Hi my name is Lucy! I'm being fostered through San Antonio Pets Alive! I was on the euthanasia list due to overpopulation but I'm glad to be one of the lucky ones who was rescued. My foster mommy says I've been appropriately named as my name means 'light' and that's what I spread everywhere I go! I'm a very cheerful, fun-loving, healthy one year old who loves to go for walks/jogs. I love playing with other dogs and love meeting people. When I'm at home, I love to play with my plush pig Petunia, tossing her about. I also love my rawhides and Nyla bones and will sit for them. I'm housetrained and adjusting well to home life, but what I'd ... (Read More)really love is a yard to romp around in! I'm quite the snuggler and will curl up with you at night and be your personal woobie while you watch your favorite show. I'm up to date on all my vaccinations and spayed! I have a lot of love to give and can't wait to find my fur-ever home. (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Coor is a 4yr old fawn Boxer. He has his papers. He listens very well. Hes potty trained, kennel trained and LOVES to play fetch and be outdoors. Sadly, we've recently discovered he doesn't get along with other male dogs. He is also inpatient towards our small children which is the reason we can no longer have him. He would be great with children that are old enough to know not to climb and jump on him. We've had him since he was 9wks old. He is an amazing dog and truly part of our family. Please only contact us if you are very serious about making him an addition to your family. Texting me or emailing me is the best way to get a hold of me ... (Read More)due to my occupation. (Less)

Hi! My name is Novella, and I am equal parts Sweet and Spunky. So if you like a playful gal who is also a great snuggler, then I am your girl! You might not be able to tell by my picture, but my coat is really soft - just like velvet! I will curl up right next to you, and you will love to pet me! I look like a puppy, but we think I am around 2 years old, and all grown. I really do need to have an outside space to play and run around in, because I have tons of energy that I like to burn off. I can play by myself, but I love to play with other dogs, too. I would probably make a great running partner. (My foster mom does not want to confuse ... When I look up at you with my soulful eyes, softly furrowed brow, and ears cocked just so, your enchantment will be complete. You will be mine and I will be yours! I am ready to meet you! Animal ID: 14418Pratt (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hey Guys! My name's Pratt. I'm a beautiful, sweet, sensitive fawn boy (just ask my Foster Mom :-)). I'm somewhere between 1-2 years old and am a very gentle, curious little man. I've recently discovered what a couch, bed, and a house (or, crate) is. Obviously, I LOVE the couch/bed situation(s) and am starting to get used to what my Foster Mom calls my 'house.' I just need a little bit of positive reinforcement/treats (hint: I LOVE cheese), and I'll go in there with some gentle coaxing. Since my Foster Sister (Olive) is in her house right next to me'|it helps me feel calm while my Foster Mom's at work till lunch time. She tells me ... (Read More)how proud she is that I can stay safely in my crate without accidents while she's at work. But, I do see her at lunch so I can go check out the scenery in my back yard and potty. I'm doing great in my house during the work day, but I do need to feel secure while my Foster Mom is away. Otherwise, I can be vocal when I get nervous/anxious. That's why it'd be best if I had a fur brother/sis to hang with crate-by-crate during the work day. Hey now'|it gives a sensitive guy like me some courage/spunk! Now, let me talk about my Foster Sister: Olive, the Boston Terrier. She's the BEST and I treat her like she's my baby. My Foster Mom says she's no 'stranger' to Boxer Boys like me'|she's a vet at being a Fur Sister to LBR pups. But, my Foster Mom thinks that I have a bit of a crush on her. Every time I see her I (literally) give her entire face a bath with kisses. I'm very gentle with her even though she's so much smaller than me. Also, I'm doing so great that my Foster Mom is even letting me sleep in a huge dog bed at night right next to Olive. We cuddle all night and it's awesome! My Foster Mom says how proud of me she is that I can sleep all night with Olive and not get into any shenanigans! Plus, I just really like the cuddle time with my girlfriend (;)). I'm eating like a piggy pie and have just a few lbs to gain. Then, I'll be at my fighting weight! Also, I've been a complete gentleman with my Foster Mom's house thus far. I haven't had any accidents and am doing my 'business' where I should: outside the house in my very own backyard. YAAAAAAYY for me, right?! I love my backyard'|I zoomy regularly and patrol for squirrels, neighborhood pups, and get into general all-around puppy awesomeness with Olive. Also, my Foster Mom says how curious/intelligent I am. I can sit and sit up for treats (PLEASE REMEMBER THE CHEESE PEOPLE :)). We're working on something called 'down' and 'shake' right now. Well, I think that's enough talking about me for the moment! I hope to meet my forever family very soon! Will it be you?! Pratt See my complete bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2726 (Less)

