Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, my name is Buddy. I'm a blue boxer. LOL Just kidding! I'm part Boxer and part Blue Heeler. I'm 3 1/2 years old. I've been neutered, but you don't have to tell everybody! I'm up to date on all shots and I've been on heart worm preventative since I was 6 months old. I like to play catch, I'm a good watchdog, and I'm very smart. I know all my toys by name! I've only been around adults and teenagers. I do not like cats or squirrels. I am not a good traveler. I get very nervous. And that's why I need a new home ASAP. My family lives in an RV and they plan to hit the road on May 20th. They say it's not fair to me but I think it' more like ... (Read More)not fair to them! I'm house-trained, but hey! When the whole house moves, sometimes I move too!' (Less)

Animal ID: 15834Rucker (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Rucker #15834 appears to be a lab/boxer mix, around a year old, who is just a super sweet boy! He has a chocolate brindle coat with white markings. He gets along with other dogs, and loves to chase balls. He has definitely been someone's pet. Although he is energetic, and will need regular exercise, Rucker is the type of dog, who will love to lay down after exercise, and stay by his people. He is around 60 pounds, and definitely wants to please. He is smart and will sit on command. He needs some leash training, but we think it is because he has been kenneled up, and is a young dog who needs exercise. Contact the Euless Animal ... Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

This is Riley. Riley is about to be eight years old and she has been with our family since she was about 7 weeks old. She showed up on our door step and played with my son before my second daughter was born. She then promptly contracted parvo, but we nursed her through it and she's never been sick since. She has also never come into heat so she is not spayed. She is a very loving and protective dog. Unfortunately, she feels she need to protect us from our cats. Of which we have four. Three of which were born here and have lived here all their lives. Because of this, Riley has not been able to be in the house with us for the last several ... (Read More)years. We have to take extraordinary measures to ensure that all of the cats are completely out of the house or her sight less something terrible and tragic happen. Riley has also decided that the neighborhood does not need cats. Due to this we have had to keep her on a lead most of the time. This is no way for a good dog like Riley to live. She is excellent with adults and children. Just not cats, possums, rats, toads, squirrels, birds or anything else small she might consider vermin. I would take her to a shelter, but I fear that they might consider her unadoptable due to her age. She's only about 40 pounds, not really all that big, kinda smallish to medium size and she really is a lovely dog. But we cannot bring her in the house, and we cannot take her with us to visit friends and family as just about everywhere we go and take our other dog, has cats. I am desperate to find her a good, loving home. I know that we took on the responsibility for her when we decided to keep her, and there are some pit rescue places I've looked up that want to shame me into keeping her. Well, I can't afford the 'behavioral training' that they suggest, and I'm not sure it would be successful given her age and that she has terrier in her. So I turn to you friends, if you can see it in your hearts to take her in, or if you know of someone I can turn to I would appreciate it. This is no way for a dog to live. Please help us. (Less)

He does not have a single aggressive bone in his body and was eating gently out of my hand within seconds of meeting him.     My daughter rescued this sweet boy from the busy road he was wandering on. He is very sweet but we have three dogs already. All the no-kill shelters and foster organizations here say they are full and cannot take him. He seems like he will be playful but not high energy. Have not introduced him to other animals so don't know how he will do with others. Also don't know about young kids as my kids are older. He is a little nervous, so I suspect neglected, but really sweet. If you can give him a good home, please let us know.

'I am the dude! Sherlock here, letting you know that I am a big hunk of love - enjoying any attention I can get and planting myself pretty close to you, enjoying the floor as often as a bed or the couch:) Looks like I have a bit of recovery in my future - needing to get ''fixed'', then killing off these nasty heartworms! So, I won't be ready for you until halfway into May. Overall, I am a pretty good boy, but it would be smart to keep the counters pretty well cleared off - that ham can be a little too appealing and I am a big boy who likes to check things out:) I can sit, although mom hasn't figured out what signal I respond to - food ...     My name is Taz and I've been told that I am a BIG boy. They said I was 85 pounds. My foster family thinks I'm a pretty good boy but I have lots to learn regarding manners. I have learned how to sit,how to walk on a leash better and I'm learning more every day. Right now I would do best as an only dog but I'm working on my social skills. I'm not much of a lap dog but I love to snuggle in bed. I have learned to sleep in a crate and am learning to love car rides. I am gaining more confidence every day and I am becoming the good boy I was meant to be. See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2918

