 (Less)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hey there, I'm Hotchner. Chics dig me; I have a gnarly scar on my leg so that automatically gets me in good with the ladies. You see, I was involved in a nasty accident that caused an injury to my leg. There's no need to be concerned with what happened; I forgot all about it as soon as the good people at Legacy rescued me and got me all fixed up! I am of a smaller to medium build, well shorter anyway. I like my food & treats so my foster mom says that makes me a little fluffy, whatever that means. I'm pretty quiet unless my foster brother starts barking, then I feel like I should chime in too but that doesn't happen very often. ... (Read More)I'm a pretty laid back guy. Even though I will go into my crate for a treat and not make a fuss, I can be trusted when left on my own. Unless there's a toy box'|I might feel like playing so I'll help myself to something squeaky. I know sit, shake and lay down; but I prefer to take my time doing these things. I just want to make sure that's what you really want me to do before I do it and you change your mind. The only things I get in a hurry for is when it's time to eat or when I see some squirrels or birds or cats that need to be chased. If you have these things in your backyard, I can be the critter patrol for you, free of charge. I love me some little kids. There are some little girls that live next door and I just love when they come to say hi to me. I wiggle my nub so much my whole rear end waddles back and forth. I'm very gentle with them too. I like to stand right next to them and if they sit down I want to be in their lap but I don't jump or pounce. I just want them to pet me and love on me. I also get along with other dogs of all sizes. We see lots of them when we are out walking and I'm always friendly; even when they are grouchy I just ignore them. Now, my foster brother on the other hand, he's much younger and more energetic than me. Sometimes he is just too much and I try to give these warning noises for him to settle down but I never try to bite him. Foster Mom tells me 'no' so I listen to her; I'm a pretty good boy. If you want to know more about me or better yet, want to meet me, let the good folks at Legacy know so we can set it up. Hope to see you soon!' Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hi there! I am so excited that you are stopping by my page and know you are going to be impressed with my sweet little self! I'll start out by telling you that I will need to stay with my foster family for a while. The vet told my foster mom that I have a skin infection and a mild case of Demodex mange. That's okay, because I am taking medicine and really hope to be all better before you know it. I don't go back to the vet for a follow up until late October, so I won't be available for adoption before then. In the meantime, it hasn't slowed me down and I am having fun playing with the fur kids at my foster home. I really like to play & ... (Read More)play & play some more. I have so much energy that it is a good thing there are two fur playmates here. I can wear one out and still have another one to play with....we have so much fun!!! I love to be outside and do Boxer burns in the big backyard and play chase with the fur kids here. I can even run faster than them, so I usually win the race!! There are lots of toys here, but I would rather play with the fur kids, or help them chase after the laser light. I have gotten along with all the doggies I have met and am nothing but wiggles whenever I see a new playmate. I am also very happy when I meet new people and with all this enthusiasm, I could accidentally knock over a toddler. I just can't control my wiggle waggle when I am so excited!! I was afraid in the beginning, but learned to use the doggie door after a few days and now it is hard to keep me inside. I also haven't had any pottie accidents lately and this makes my foster mom & dad very happy. Being outside and exploring the backyard is so much fun and also one of my favorite places to be! I don't like when I have to come inside, but my foster mom & dad don't want me to get sunburned. I know how to sit and understand what ''no'' means, but don't always listen. I am learning other things like off, down, shake, leave it and how to walk on a leash. I hate being confined, or restrained, so me and that leash aren't friends yet. I really like when foster mom gets excited and I get these yummy treats for doing what she asks. I will go in the crate to get a treat, but I just don't like being confined to such a small area. I have never chewed on anything I shouldn't, but I am a hungry, growing young lady. I always finish eating before everyone else and will help you finish whatever is on your plate, or in your bowl. You must not like it as much as me since it is taking you so long to eat! At night, I sometimes cuddle up next to one of the fur kids on their doggie bed, but I have another spot that I like even better. My foster mom and dad let me sleep in their bed and I get to snuggle up really, really close! This is my very favorite place to sleep!! My foster family thinks I will do best in a home with a yard, another doggie companion and no more than 4 continuous hours of crate time. I don't spend more than an hour or two in the crate at my foster home, as someone is almost always home. Once I am older and have learned all the rules, then it might be okay to leave me uncrated. Please reach out to your adoption counselor if you are interested in meeting me. Please also remember that we are currently not sure when I will be released, but hope to have a better understanding of the timeline when we follow up with the vet in late October. My foster mom & dad tell me that I am a very good girl and that I deserve the very best family of my own. They will be sad when it is time for me to leave, but many pictures and updates will be required from my new family. Thanks Again! Love Wrigley! Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi there! My name is Beckerman--I'm named after a pro soccer player! When LBR found me in the shelter, I was super injured. They think I was hit by a car. After weeks of nursing and intensive care, I now feel so much better! My foster mom says I may have a permanent head tilt and have mild hearing loss on my right side. But that's ok because I don't know there's anything wrong with me and foster mom says it gives me personality! I am extremely obedient and calm. I'm great on a leash and I love other dogs. Little kids seem to scare me so mom says I'll do best in a home with no small children. I am having a few more tests done and then I'll be ... (Read More)ready to find my new home!     Shadow is a Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier/Chocolate Lab mix under 2 years of age. He is housetrained and crate trained. Shadow loves people, children and other dogs but has not been around cats so we aren't quite sure how he feels about them. He is a bundle of energy and loves to play with other dogs. His tail is always wagging and his foster mom said he is the happiest dog she has ever seen. Shadow is a talker and makes sure he is loud enough for everyone to hear!     'Hi! I'm such a sweet sugar-face they named me Candy. I was brought to a shelter after living in the back yard all my life ( 6- 8 yrs). My ''family'' was going to have me put down. I was so covered in ticks they couldn't tell if I had any other lumps/bumps or not. Well I am clean and tick-free now. There were so many blood-sucking ticks, it left me anemic, so I had to get my health back, have a benign tumor removed and undergo Heartworm treatment .Now, I'm all better and I can go home with you.My Fom ( Foster Mom ) is AMAZED at how much energy I have now, compared to when she 1st got me. When you talk to me and love on me, my little nubbin ... (Read More)moves the fastest you've ever seen. I like to rest on the couch with you and snuggle. If you let me, I'll sleep in the bed with you.I can even jump up there myself now ! I'm not food- or toy-aggressive and I like everybody. Plus, I'm not jumpy, it's too hard for us older girls. Now that I am healthier, my Fom will help me lose a few pounds. I have a Fob ( Foster Brother) and we get along very well. I am very good about getting in my crate. Sometimes, when I see Fom putting on her work uniform, I just go ahead and put myself in the crate. I don't make much noise, so you have to ask me if I want out. Otherwise, I might just find a nice spot indoors to go, but I am learning that is not really people's favorite. ( I have never had an accident in my crate.) For a sweet ol' gal that never lived indoors till now, I've done great. If you feel you would be a perfect match for me, please contact your Adoption Counselor.'     Big Mack has had a series of setbacks in his journey to find his forever family. Things just haven't worked out for him and he's been shuffled around quite a bit and in the process got pretty depressed. Mack has been in boarding at Pup Hub Boarding for several weeks and has regained some of his cheerful attitude and has been a very good doggie! He has also gone on some outings with a volunteer and her dogs, and has done great with them as well! Mack is a HUGE people person and all the changes in his life have taken a toll'|we feel Pup Hub Boarding is the best TEMPORARY solution for him-the BEST will be when he finds his forever home of ... (Read More)course'|. Mack - #15331 - Boxer/Pit Bull/American Bulldog - About 1 year old and 60 lbs - Neutered and vaccinated - Reduced Adoption fee of $50!!! Not having had a DNA test done on Mack, my bet is that he has Boxer/Pit Bull/American Bulldog in him. I know one thing, someone will hit the doggie lotto when they adopt this boy. The ONLY thing he needs to be worked with is his leash manners. Since he is a 'walking muscle', he could pull the average person where ever he wanted to go. Mack loves the good life and loves to be the center of attention. He is very energetic, and will need someone who can exercise him daily. He loves people, and is super smart, so should respond quickly to training. He prefers an air-conditioned home to the outside heat and definitely deserves to be a member of your family and not a yard dog! He loves people very much-just can't get enough loving!! He also loves to cruise and is a great passenger and not a back-seat driver/whiner! He is easily amused with a rawhide chew and will stretch out and entertain himself if you're busy or gone! He does great using a doggie door!!!As much as he enjoys playing with other dogs, he also enjoys just laying/sitting beside us being loved. He also likes to give kisses. He does NOT get along with all dogs so you should use caution when introducing him to other dogs---GAP is happy to provide guidance in this area! I can't stress enough that Mack NEEDS a lot of activity-he needs a yard---it is really hard to walk him enough to burn off his energy--- and it would be perfect to have a doggie door as he is used to using one and has that down!!! He loves to play play play with other dogs too, but again, he does not get along with ALL dogs but seems good with MOST dogs---he is just an energetic fun-loving, doggie door type of dawg!!! Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tucker is an energetic 4 year old boy that is full of kidney bean dances and wiggles! He currently lives with 2 skin sisters (7 years old and 2 years old) and he just loves them to pieces. Tucker can be a little jumpy during introductions, but he calms down pretty quickly with some correction. He is currently the only dog in the foster home, but so far he has gotten along great with other dogs. His fur cousin is a Great Dane and he just loves to play and bounce around with him. Tucker has not had any accidents in the house or crate. He gets in his crate fairly well (with some treat bribes), and once he is in there he does not whine. ... (Read More)Tucker does need some basic leash training because right now he likes to pull and lead, but he is easily corrected when reminded that he needs to mind his manners. He is easily excited and doesn't act like a 4 year old at all%BD'%BD|he has the spirit of a 2 year old. He loves to be around his people! He loves cuddles and snuggles, and he likes to give gentle (not slobbery!) kisses when asked. He has shown no aggression with food or toys, and no aggression towards other animals (although he likes to chase squirrels in the backyard%BD'%BD|but who doesn't?). He also knows some basic commands like sit, lay down, and shake. We think that Tucker would do great as an only dog, or with other dogs. We aren't sure how he is around cats, but I don't think he would mind much. See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2701 (Less)

'Hi, Friends! Thanks for stopping to meet me. I'm Tanker, a boxer boy of about 75 pounds. I was a stray before and too young to remember my birthdate, so my foster mom is estimating I'm just over a year old. My teeth are really clean and I'd love to show you how I can chew on a rawhide or rubber toy. I love to play rough and wear out my foster brother and sister doing so. Sometimes I even jump around like Tigger! It would make me really happy to have a fur brother or sister in my forever home as I've got a lot of energy to burn. If you'd like to take me for walks or runs to use up energy, that would be great, too. When I want to ... (Read More)play, I use my loud voice to alert my foster brother and sister. For this reason, apartment neighbors may not appreciate my beautiful bark. Because I'm young, I'm sometimes unsure of personal space and like to get into yours. You just need to correct me and I'll do my best to sit next to you instead of on top of you. I'm learning to respect human space every day. When I came to my foster family, I was fighting a non-contagious skin infection. With great meds and love, it's gone. I also have a knee issue that may need surgery before my adoption can be finalized, but I'd still like to meet you if you think I'd be a good fit in your family. She is very silly, friendly, and at times LAZY. She can also be very active since she is so young. She is still working on doggy manners in regards to interacting with other dogs. Noel is very submissive and would do well with another dog that is too. Rescue Me ID: 14-05-18-00425Lulu (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lulu is a beauty! It's a shame that she was found living in a ditch where a volunteer had to crawl into the pipe to pull her out to safety. She was scared and didn't trust us, but why should she? She hadn't been treated well ever and she was just a baby. That day is part of her story, but the rest only gets better. Lulu is now about 1.5 years old and nearly 55 pounds. She's a beautiful mix of Boxer and shepherd. The fortunate thing about being rescued at such a young age is that she's perfectly healthy and only requires love and attention. She's been living in a foster home for her whole life and is potty trained, crate trained ... (Read More)(although she does not need her crate any longer) and social. She is very good with other dogs that are her size or larger, but tends to not appreciate the smaller ones or the cats in her life. She would certainly be happier to not have them in her new family when they find her. As for the humans in her life, she loves her foster mom and dad and gets along great with the older children that she visits with. Due to her size, energy and slight fear to loud and unpredictable noises, we think that her ideal home doesn't have tiny kids for her to accidentally knock over or to scare her. Lulu is an active girl who loves to run. She's