Checkers 15367 - is a super cute male puppy around 5 months old and is a very social boy!!!     We found this stray about 6 weeks ago. Pit/Boxer/Boston mix, 2-3 yo, HW negative, 50 lbs. He has been great w/ me & my husband, but is dog & cat aggressive. He attacked a friend's dog Sunday & a neighbor's dog last night, sending her dog to the hospital for surgery. It's been a really tough week for us. My husband and I are at our breaking point and he is becoming a big liability for us. My husband does not like the dog & wants to euthanize him tomorrow. Buddy attacked my neighbor's dog in another's neighbors yard, and that neighbor has 2 toddlers who are usually in the driveway riding their tricycles. This is what scared us the most! ... (Read More)Also, during the last 2 dog fights, the other owners have stuck their hands in the fight. Thank goodness neither of them were injured, but we are very concerned that this may not always be the case. We are searching for any folks who could take this dog today or tomorrow. We must get him out of our possession as he is a high risk for us. We have 2 cats, and since he is cat aggressive, we cannot let him inside. Our neighbors have asked that we turn him into the city as we live super close to our neighbors who all either have dogs or small children. We absolutely hate to do this, but we feel like we have exhausted all options - between rescue groups, facebook, and other social media. We are just hoping that folks will not judge and just offer advice for immediate solutions. It's a sad situation as we have tried so hard to help give this boy a chance at a happy life. Thanks so much for any help you can offer. (Less)

In case you missed my posting on Saturday, I just wanted to remind everyone that there is an album on this page with me, Harold and Jonah! We are still at the shelter and need families or rescues to get us out of here. Know anyone looking for an Almost Boxer? I look very close to a Boxer, except no one chopped my tail off and my face is not quite as smooshy, but overall very Boxery. And I can save you money'|'| my guys, uh you know, my private area guys are already missing, so I am neutered and you won't... have to pay for ... (Read More)that! I was picked up at a construction site after getting stuck in an elevator shaft. I am a large male dog and very friendly, I mind well! Mister Matthew the new Animal Control Officer says I will make a great pet for some lucky family! Kenedy is a small town just 60 miles SE of San Antonio, Texas, the pets there get NO exposure for rescue or adoption other than this facebook page. The live release rate is typically 5% out of 275 dogs per year, standard hold time is 72 hours. Rocky also has 3 kids (2 yrs, 4 yrs, and 7yrs) who he is great with. Rocky does not enjoy going in a crate, but does so without a hassle. He quickly learned how to use the doggy door and has not had any accidents in the house!! Rocky LOVES going on walks...the minute he hears the leash he is sitting by your feet.     Jack is a 2.5 year old boxer/pit bull mix. He found my dogs in the yard when he was 3 months old and he has been a part of our family ever since. I have a 19 month old granddaughter whom he has been around from birth and he is nothing but sweet to her. He adores people but seems to especially love men. He is good with my female weimaraner mix. He does chase my cats but has never harmed them. He has killed a rabbit that found it's way into my yard. I wouldn't put him in a home with another male dog. I live a sedentary lifestyle and I think he would be happier in a home with a little more activity. Someone looking for a companion who ... (Read More)will love him as I do is what I'm looking for.     Hi my name is Gavin. I'm a white male boxer with natural ears, neutered and a docked tail with a wiggly butt. I'm not deaf, I hear you loud and clear. I love to play rough house with my foster parents two other boxers. I especially love playing with my LBR brother. I'm currently healing from surgery for getting fixed and had a tumor removed from one of my paws. Things are going well and I'm recovering great. I'm crate trained and don't mind my crate (especially when you give me treats). I know how to sit and I'm working on other commands. I know how to walk on the leash and like going outside. I am grateful to the my foster family who help ... (Read More)rescue me and know I will be the boxer you are looking for. From the foster parents: Gavin is a really sweet boxer.     River was found as a stray in Fort Worth Texas. She appears to be a small Mastiff or Boxer mix? Definately a gorgeous mastiff/boxer face/mask, but she has a smaller build, only 40 lbs. She was completely covered in ticks but was taken to a local vet and the ticks were killed and removed. She was cleaned up, given some love, food, water, vaccinations to keep her healthy, and tested HW negative! She still needs to be spayed.     