Dog needs rescue!!! Dropped off at Humane Society of North Texas located at 1840 E Lancaster Ave, Ft Worth, TX (817) 332-4768(a kill shelter!) on Friday March 27, 2015. The location could not advise when dog would be put down, but condition may be an factor in early euthanasia. Intake # A25261435 Boxer Mix female goes by Dingle. One year 5 months old. Unknown if she is a spay as Vet was unable to determine due to condition at intake. Real sweetheart, but needs owner with room for her to run. Dog found wandering the street emaciated and suffering from extreme neglect. Tremendous bounce back after overnight stay at Vet. Had full exam ... (Read More)and was found to be heartworm free and just started heartworm and flea prevention treatment. She was given first set of shots including: rabies, Bordetella, lepto, DHLPP, HHDP. She was diagnosed with worms and intestinal parasites, but is on medication for each which should clear within a week. Only significant issue is that she suffers from mange and needs to start a once daily treatment for the condition, but it is NOT contagious so she cannot pass it on to other pets.     Hey everybody, I'm Simmie! I'm 1.5 years old and loving my life now that I'm out of the shelter. My foster parents tell me I'm extremely calm for my age which is what makes me special. And while I do love some good play time, cuddling is certainly my favorite. I'm still working on my house manners but I'm getting better everyday....it's been almost a week with no accidents and I sit on command about 90% of the time! It's been a crazy couple weeks getting used to life outside the shelter while also being spayed and starting heartworm treatment next week, but I'm feeling stronger than ever and ready to be the happy, healthy puppy I know I was ... (Read More)meant to be! I'm a very good eater and know my bowl from my foster brother's. We can definitely share but come dinner time I know where my plate is :) We're also good at sharing toys...we like to play tug-a-war with our bones and play keep-away all over the house. Now that I'm getting stronger I've actually beaten my brother a few times. I also love to go on walks. The weather has been nice lately so I'm outside as much as possible. I'm told I do very well on the leash. Even if I get a bit distracted from a car or a neighborhood dog, all it takes is a quick snap of the finger to get me back on track. While I love a little exercise, I love a good nap too. I stay in my kennel while my parents are gone so I'm used to lots of sleep during the day. Did I mention how good I am with kids?! My foster parents have four (6 to 12yrs old) and I love each and every one of them. My gentle manner works very well them and we get along great. I'm definitely a hugger but it's an a very gentle way. I just like to be close to my people :) I can't wait to be a part of my furever family :) Love, Simmie See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2914 (Less)

I have gotten along well with the dogs that I have met. I seem to be pretty comfortable and confident around them. I have been around both small and large dogs and male and female and have done great. I love dogs but I love people even more. Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Patrick is a very energetic puppy. He need lots of attention and love. He loves toys and bones to chew on. I have two old dogs and he doesnt get alond with ine when food is around. I believe my old dog is the aggressor. But the start fighting and we are affraid they are really going to hurt one another. Patrick has the capability to be an awesome dog with lots of time and work out into him. I have recently /unexpectedly adopted two children (alond with my two ) and do not have the time to put into patrick anymore. He deserves more attention. Patrick sleeps inside at night and plays outside during the day unless bad weather.

We have to be honest, we are not entirely sure what Lizzy is. She has the coloration of a boxer, but the wired beard of a schnauzer. Whatever she is, she is darn cute, and she is ready to go home today. Lizzy is about 4 months old, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations. She is ready to give you puppy kisses and love you forever. She enjoys kids, and she would be a great family dog. Won't you consider bringing Lizzy home today?