never picked up on playing ball or fetch and doesn't generally play with toys either. She LOVES her Bully sticks and chews, so that is certainly the way to her heart. One of her favorite hobbies is chasing the birds and squirrels in her backyard. It's comical to watch and we hope she never catches one. She is more of an independent girl, but does enjoy a snuggle and occasionally will come seeking some affection. The cutest thing that Lulu does that just melts our hearts is when she just looks at you with her big brown eyes like she's trying to communicate something very important. There's no doubt she's saying-go get me another treat!. She also very much enjoys running and splashing in water puddles as if they were placed there just for her. She has a great time in areas where she feels comfortable, but is still quite timid if you stray beyond her typical stomping grounds. She needs an owner that will have the patience to continue working with her fears, but will also understand that she may always just be happier in her own space and not wish to be the dog park dog, event attendee or adventure seeker. She's more of a homebody and that can suit some folks very well. Lulu is a sweetheart, but still needs a little training. She is more than ready to meet her new people and let them help her to know that this world will treat her like a princess from here on out. If you are a patient, loving person that wants to help show this girl the good life, please contact us today.     Hello. I am Hampton. According to the dictionary, 'Hampton' means 'home settlement.' I think that's interesting, since I am looking for a home to settle in. I am about 6 years old. I am house trained. I love kids! I am trustworthy in the house all by myself. ( I really don't care much for the crate, so I behave.) I don't even get on your furniture. I'm just an all around great guy. My foster mom says I am a love-bug and an all around sweet guy. **blush**. She is deserving of such respect and treatment. I would love a chance to meet a new family that could love me for life. You should know that in my pre-Legacy days, I did not ... Since I arrived into Legacy's care, I have also had a number of bumps removed, and that's not uncommon for many boxers. However, I do understand that there is always a risk they will return. Legacy will provide all the information that they have on my medical care, history and treatment. I understand that Legacy has given me the very special title of 'Silver Boxer' which I display proudly on my bio page. But I do let mom know when someone is at the door. I am a little hard of hearing, so sometimes I need to be woken up from a nap if there is something you want me to do. Everyone here is trying to teach me about these things they call toys - I never had them before. I am not sure what all the fuss is about but that crazy young lady seems to think they are the cat's meow. My mom will post some more information when I get to know her a little better, but if you would like to have a lady around the house let your AC know. I would love to meet you! Love always, Sweet P(alizzi)' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2678 (Less)

Hey! My name is Walter and I've been with LBR for a couple months. Foster Mom says I'm a perfect gentleman and I am the easiest foster ever. Sure, I've got some grey but I've got a lot of love left in me. I live with 5 other dogs and get along great with everyone. I'm house and crate trained but mom leaves me uncrated when she isn't home so I can go out through the dog door as much as I need to. I love my food and take all my medicines with my food making it super easy to give me what I need. If you're looking for an older gentleman with spunk and sweetness you've found your match!! Rescue Me ID: 14-04-24-00045Effie (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Hi, my name is Effie! In my former life, I was known as 'Shaky' - probably because I am such a wiggly worm! A nice lady found me dodging traffic in the middle of a busy intersection. She was able to locate my owners about 2 weeks later, but they said they did not want me back. It made me kind of sad, but this lady was SO nice and she had two other doggies that I got to play with, so I figure it's better here than what might have happened to me if she hadn't stopped to pick me up. I love to play ball, and tuggies, and chew on bones. I am pretty easy to please! I like running around in the big backyard here, but it's super fun when I get to ... (Read More)put on the leash and go for a long walk/jog. The naps after those are the best you can get! Anyway, that's just a little bit about me. I would love to meet you and see if we can be best friends! Effie is a boxer mix, around 2 years old (est DOB June 2012) and 60 lbs. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Effie is heartworm positive, but is undergoing slow-kill treatment and is does not seem to slow her down one bit. She is house-trained, and does fine in a crate, but is still learning to go into the crate on command. Effie is working on basic obedience training: has almost mastered Sit, Down, Leave It, but is still practicing Stay and Go To Bed (kennel). She is about 50/50 on recall - seems to have selective hearing for that. :) She is very smart and really seems to enjoy the challenge of puzzle toys. Effie has done great with all of the new dogs she has met, and has been fine around the kids she's met at events, but would not be a good fit for a home with small children, as she is high-energy and does not necessarily understand her own size and power. Her cat-compatibility is sort of unknown; she has met a couple of cats and seems curious, wants to chase, but not sure what she would actually do if she caught up to one. Effie needs a home where she will get a lot of mental and physical exercise to keep her from acting out due to boredom. She would make a great running companion! If you would like more information on Effie, would like to meet or, or even adopt, please contact hollykelch@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on our website: www.forgottendogs.org/adoption_application - Thank you! Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Zack is estimated to be between one and to one and a half, probably closer to one as he still has puppy energy. He prefers to be around his caretaker, not left outside. He LOVES to eat. He is crate trained, but prefers, again, to be out with his caretaker. He is housebroken. Seems fine around other dogs and cats inside the home, though he does seem to want to play with the cats. He loves is foster sister, always wants to cuddle with her. Zack is just a big, sweet goofball with a lot of personality. He is on the hyper side so he would do well with someone who likes to run or some sort of exercise for his energy. ... (Read More)http://www.aarfhouston.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=6558552 (Less)

My name is Indy. I'm approximately 1 1/2 year old Boxer/Am Staff mix. I am up to date on all vetting, spayed, house trained, crate trained, and I walk very well on the leash. I am extremely hyper so it's best I am not around small children (under 10) as I love to jump and I am not always aware of how big and strong I am. I am a good girl, incredibly smart and will do anything for a treat! I need a large yard because I LOVE to run. My absolute favorite is WATER!!!! Hope I am the family member you are searching for!

Meet Betsy. She is a total sweetie pie! A happy and healthy doggie that has so much love, affection, and companionship to offer to her future family. And she's always good for some entertainment too! There is nothing Betsy loves more in life than being close to and loved on by people. If you need some lovin', Betsy is your girl! She might try to convince you that she is a lap dog, and she is pretty good at it too! She has this naturally happy, affectionate, and goofy personality that makes her so special and fun to be around. She's young and active and enjoys going for her daily walk and getting some good playtime in. In fact, she ... (Read More)has never met a tennis ball she doesn't like. She can entertain herself for a while with a good toy or bone and often likes to play on her back and drop her toy in and out of her mouth like a big goofball. Pretty cute stuff! She needs someone who has time to interact with her and really thrives when she's had some good exercise. There is definitely a lot of adorable playful puppy still in her! She is a hound/Am Staff mix (possibly boxer in there) with the most unique and beautiful brindled coat and big brown eyes that are very expressive- you can always tell what she's thinking. She's right around 50 pounds and won't get much bigger than that. In addition to being so sweet and loving, Betsy is very smart and has been quick to pick up training. She can do all the basics, but her absolute favorite is to shake. She is continuing to learn new commands and develop her skills in her boarding facility, but she will benefit from being with someone who will enforce rules and continue her training as she is eager to please and greatly benefits from this kind of interaction. She's a young and active pup who needs exercise and would make a great running buddy, though a daily walk is just fine. One of the great things about Betsy is that she DOES NOT POTTY IN THE HOUSE! At her boarding facility, there is a bell on the back door that she rings when she needs to go outside and do her business. (It's a standard small bell on a piece of ribbon that hangs from the knob. Unconventional maybe, but is an easy and effective way for her to let you know it's potty time. We will be happy to provide one to her new family if they would like to continue to use this method with her). She is crated when she is home alone and at night but she doesn't mind her crate and goes in willingly when you tell her to. Besides being potty trained, Betsy rides well in the car, walks well on a leash, unexpectedly enjoys a bath, and plays well at the dog park. She's such a good girl! We don't know much about Betsy's past before she was rescued by Corridor Rescue. She was found by a pair of our wonderful volunteers while wandering around the parking lot of a flea market, hungry and going up to every person there just begging for food and help. As soon as she approached the volunteers and realized she wasn't going to get shooed away as usual, the love fest began! She showered them with a ridiculous