Hi, I'm Tarawa, but mom calls me Tara for short. I'm just a baby, so there isn't much to tell about me yet, but here goes I have beautiful blue eyes and the most amazing thing called a tail!! Momma said it really is pretty, and just fits my personality. Whatever that is. I have a pure white coat and love to play with my bigger fur siblings. I try not to scare them with my jumps and growls, but sometimes momma has to remind me that I have to be gentle with them. They are old after all. Momma said there is a creature out there called a cat, but I don't know what they are. Momma said I should be fine with one, since I am still a baby ... (Read More)and can learn they are not toys.     Hi I'm such a sweet sugar-face they named me Candy. I was brought to a shelter after living in the back yard all my life ( 8 yrs). My 'family' was going to have me put down. I was so covered in ticks they couldn't tell if I had any other lumps/bumps or not. Well I am clean and tick-free now. There were so many blood-sucking ticks, it left me anemic, so I have to get my health back and undergo Heartworm treatment before I can go home with you. When you talk to me and love on me, my little nubbin moves the fastest you've ever seen. I like to rest on the couch with you and snuggle. If you help me up, I'll sleep in the bed with you. Sometimes ... (Read More)I'll manage to get up there on my own and sleep with you, until some other dog comes along. I'm not food- or toy-aggressive and I like everybody. Plus, I'm not jumpy, it's too hard for us older girls. Once I am healthier, my Fom (Foster Mom) will help me lose a few pounds. I have a Fob ( Foster Brother) and we get along very well. I am very good about getting in my crate. Sometimes, when I see Fom putting on her work uniform, I just go ahead and put myself in the crate. I don't make much noise, so you have to ask me if I want out. Otherwise, I might just find a nice spot indoors to go, but I am learning that is not really peoples favorite. For a sweet ol' gal that never lived indoors till now, I've done great. If you feel you would be a perfect match for me, please contact your Adoption Counselor.      Big Mack was a hoot at our adoption event---just wanted to lay on the cool floor and chew on some treats!! He is such a handsome dog--and very personable. He's gone into a very temporary home for a week so contact trinitygapclub@gmail.com if interested in meeting him. He'll be back in the shelter if not adopted soon! Update! Mack is still in need of a foster or forever home. He probably would do best as an only dog unless he is with a submissive dog. He is extremely sweet and friendly to all people!!!! The guys said he is spoiled and prefers the air-conditioning to the heat outside, so he needs an inside home! He is such a handsome ... (Read More)dog, and hope we can get him out of the shelter soon. He has been there longer than any dog now! Great Dog!!! Mack is awesome with people but He does not do well with male dogs; he needs to be with submissive females or only dog. He is a gorgeous boxer/staffy mix. Really handsome dog!!!! Lots of energy and lots of love too!! GAP's pet chauffeur Gloria texted that Liberty rode like a celebrity in the back seat of the car---just chewing on a rawhide and looking out the window--didn't try to get in the front seat or drive---was a perfect passenger and a big tipper--okay just kidding about the tip. He is neutered and vaccinated!! Weighs 60 lbs! Mack formerly Liberty - 15331 - What a handsome boy! This sweet boxer/terrier mix appears to be around a year old, and loves to be the center of attention. He is very energetic, and will need someone who can exercise him daily. He loves people, and is super smart, so should respond quickly to training. How can anyone resist this cute face??? (Less)

Hi, my name is Adnan! I just met my foster family. They say I am the sweetest dog they have ever met. I am very submissive and get along with the other dogs in the house. I had a very bad broken leg when I was save by Legacy Boxer Rescue and it was unfortunately unable to be saved. I had it amputated on 6/26/2014, so I am what my foster mom calls a tripod. I need to heal from this surgery and get neutered, so I will be ready to start meeting families sometime in August. Please check back and my foster mom will update my information as I get healthy.     'My name is Norman, but sometimes my foster parents call me ''Norm!'' The first few days they called me ''Norman No'', but now that I am settled in and I understand things better, I don't hear that name so much. They tell me they LOVE my one blue eye! I am house trained now too. It only took me a few tries to learn the doggy door. My foster mama thinks I might have been an outside dog 100% of the time. I still like to lay in the sun for a few minutes at a time, but I REALLY like being inside and around people! People are awesome and they love on me and I like that a lot! I will snuggle and lean into my foster people for more attention. ... (Read More)I'm not fond of a crate, but I will follow a 'treat' inside and then settle down in one after just a few minutes. My foster mama thinks I can be trusted in the house even when she is not there, as long as she doesn't leave any food on the counters. I am a counter surfer! There's a furry thing here called a cat and sometimes she leans into me and purrs. I'm really curious about her and I will follow her but I don't chase her. Sometimes she hisses at me because I'm too curious, but I don't think she is something I can