'Jasmine is as sweet as any dog you will ever meet. She is very loving, calm, gentle, and wants nothing more than to give kisses. She is housebroken, and crate trained. She is very well behaved, is excellent on the leash, and is very good riding in the car. She is the ideal dog to be by your side, calmly sitting or laying. Jasmine holds a special place in our hearts, because of what she has been through. She was dumped in the country and left to fend for herself. She ran wild for 2 months, because they were unable to catch her. They were then only able to catch her, because she was so emaciated and weak. Today, Jasmine is a healthy, ... I am learning sit and stay, and learning to walk on a leash'| I like to chew it while my foster mom walks me.. I am very playful, but I love my naps. I have not had any accidents in the house, and go outside to potty when told to. I have a long tail, which you normally don't see with Boxers, and it moves very fast when I wiggle. I have a foster brother & sister, and I love to play with them, sometimes too much. They get tired a lot faster than I do. I am very kid friendly, and I do not jump too much ... (Read More)on them.     'Hi, I'm Tasha! I am a sweet and spunky 5 month old puppy. I get along great with my foster brother and sister, they are older and showing me how to behave while I bite their jowls and give them baths of kisses :) I do know how to potty outside and go to my crate, my mom is working with me walking on a leash...I'd never seen one of those things before! My mom thinks I'm pretty easy to work with as I just love treats and bones. I have a long tail like a little monkey, I think that is different than most boxers, but ... (Read More)everyone says it fits my personality?! I do love to play like most puppies but I can entertain myself with a bone for a while or just snuggle up on the couch all day and relax. Already housetrained, knows 'sit' command, walks calmly on leash (does not react to other dogs' barking), mellow, never nips/bites (you can touch all over her ears and mouth), gets along well with cats, dogs, and even kids (allowed all to come close at today's adoption event at Vintique), gentle with admirers of all ages who want to pet her. Laid back and behaved in living room during day (no pet messes/able to hold it until you walk her), so prefers not to be crated. She ... Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Brutus was adopted out of a local animal shelter. The adopter decided he was 'too big' for his small dogs and dumped him. A good Samaritan took him in, got him vetted, and is now fostering him for DFW Pup Patrol Rescue. He is a young pup (born around August 2014), and a Hound (possibly Treeing Walker)/Boxer mix is our best guess as to breed. He is going to be a big boy when he grows up! He is housetrained. Still being a puppy he will need an attentive owner who will let him out regularly and who has the time and commitment to help him through his puppy phase in life. He does well around children of all ages. He is humble and submissive, ... (Read More)sweet to other dogs, big or small. He loves to play! He hasn't been around a cat; however, we don't think he would be aggressive towards one. He is not food aggressive or destructive with toys, household items, etc. If you are interested in adding this pup to your family, please fill out our Pre-Adoption Application. The link to this form can be found on the home page of our website, http://dfwpuppatrol.com. It can be submitted via email to info@dfwpuppatrol.com or faxed to 972-767-4849. All of our adoptable pups have an adoption fee of $200, regardless of our expenses, and it includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test for pups 6 months and older, heartworm treatment if tested positive, deworming and/or fecal test, parasite treatment if tested positive, microchipping, any immediate known health issues, and pups 4 months and older are kept current on monthly heartworm prevention.     Hello, and thank you for stopping by my profile. My name is JD, and I'm a 4-5 year old male fawn boxer. I'm about 55 lbs. and have the most adorable smooshed boxer face you've ever seen! My foster parents say I'm the sweetest and most gentle/calm boxer they know. There was some confusion about how old I am because I am so calm. I LOVE to cuddle! I am very well behaved, don't get jumpy (I like having all for 4 on the ground), and my kisses are gentle. I love playing with all my house siblings, fur and skin alike. I'm not too sure about cats. I've seen the cats I live with, but just stand there. They come up to me, but I'm not sure ... (Read More)what to think of them. I'm just looking for somewhere to hang my leash, forever. After the rough life I've had, I just want someone to hang out with and cuddle on. See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2890 (Less)

Dragon has a cute head-tilt that we're investigating to see if it causes him any problems, and he will be going through 4 weeks of HWT [heart worm treatment]. Animal ID: 15052Paris (female)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Bonjour! My name is Paris and I am looking for my forever home. I am a sweet and petite boxer. I only weigh about 36 pounds and I'm full grown! I've been told that I am a pocket boxer, but I say don't let my size fool you. I am all boxer. I love to run and play just like any other boxer. I also love to lay next to you on the couch and cuddle with you. Since being here in my foster home, I've been spayed and had treatment to kill the nasty heart worms that I had. Now that that is all done, I feel and act like a new dog. I love to play with the other boxers that live here. Sometimes I'm so fast that they can't even catch me! I can be bouncy ... (Read More)and silly from time to time, but as soon as I'm told to stop, I stop. I've also learned that outside is where the bathroom is and now that is the only place I do my business. Here in my foster home, I sleep in my crate at night and when I have to be left alone. I'm not a huge fan of my crate and will usually cry for a few minutes, but I'm pretty quiet about it and I don't do it for long at all. I've been told that with just a little more training, I probably wouldn't need a crate at all. No one really knows where I came from or what kind of life I lived before, but I'm getting used to this life a little more every day. My one weakness is the same as every other females...I love, love, love shoes!!! Of course, I don't want to wear them. I want to play with them and occasionally, I like to chew on them a little bit. It's an addiction, but I'm getting the help I need and working hard at kicking the habit. LOL My perfect home would probably have another dog for me to play with, and I think I would like to have some kids that would play with me. I like to chase the kitties, so a house with cats would not be good for me. And one thing that is a definite must, is you must love a boxer that has a tail instead of a nub. Other than that, all I want is a home of my own with a family that loves me! ' See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2881 (Less)