amount of love and puppy kisses and was SO excited to get some food and attention. Though we don't know her story, based on her behavior when she first came in, we think she had belonged to someone at one point and had been kept outside with other dogs and fed regularly, but didn't receive much, if any, attention or care beyond that. It's likely that she was dumped or had run away based on the area of town she was in that is notoriously known for dumped and neglected animals. It's hard to imagine anybody neglecting Betsy as she is just so friendly and adorable, but it is their loss and Betsy's gain as she has a second chance to have the home and people she so deserves. Fortunately, her past didn't seem to affect her sweet disposition and fun personality too much. She was a bit territorial when she came into the program, which is a natural behavior of dogs left to fend for themselves and compete for resources, but has not had any issues with that lately and seems to be in a different mindset now that she's adapted to life as a well-loved inside dog. Betsy is spayed, micro chipped, on flea and heartworm preventative, and up to date on all shots. She is a healthy and happy wiggle machine! Betsy is still a strong playful young lady and might do best in a home with older kids or adults, but only because her manners aren't completely refined yet, which will easily come with more time and training. She is not aggressive but may be too strong for younger kids who are easily knocked over or inexperienced with dogs. She really enjoys playing with other dogs around her size but does not play well with cats. No feline siblings for Betsy! She really is a special dog...so smart, affectionate, silly, and sweet. To adopt or foster Betsy, please go to www.corridorrescue.org and submit a foster or adoption application under the More Information tab. thanks! (Less)

Curious. Affectionate. Playful. Snuggly. Smart. Loyal. Yes, those words pretty much describe me in a nutshell! Hello, everyone. My name is Dottie, but you can call me Dot for short. I LOVE to play with toys and people. I have a huge heart and a lot to offer. I will show you how to be with your dog and enjoy every ounce of the time. For example, before I came along, my caretakers used to do the usual things with their dogs: take walks, go to dog parks, and feed them out of bowls. Now that I came along, I have opened up their eyes to a new way of living. I have shown them how much fun it is to run in open fields and play in puddles, or take ... (Read More)wonderful walks in the woods. I play and train with toys that dispense food. I will make you laugh with my goofy shenanigans. I am a perfect balance of playfulness and laziness. I am ready for a game of tug-of-war at a minute's notice, but will also lay back and relax when it is time to work. I am very good at playing with my toys by myself. I really do not require another dog to be happy, as I am perfectly happy with having one on one time with my family. You say you want a unique dog with lots of character unseen in any other dog? Well, look no further. You are looking at a picture of that dog right now! I am 4 yrs. old, weigh 60lb, and am fully vetted.     Hi, my name is JD! I am a sweet, affectionate boy with quite a story to tell! You see, I was found on the side of the road in Houston. Emaciated, dehydrated, injured and defeated. I was picked up by a good samaritan and taken to the city pound to be euthanized. The workers there did not even bother to take me into intake b/c they knew I would not make it much longer. But they gave me one last shot. They sent out a plea to area rescues asking for help. And that's where my life changed. Red Collar Rescue got the email and were at the pound within the hour. They took me straight to the emergency room. They gave me pain medicine and tried to ... (Read More)assess my injuries. I was just skin and bones, covered in fleas and mange. My eyes were sunken in and I had a gaping open wound on my leg. I also had two dislocated hips and fractured spine and pelvis. My temperature was low, I was in shock and my body was shutting down. The doctors did not give me much hope. The RCR volunteers sat w/ me for a while and then tucked me in for the night - not sure if I would make it through the night. But what they and the doctors didn't know is that I was no ordinary dog. My body was weak but I have the heart of a lion. And every day I surprised every one - getting stronger and working so hard to get well. After two weeks in the hospital, I was taken to my medical foster home. My guardian angels there took care of me day and night, cleaning my wounds, giving me lots of good food and love. I soaked up the attention, I wasn't giving up and neither were they! When I was healthy enough, I had two hip surgeries to repair my injured joints. And look at me now!!! I am a healthy 60 lbs now, about 2 years old and absolutely stunning. I have a great sense of humor, am very affectionate and when I'm happy, my whole body wags! I love to lay in the grass, take walks and be the center of attention. My journey has brought me so far and now I am ready to find a forever home! If you would like to adopt me, please visit www.redcollar.org to learn how.