eat. I just like to stand over her and stare. When I'm feeling better after my neuter, I like to play with with my fur foster brother, Grover. He wants to play a lot more than I do, but when I don't want to play, I just walk away from him. I know I will want to play more when I'm feeling better. I like him and I look to him for some guidance sometimes. Grover plays with something called ''toys'' and tries to get me to play, but I'm not really sure what they are. I also like skin kids and I am not jumpy with them. I just want them to love on me too. I'm actually an all around very easy going guy! I love to go for walks and get very happy when I see the leash! I am told I am a good walker and only pull a tiny bit. Maybe a little more when I see a rabbit! I would love to meet you now and give you some kisses. Then on July 15th I have to go in and have my icky Heartworm treatment and I will have to be calm and can't play for a few weeks. I want to be healthy for my new furever home. My foster mama will keep you updated. Please ask for a meet and greet soon because I can't wait to meet you!!!' See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2705 (Less)

Hello, Rescue Me. My name is Oliver. I am a 2.5-year old white boxer. I am house trained, crate trained, know all the basic commands, love my 5-year old boy, and love all women who come to see me. I live with my mommy and my grandma and have all my life, so I'm not too used to men yet, but with time, I will be. I have a lot of energy but with one long walk everyday, I manage to stay out of trouble. I am very lovable and even at 60 pounds, I like to be a cuddly lapdog. My mommy loves me so much but my boy has started getting really sneezy and sometimes has a hard time breathing when I'm around so mommy says I should go to a home where my ...     Tucker is an energetic 4 year old boy that is full of kidney bean dances and wiggles! He currently lives with 2 skin sisters (7 years old and 2 years old) and he just loves them to pieces. Tucker can be a little jumpy during introductions, but he calms down pretty quickly with some correction. He is currently the only dog in the foster home, but so far he has gotten along great with other dogs. His fur cousin is a Great Dane and he just loves to play and bounce around with him. Tucker has not had any accidents in the house or crate. He gets in his crate fairly well (with some treat bribes), and once he is in there he does not whine. ... (Read More)Tucker does need some basic leash training because right now he likes to pull and lead, but he is easily corrected when reminded that he needs to mind his manners. He is easily excited and doesn't act like a 4 year old at all%BD'%BD|he has the spirit of a 2 year old. He loves to be around his people! He loves cuddles and snuggles, and he likes to give gentle (not slobbery!) kisses when asked. He has shown no aggression with food or toys, and no aggression towards other animals (although he likes to chase squirrels in the backyard%BD'%BD|but who doesn't?). He also knows some basic commands like sit, lay down, and shake. We think that Tucker would do great as an only dog, or with other dogs.     T-bone was left at a local groomers as unwanted. I suspect because he looks to have a little boxer or pit bull blood. We took him and have taught him to sit, fetch, and speak. He also sleeps in a create at night or outside when its nice. There is nothing wrong with T-bone. He is a sweet dog great with my kids and loves to give and get affection. We have a health problem in our house that is very time consuming and requires some travel so it breaks our heart that this sweet boy spends so much time alone. He needs a family that can take him for walks (we have taken him out on leash a few times but its hard for us to find the time)and spend ... (Read More)time with him everyday. He even gets along with the cat. We will miss him but cannot keep him. His create can go with him to his new home for a small fee. We paid $85 and we are just looking for half back. PLease contact us if you can give T-bone a loving forever home. (Less)

I have been with my family a couple of months now teaching them more and more about me. I am a small to medium size boxer. I weigh almost 50 lbs. My mom and the other volunteers think I am about 1.5-2.5 years old. I was originally thought to be older by the shelter but I was in rough shape before LBR helped me out. I am very sweet and gentle and am happy to give a kiss or two. I am a love bug that wiggles for everyone. I love my skin siblings and wiggle when I see them. I have been very gentle with them. I love to lean into people for a good scratch. I have pretty cool eyes. One blue and one brown. I am also deaf so I am ... (Read More)beginning to learn some signs. I have learned good girl, sit and lay and am working on stay. I also know come. I also will go into my crate when you point. Because of this, my mom thinks I will do best in a home with kids over 7 or dog savvy kids. I am with kids ages 8, 5, and 20 months and am doing great. I have a older Jack Russell brother who I love. I try and get him to play with me but he usually just chills. My mom has had me play with a boxer friend and I loved it. I am great on my walks and don't pull... when I see a