Hey All - My name is Gino and I'm just starting to enjoy life. I'm told I'm extremely chill for young boxer boy - not jumpy at all but you will get some butt wiggles and nubbin wags out of me when I'm happy. I spent the majority of my 2 years living outside tied up and it was cold/hot out there not to mention no one ever paid any attention to me. Well, the nice people at LBR picked me up and they are in the process of fixing me up. No one bothered to give me heartworm preventative so I've still got to go through heartworm treatment and won't get to go to my forever home until mid-April or later. I was really scared when I first got to ... (Read More)my foster home because I didn't know what to expect but all is really great here. I'm inside all the time, except for potty breaks of course and learned the doggy door all by myself (only open when my foster mom is there). I'm a very good eater and am not aggressive with any of the resident dogs, but to be honest I'm not all that interested in them either - would rather hang with my foster mom. Mom says I'm mega sweet and actually begging for attention now and just started to experiment with toys. She allows me on the furniture but I'm currently just roaming the house while she sleeps - something about no more room in the bed. I sure wish I could sleep in bed though. I'm okay as an only dog but not so sure about apartments because I'll get a little vocal when something is going on outside. The leash is still something I'm not too sure about since it represents confinement in my prior life. I can be trained you know as I'm really smart even though I'm not very arrogant ;). The more love and patience you have to give, the more I want to meet you!!! See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2868 (Less)

'I have been with my foster family about 2 months now. They think I am pretty awesome! My mom thinks I am pretty young'|probably between 11-16 months. I am a total love bug and super sweet. I have been great with the kids in my house. They are ages 2, 5, & 8. I still sometimes bump them or play bow and bark when I want to play. I have also been great with the dogs I have met. I met 2 dogs on my way to my foster home and made friends immediately. I have also been great with my fur brothers. I loved playing with my foster brother Rex racing around in the back yard and wresting for hours non-stop. I just chill with Charlie, a 10 year ... (Read More)old Jack Russell and sometimes I can get him to chase me around the back yard. My mom says I am house trained. I do pretty well in a crate too. Sometimes I will cry in it if I can't see you or need to go outside but I settle down fairly quickly. My mom worries about apartments for me since I have a lot of energy and can sometimes be unhappy in my crate. Each day I am getting more and more comfortable though. Right now I spend a couple of hours a day in the crate while my mom takes and picks up my skin siblings from school. I get to run around the house during the day while she is at home and she lets me out when I stand by the door. I have a great temperament too. I like to play but am not too rough and let others initiate play. I often entertain myself with toys but still have a lot of energy that I burn by going on walks or racing around outside. I am just as happy sleeping on my comfy dog bed or my mom's kitchen mats that are super comfy too. She thinks I am silly. I am have gained some weight since I have been here now that I am safe and have a place to rest, eat, and be loved. I am a good healthy weight now at 58 lbs. I have a good appetite since I play so much and am young. I had a bump removed on my head that was a benign cyst. They aren't too worried about it but removed it so I didn't bump it or so it didn't get bigger. I am even more handsome now believe it or not. I had pretty itchy skin too when I came into my foster home. Doctors said I had a secondary skin infection and some mites I needed to get rid of in my ears and on my skin. Hopefully I will be ready in about 3 weeks and will be good to go and meet people. My mom is going to make sure they get me all taken care of. My mom loves me and pretty much anyone who meets me thinks I am great. If you think you might want an energetic sweet pup then check back towards the middle of April and let your adoption counselor know you are interested in me.     '(Hooper is currently working on some stranger danger issues and is not available at this time. We are hoping to have these resolved by the end of summer or sooner. Fingers crossed for my Hooper.) Hi my name is Hooper and this is my story.... Some good Samaritans saw that I was lost and alone and they gave me some shelter. My foster mom said that they posted my picture on Facebook and eventually my foster mom was tagged in the post to help save me. I was then picked up and taken to Dallas Animal Services to work out my stray hold in case my original owners were trying to find me. They never came for me but then my foster momma came to ... (Read More)the shelter and evaluated me. She approached my kennel but I wasn't too interested in her as so many people had already neglected me that I didn't have much hope. Then in the yard she kept following me, calling me, and once she got me she wiped my boogies and picked some bugs off of me. It was at that moment I knew she loved me. She then left the room and started talking to someone on this little black contraption. Next thing I knew she was putting a leash on me and putting me in her car!! I was so happy to leave that place. The people there were really nice but the other dogs were way too noisy and really needed to take a chill pill. Then we arrived at the new homestead. I have a super soft warm bed, food, water, friends, and I get tons of hugs and kisses every day! I have always been told that this is what Heaven would be like!! I was really sick the first couple of days with something mom called Kennel Cough. I got tons of meds, zero sleep, and lots of love and hugs! Now that I am healed and super happy I get to play with this new girl that looks likes me and throws some sweet boxer punches and some other small curly haired girl that mom calls her sweet poodle. I have gotten to get out of the house a couple of times and I get this cool contraption put on me called a harness, then we are off to the races! I get to see the entire neighborhood with all its sights, sounds, and wonders and now that I know I am not alone I really like going for walks! What a wonderful feeling that is!! I am learning how to be an inside dog. Mom says I have some training to do but I am super smart and will learn quickly. I start my heartworm treatment and rest on January 20th and then will be ready for adoption at the end of February. I already have a list of families waiting to meet me so if you contact my mom about me don't get too depressed if I am not available. She said I am a looker and very popular! My mom says that I need a home where there is not a lot going on. I get very anxious and nervous when people come over. I would rather it just be me and my people, however I am learning to accept new people coming over. I would also not like to be around little kids as they are unpredictable and I don't like unpredictable. Someone who just wants to cuddle and love on me all day, plus give me food and kisses is exactly what I am looking for. Please make sure to microchip and give your pets heartworm preventative! I love snuggling with my people as well as doing my own thing in my doggie bed. I'm incredibly gentle around children. I love being petted and having my tummy rubbed and I have the softest fur. I do very well in the crate when needed and I don't potty in the house. I love walks and treats and playing with toy ropes. I know how to ''shake'' and ''sit'' and I'm learning more commands daily.     I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs. Finney's Story... Meet FINNEY! One of the sweetest dogs on the planet :) Finney was dumped on the mean streets of South Side Houston when he was only about 6-7 months old. He is incredibly affectionate and loving- he leans on you and sits on your feet. And he actually GIVES HUGS! He wants to be with his human! Finney is very very new to our foster programme, (he has been off the streets since Dec 19th 2014.) From our observations so far, he appears to have a wonderful temperament- he gets along well with other dogs and seemingly cats as ... (Read More)well...though he does seem like he wants to chase the cats he sees, it's more out of play than aggression. He hasn't really been around children but he should be fine with kids 5+ as he does tend to jump in excitement (we are trying to work on this...) He is negative for heartworms, up to date on routine vaccinations, neutered, house trained, and will be microchipped at the time of adoption. This boy is lovable and a snuggly sweetie pie. Whoever dumped him in such an awful part of town had no idea what a doll he truly is. He will make a wonderful companion for life. We will update with more about Finney as we learn more about his personality. So far we know he absolutely LOVES a game of fetch and can go for hours! He is great, he runs back, drops the toy at your feet and leans on your legs waiting for you to throw it for him again! Please contact us for an adoption application as one must be approved for adoption before visiting with one of our adoptable pets. Thank you! (Less)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Adonis is the most beautiful boxer I've seen in rescue. He is well trained and knows how to sit, stay and lay down. He is house trained, house broken and wonderful with other dogs. He is very playful and goofy with squeaky toys. He needs socializing with people and the city environment. He is currently uncomfortable meeting new people. He needs additional training to overcome his fear, but he is well worth the effort. See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2841

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

 Abused/Neglected

Xylo (pronounced 'zeelo') was purposely starved by his previous 'owners' and dumped off the side of a freeway and left to die. We rescued him and are showing him what it is to be a loved pet. He is extremely playful and LOVES toys, which he likely never knew in his neglected past. He has really blossomed and LOVES to play fetch and can just go and go! He absolutely LOVES chasing and fetching his kong! Xylo is a boxer/HOUND, perhaps part lab, approx 3-4 years old, he can be pretty rambunctious only because he gets SO EXCITED that he has attention now. He is extremely attention starved after years of neglect at the end of a chain (we ... (Read More)concluded he was chained as he had metal residue around his neck when found.) For this reason, we would suggest he go to a home with older children, if any. He would benefit from basic obedience training. Xylo is extremely affectionate and loving. He is up to date on routine vaccinations, neutered, microchipped. He did test positive for heartworms and is on heartworm prevention. Won't you open your home to this boy and give him the love he deserves? Please contact us for an adoption application today :) (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Pretty Pepper Ann, that's me!! Who's looking for a happy, wiggly girl? I am a true beauty that hides her age well-no one believes I'm 7! Don't worry, I still have lots of energy for playing and wrestling. I dance and kidney bean with excitement but I am curious and gentle with little kids and love to sneak in kisses. I'm on the smaller size as far as Boxers go, but that doesn't keep me from playing rough with other dogs. I can take a hint though; my foster brother didn't like playing so I was okay to leave him alone. When it comes to kitties, well%BD'%BD|I jump into the bushes after the neighbor's cat. That fuzzy tail gets my ... (Read More)attention and I want to inspect it further. My foster mom isn't sure if I would get used to being around cats or not. Upon meeting someone new, I like to go up on my back legs to get a closer look. I don't pounce or knock anyone over, I'm just really curious to meet you. And I love getting attention, but who doesn't? I know to 'sit' for my leash to get on/off and I enjoy going for a car ride. It used to make me really nervous but now I soak up the opportunity to sit and watch out the window. When I first came to live with my foster mom, my bladder was not happy. Thankfully, with the help of some medicine and a specific food, things have long since cleared up. My health history makes it important for my forever family to keep me on my current food; you want me to stay healthy don't you? It also would be great if I had a doggy door or someone to let me out midday. Of course it would be awesome if I had a stay at home parent to keep me company too! I am crate trained and house trained. I even behave when left alone, out of my crate. Who doesn't need a little Pepper Ann in their life? I'll be waiting, ready for my forever family, to love you and keep you company no matter what.     Hello my name is Harlow! I have been in foster care a couple months trying to get better. You see when my momma came to see me in the shelter I was very sick and skinny. My foster momma promised me that day that she would come back and get me...and she did! I heard at my last visit that I am now big enough to get spayed, so I guess that is what is next. YIKES!! I love to play with my fur sister and snuggle and cuddle with foster parents. I am crate trained and love to go on walks. My mom is ... (Read More)working on commands with me and she tells me I am quick learner.     Its hard to imagine looking at this impressive and regal girl that she was ever sitting in a shelter, facing death, but she was. We saved her in her last hours and are so thrilled that we did. She is an absolute joy. However she is LARGE and is NOT good with smaller dogs. She would likely do best with 1 other submissive canine companion or no other canine companions, she's just a little diva and wants all the attention, which she deserves, but we're a bit biased. Animal ID: 14583Shae Shae (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'When I first discovered Shae Shae she was sitting on death row at the shelter, her time was up! She was an owner surrender that had given her up because they no longer had time for her. While I had never met this sweet silver girl, I could not live with the thought of her ending her 9 years of life all because no one had time for her. Poor baby had already spent several days in the death room watching other dogs be put down. I pleaded and begged for someone to step up and foster this girl but it turned out that my family was meant to be her foster family. I drove the 2 1/2 hours to free this girl and the decision to become foster parents ... (Read More)was the best decision my husband and I made. Shae Shae (Xi Xi) is Mandarin for thank you from the bottom of my heart, and this girl is indeed thankful. Her view is also very different for she no longer is surrounded by death and we have all of the time in the world for her. Her foster family consists of a 11 years old boxer sister named Cookie, a 2 years old deaf boxer brother named Prince George, a bearded dragon named Khaleesi, my husband known to her as Daddy, and me, Mommy. She also has Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and Grandparents, all who love her and have time for her. When I went to free Miss. Shae Shae up from the shelter, she could barely walk and could not get into the car on her own. I could tell that she was suffering from sever arthritis in her hips ad her grown out toe nails and obese body where not helping either. I did not get any monkey tail wags from her but she sure knew I was there to free her for she was ready to get into my car and hit the road. She sat quietly during the entire ride just watching the scenery go by. When we finally reached her new home, Cookie and George ran out to greet her and she greeted them back with a very lively monkey tail. She knew at that moment that her prior life was over and behind her and that her new life was beginning. Shae Shae has been apart of our family since October and she has opened up so much since our first meeting when she jumped into my car to be whisked away from the shelter. Shae Shae has severe arthritis in her hips and her elbows. From the life at her previous home and her being housed in a cage at the shelter, she had lost quite a bit of strength and flexibility. My husband or I had to help her up and own the porch stairs to go to the bathroom and she also needed help up and off the couch. Her poor legs where so unstable and she would wobble walking on anything that was not the solid floor. We got this poor girl on a diet and taking pain medications as well as supplements and walking every day. Now she is running around the yard playing with her fur siblings and she jolts up and down the stairs as well as climbs onto her favorite spot on the couch where she naps for hours and saws logs. I will now let Shae Shae tell you about her favorite things to do herself. ''Hello everyone! Thank you so much for reading my bio. I have been taught by my foster parents to be very gracious for the second chance at life that they have given me; and I am truly thankful from the bottom of my hear as my name means! I love the start of my days; my foster sister Cookie always greets me with tons of kisses! Foster Mommy then gathers us all up and we go for a mile walk in the country. We get to see cows, and turtles on the pong, and occasionally we see a deer! I just love to hop and a skip and a jump and a run! Mommy chases after me and says she is going to get my monkey tail but I am always one hop ahead of her. When we get back from our walk we get to do my favorite thing of all time, PLAY BALL! I may be 9 years old but I sure can run after that ball and sometimes I can still catch it in the air. I repay Mommy back by dropping the ball right at her feet. After ball playing it is treats (where I catch them all in the air) then nap time. Sometimes I nap outside in the sun but normally I nap on my spot on the couch. I would say that I have been given a great second chance at life.''' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2792 (Less)