bunny I usually stop and stare. In the backyard I love to chase them though. I am good with dogs on walks and haven't barked at them ever. My mom took me to the pet fair and I was great around other dogs and didn't get too excited. I just stayed by her and let everyone love me. I have had a few leash intros with other dogs and have been fine. I am house trained and crate trained. I love going in my crate to sleep at night. I am pretty low key during the day and just hang out. When I go outside I am usually calm too but every once in a while I will race around and do boxer burns. I like to sun bathe but given my fair complexion I can't stay outside very long. I like playing fetch but I don't always give the ball back. I love my toys too and my mom isn't sure how well I would share so she just keeps them up in the house and I get to play with them while outside. I am in the process of getting rid of some nasty heartworms. I will be ready to meet people at the beginning of August and ready for adoption towards the middle. I love people and look forward to meeting you! See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2694 (Less)

Hi! My name is Dayzie. I am a 4 year old flashy fawn female/spayed. I am excellent with friends and family and love my 10 year old skin brother. My foster mom heard I do way better with male dogs than female dogs. Also, I HATE cats. Right now I am an 'only child' and that works just fine with me! I will cower down with strangers and 'submissive pee' but that's just because I'm scared. Once we have been introduced, I do just fine! I am house trained, crate trained and I LOVE baths. My previous owner used to have a walk in shower and I would go in and just wait for her. I have excellent grooming habits! I love to be clean. I am also good about ... (Read More)having my nails clipped and ears cleaned - a girl has got to do what a girl has to do to stay fabulous! I love having my belly rubbed too! Mmmmm'| that feels so good! I really enjoy walking and even running on the leash. I can pull, but it's nothing too overwhelming that an adult human couldn't handle. I am not possessive with toys. I have high energy and I am super playful. I love to go outside and I prefer my foster mom and skin brother go with me. My foster brother says I look like I am running the Kentucky Derby when I let loose. I am really awesome with locating birds and squirrels. I have a toy that I really like. It's a figure 8 rope. I will growl when we are playing tug of war, but it's just for fun. I love, love, love to give hugs and lick the humans! I went to class at PetsMart and I know some really awesome tricks! I know sit, down (lie down), shake and the best one ~ a high five. We are working on speaking and 'bed' (going to my very own bed). I am disciplined with verbal correction. If I start exploring the toilet or the trash can, my foster mom tells me no and I instantly move on. I am certainly not possessive over food or treats with humans. I cannot tell you how I would act if another dog took my food or treats from me because as I stated earlier, I am an 'only child'. I love going to the vet and car rides. Thankfully, I have never had any illnesses or injuries, but I do suffer from seasonal alopecia. My current routine is while my foster mom goes to work and the 10 year old attends summer camp, I hang out in my crate. I am allowed to roam the house at night. I have never had any accidents. I am usually found in the morning with my skin brother in his bed. I am such a fabulous, happy, well behaved and joyful girl! Any family would be blessed to have me as a forever addition.     Hello, my name is Zoro, I am a 2-3 male boxer that loves to be on your lap and give boxer kisses. I am getting along well with my little boxer sister. She wants to play all the time and I do too. Running and chasing her is my favorite. I also like the Kong and rope toys that my fur sister and I play tug-o-war with. I go in the crate when asked and rest nicely. Mommy said that I am the BEST dog on a leash. I walk right by her side without pulling. I go to the potty outside and have only had a couple of 'oops' in the house. I let my Mommy know when there are noises that she should be alarmed about. My mommy does not have any skin kids that ... (Read More)live here so she does not know how I would be with little kids. Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Holly, a loveable 4-year old Italian Greyhound / Pitbull mix. It is with a very heavy heart, but we need to find our Holly a new home. We recently had a baby, and it seems she has become a little jealous. Even though we don't think she would ever harm the baby, we don't want to take the chance. Holly has been a wonderful dog. We adopted her 4 years ago after she was found behind a garbage dumpster the night before Christmas. She was named Holly because of this . She absolutely loves belly rubs, daily walks, and meeting new people. The most exciting part of her day is when you walk in the door! She is fully housetrained, doesn't ... (Read More)chew on anything, and has all her shots. A house with a yard would be best. Holly loves to run (It must be the Italian Greyhound in her), and she does the 'butt-tuck' as she runs in circles around the yard. She loves to fetch, but likes to play tug of war instead of giving the ball back. She wants nothing more than taking in the smells, sunning in the grass, and running around. While she is scared of thunder, she's a great protector and would be a great guard dog for a single woman. Ideally, we want to make sure she finds a home where she is loved and well taken care for. She's a big baby and craves attention. Holly would be a great dog for a single female or married couple without children or with older children. She is a great companion, and will be truly missed.     