Kiki is a Boxer & Rottweiler Mix that has been confirmed via Dna testing. She is 4-5 years old and weighs 60 lbs KIKI IS A LOVELY, WARM-HEARTED GIRL WITH GOOD MANNERS NEEDS PLAY AND CUDDLE BUDDIES. I hate to brag, but don't you agree that brindle is beautiful? I was a stray and ended up in a shelter. Nobody came to look for me, but I was told they'd work hard to find me a family who would cherish me for the rest of my life.     She's got the hips, and that smile- throw a jumpsuit on this girl and you can see why her name is Presley! Presley and her buddy Ina Pearl were living with a family who felt they couldn't keep up with the girls care. The girls were left outside a lot, and were getting thin.     Curious. Affectionate. Playful. Snuggly. Smart. Loyal. Yes, those words pretty much describe me in a nutshell! Hello, everyone. My name is Dottie, but you can call me Dot for short. I LOVE to play with toys and people. I have a huge heart and a lot to offer. I will show you how to be with your dog and enjoy every ounce of the time. For example, before I came along, my caretakers used to do the usual things with their dogs: take walks, go to dog parks, and feed them out of bowls. Now that I came along, I have opened up their eyes to a new way of living. I have shown them how much fun it is to run in open fields and play in puddles, or take ... I really do not require another dog to be happy, as I am perfectly happy with having one on one time with my family. You say you want a unique dog with lots of character unseen in any other dog?     'What do you get when you cross a boxer's woo woo with a cat's purr and a piggy's squeal? You get my signature sound. HAHAHA! It's the funniest little noise. Hi there! My name is Martha. My foster mama calls me Martha Jean. I'm a very sweet 11 year old gal who is looking for her forever home. I found myself at a shelter and I can't really tell you how I ended up there. It's a mystery to me. I'm as sweet as can be. I love to wiggle my nubbie and I smile all the time. My little ears perk up when my name is called or there is mention of cookies. I love cookies. Yum yum. I wiggle and smile for cookies. Do you like to dance? I love to dance. ... (Read More)I prance around and dance a little jig when it's time to eat. I'm a good girl and always clean my bowl. I also help clean everyone else's bowls too. No dog food goes to waste with me around, that's for sure! Sometimes, when I lay down for a nap I have a little bit of incontinence, so I have to take medicine for that. It's not a big deal. I take the medicine willingly. It's like an extra snack and I'm happy to oblige. Also, you should know that I have heartworms. Due to my age, LBR decided to not put me through heart worm treatment. The injections would have been too painful and the recovery period too treacherous. So every month, I get a heart worm pill to kill the microflaria so no new baby heart worms can mature. I do very well with that and have not had any adverse effects. I am crate trained and potty trained. When I need to go potty, I ring the door bell to let you know. The only times I have ever had accidents in the house is when no one paid attention to the bell. I never mess in my crate. I get along marvelously with other dogs. I'm pretty laid back and I just love everybody. Sometimes, I need a little me time and I go lay down in my crate by myself. It's my Zen den. I'm looking for a snuggle buddy who will feed me cookies and love me the rest of my days. That's all I want. I don't ask for much. In return, I will smile for you and make you laugh all the time. Could my new home be with you? I'd love to meet you. I'll melt your heart. Guaranteed.     Sawyer is a 4-1/2 year old male Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix that came from the Irving shelter. Due to his owner's health, he could no longer care for Sawyer and he was surrendered to the shelter. Sawyer became very depressed in the shelter and stopped eating and became very thin. After being in the shelter for 30 days, he was scheduled to be euthanized due to space. He was rescued by AFFT on October 2nd, 2013 and since being in foster care, he has been restored to a healthy weight and is happy. Sawyer loves playing fetch and he loves toys that squeak. He is a sweet boy who loves to snuggle and give kisses. He loves taking long walks and ... (Read More)riding in the car. He loves to swim in the pool and run in the water at Lake Texoma. He gets along well with female dogs (but is selective about males), is gentle with cats and kids. He has a lot of energy and loves being with his people most of all. Also essential would be an active family who would include him as part of their day-to-day routine. He is not happy sitting in a crate. Sawyer is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, housetrained, crate trained and heartworm NEGATIVE. He currently weighs approximately 55-60 lbs and is healthy and ready for his very own forever home. Animal ID: 13649Mattie (female)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, my name is Mattie and they think I am about 4 1/2 years old and weigh 54#. I have been living with my foster family for a long time now. When I first came to live with them I really didn't want anything to do with my two fur brothers and all I wanted to do was fight with them. After a few days, with the help of my foster parents, I finally realized that my fur brothers just wanted to meet me and be friends. We finally