Meet Cheyenne! Cheyenne is what I call a 'San Antonio Special'. A good old street dog who has a little bit of every breed in her and she comes out looking super cute! Cheyenne is a VERY beautiful dog! She is this lovely tan and white, after some googling I think that she has the look of a Red Lacy. She is the perfect medium sized dog weighing in at around 50 lbs. The vet estimates she is around a year and a half old so she is past that puppy stage but still has the energy to keep you active! Cheyenne was hanging out in the middle of the road on the Southside of San Antonio when I spotted her! She was in pretty rough shape and was pretty ... (Read More)thin too. Cheyenne just looked like she had had a rough life on the streets and was ready for a break! She was pretty leery of me but it was nothing a few chicken nuggets couldn't fix! After tossing her nuggets I was able to slip a leash on her and get her loaded in my car where she road back to Austin like the good girl that she has shown me to be! Cheyenne had no microchip, collar or tags and no one ever responded to her many ad's on-line so I can only assume based on those things and her body condition that Miss Cheyenne isn't missed by anyone and as sad as that is, it makes for a great opportunity for you because Cheyenne is a GREAT dog! Cheyenne is very loving and would happily be in your lap all day everyday if you let her! Most days you will find her laying behind me on my office chair! Believe it or not that is her favorite place to be! We are still working on the no jumping thing because Cheyenne does get excited to see people and wants to jump up to give you kisses which can be a bit startling to some! So at this time I am recommending that she go to a home with older children just because she can be a bit boisterous! Cheyenne currently lives with 20 other dogs and gets along with everyone big and small! So if you have other dogs no problems there! Cheyenne hasn't been around cats and I would recommend a cat test prior to completing the adoption but Cheyenne is so sweet and eager to please that I don't imagine she will have a problem with cats at all! Cheyenne is spayed, current on her vaccines and microchipped so she will never again be lost on the streets! Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce you to Kenzy. Kenzy is a sweet, young boxer that is getting used to the good life! When Kenzy came into LBR's care, she was in pretty bad shape. She had had complications after giving birth to a litter of puppies and needed immediate surgery to fix the problem and prevent her from having further litters. Kenzy had never been inside a house before coming to us. She had lived outside all her life. Watching her adjust to being inside has been such a joy. She is so curious about every little thing, because it is all so new to her. Because she had never been inside, she had no idea of what it meant to be ... (Read More)housebroken. We're working on this and Kenzy is doing better all the time. She does still have the occasional accident but she's learning. Kenzy does pretty well in her crate, although it is far from her most favorite place to be! She does tend to bark for a bit when first put in and left alone, so an apartment would probably not be a good thing for her. Kenzy is young and just loves to play and run. She will run and fetch a ball and loves to romp and roll around in the kiddie pool. She also loves to play with her foster brother. Since all of this is new to her, she's still learning play manners and will need a playmate with patience and energy! Kenzy just loves people and is so happy to finally have their attention. She sometimes gets a little too excited and will paw at you for rubs and attention, but we're working on teaching her to only give her paw when it is asked for. She is also learning other commands, such as off, leave it, and how to lay down. Kenzy is very smart and a very quick learner. I think Kenzy would do well in a home with another young dog to play with, since she has so much energy to burn. I also think she would do well with children. Since she is still learning appropriate behavior, it might be best if the children were over 10, so she couldn't knock them over. Kenzy does have heartworms and will need to have treatment to get rid of them before being adopted. If all goes according to plans she should be ready around the beginning of September. (Read More)receive the care and treatment I needed, so I have to go through heartworm treatment. Since I arrived into Legacy's care, I have also had a number of bumps removed, and that's not uncommon for many boxers. However, I do understand that there is always a risk they will return. Legacy will provide all the information that they have on my medical care, history and treatment. I understand that Legacy has given me the very special title of 'Silver Boxer' which I display proudly on my bio page. Here is the link for the benefits that come with that designation. http://www.savetheboxers.com/silver.phpI should be ready to meet potential families sometime in late July. Please let my mom know if you would like to meet me. I would love to be picked by a family, especially if you have kids.     