started getting along great once I realized that they didn't want to hurt me. I understand my foster parents quite well when they tell me to do something and I wish they were as smart as me so I could tell them and ... (Read More)others about my past life but humans are not very good at dog language. In light of the fact that they never met me before Legacy picked me up from the shelter it is surprising how much they know about me. It only took me a couple of weeks for me to figure out that it made my foster family much happier if I used the potty outside rather than in the house. For that reason and the fact that the only furniture I get on is the sofa my fur brothers are allowed on in their den, they are sure that at some point in my life I was some family's favorite pet. I am really good about going to the door but I must have a weak bladder because if you don't watch and let me out right away I will sometimes still pee by the door. No one knows for sure but they think I might have been used as a bait dog to help some jerk train their pit bulls how to fight, and once they felt I was washed up I was eventually dumped on the streets to die. All four of my canines were either broken or filed off at the gum line and since coming to live with my foster family I have had to have 3 of them removed. I also had numerous wounds on my body when I was rescued, most of which were too old to suture so they had to let them heal naturally which unfortunately left some nice scars. I wear my scars proudly because they add character and show that I am a survivor. I have arthritis in my left front elbow which makes me limp after waking up from a nap. Unfortunately the veterinarian says that might be more of an issue for me as I get older so I take medicine to make it feel better. I also have idiopathic head tremors two or three times a week. The Doctor says they are neurological and there is no way to know exactly what causes them. There could be lots of reasons but they say the tremors are harmless and my foster parents have learned that if you hold me and love on me they will usually pass pretty quickly. I apparently didn't get preventative medications during my nightmare life because I also had heartworms when I was rescued. I have now been treated and the doc says it should not be an issue for me as long as I stay on heart worm preventative. As a result of the treatment I received before being rescued I am still afraid of new sounds (especially loud ones) and any sudden movements. I am also terrified of going through doors. I am better now but I still tremble anytime I meet new people or dogs and I am still easily startled by quick movements or new sounds. I am still a bit afraid of doors as well and often won't go through one unless my foster's go through it before me and let me follow. I have a hard time understanding why anyone would treat me the way they did but I know I am safe now and I absolutely love living in a warm loving home and having my food on a regular basis. Although I have gone through a lot once I feel safe with my surroundings I am one of cutest and most loving little girls you will ever meet. A lot of boxers think they are lap dogs and love to crawl up and sit in your lap. I'm not much on getting in your lap because it is too confining for me but if you give me the love, affection and attention I deserve I might just crawl into your heart. Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Regan has adjusted VERY well since being here. He just wants to be loved. After spending many weeks in a kennel, I took the chance that Regan just needed to burn off a LOT of pent up energy. Many people judged him as being aggressive, but I felt the only thing wrong with Regan was he needed to be active. Sure enough, I introduced him to our small pack, and he became a completely different dog. Regan's age and breed cries out for activity. It didn't take long at all for him to warm up to our dogs, and began playing with them. He will chase a ball for as long as you will throw it. His perfect home would have another medium to large dog that ... (Read More)will play with him, and a doggie door. He does not like cats. I sincerely believe with the right trainer/training, this sweet boy can learn ANYTHING. I am very impressed with him. Someone is going to end up with a GREAT dog. Needs a home with another dog as he is very playful and loves canine companionship!! He is not kennel/crate trained, but IS doggie door trained. (Regan is not good with cats so should be in a No Cat Home!! Also no birds!! Brings out the Pointer instincts in him!!) I am available to any and all questions!!     Hello there! My name is Cleverley! I am the happiest, wiggliest cuddle bug you will ever meet! I am an older lady that is looking for a laid back furever home. My favorite thing to do is hang out next to my person on the couch and get love and attention. My foster mom says I am one of the most well behaved dogs she has ever met. I am great in my crate, I never have accidents in the house, I ride very well in the car, I have never chewed anything I am not supposed to, I am just a good girl! I live with other dogs in my foster home, but I need very slow introductions to new fur friends, and it would be best if I could be the only fur ... (Read More)resident in my new home. If I sound like your kind of girl, let my foster mom know, I would love to meet you! See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2393 (Less)