Hey there, how's it going? It's good to meet you, I'm Monroe and I'd like to just get the obvious out of the way'| Seven schmeven-that's right I'm not a puppy. That really just means I won't chew your stuff to shreds, I won't tear through your house like a wild man, I won't test your ESP trying to guess what I'll do next and I won't drag you down the sidewalk when we go for walks. I am a quiet, settled guy. I do very well in my foster mom's apartment; I only bark when someone knocks on the door. I sound really mean when that happens but as soon as our guest comes inside, I'm automatically Mr. Congeniality. I love my people and I love ... (Read More)getting attention but I am not needy. I know how to sit and will lay down for a treat. Thrown one into my crate and I'll go right in and I won't complain about it. By the way, I love treats and can catch them when you pitch them up in the air, that's fun! And I do like to play, especially when I come in from walking the block'|I get down into a play bow and let my foster mom know I'm ready for a little wrestling. But then I'm ready to relax, snuggle or just take a nap. I'm also used to staying off my foster mom's furniture but if you want me to climb up & snuggle, I would love that. When I'm out on my leash, I am very well behaved; no pulling, no lunging at squirrels (even though I'd love to give them a chase) or unnecessary barking. My foster mom even jogged a little with me and I stayed right by her, not trying to race or stay behind. If you need a jogging partner, we could be running buddies! If you're interested in finding out more or setting up a meeting, please don't hesitate to contact Legacy today! I will be ready to win you over with my pretty eyes, my calm demeanor and my handsome face. We will become fast friends, I promise.     I have been to the Vet and started my Heartworm Treatment.I am not ready for adoption, but I will be about mid-August if all goes well and I won't be available long. I am house-, crate- trained, not jumpy, not food aggressive, have manners, leash easy, loving, not to mention HANDSOME. When my other FOS (Foster Sister) was here, she was the Queen/Alpha Dog,and I was happy to let her. Now she's gone and I''m in charge. I have a been a welcoming, hospitable and sharing FOB (Foster Brother) to sweet Candy, showing her the ropes, trying to teach her house manners and how we potty OUTSIDE. I do have some faults.... I can be a bed hog, but once ... (Read More)you're asleep, I leave the bed and go stay in the living room/main room, where I can survey my kingdom and watch over my Family. But come breakfast time.... I'll be back !! I am not very vocal, so please be aware of my subtle communications( little whimpers). Also, I like to go outside A LOT, every 2-3 hours if you'll let me. Otherwise, you better crate me or........... That's all my bad habits, and my love and good habits CLEARLY outweigh the negative. My FOM ( Foster Mom) is going to be very selective because, well....... I'm AWESOME. If you feel like your family/home is a good match, please contact your Adoption Counselor or LBR.     Hi I'm Colt. I'm a 3 year old flashy dark brindle boxer boy and weigh about 86 lbs. but I'm dieting a little in order to drop a few pounds. I know my sit and down commands but need work on stay and how not to pull during my walks. I am fully house and crate trained and do like meeting new people. I am very loving and like to cuddle on the couch or floor with my foster family. I get to stay in my crate during the day while the family is out at work but I get to roam my part of the house during the evening.I am gradually meeting my foster fur siblings. I get very excited and exuberant when meeting new dogs and I can initially irritate them ... (Read More)with my energetic antics. I really just want to play but due to my size and maybe the fact that I get so excited some of them get agitated. My foster family is helping me remain calm with sitting techniques. I am allowed to mingle with an 11 year old female boxer and we get along fine. I also have spent some time with a couple of cute Pomeranians with no problems. My foster family says I need to be introduced to other dogs slowly. I've had a very good stay with my foster families but now I'm ready to find my forever family. I'm a healthy, heartworm negative, energetic fellow that is looking for someone to love and further train me. If you're that special family give me a call and I'll come for a visit.     ' I am just settling in to my foster home but like the lady I am I just had to say hello to you. I am a nine year old girl who is just looking for a place to call home, and a family who will love me. I had one family and a fur brother until just recently. My fur brother passed away and my family felt I was too lonely, so they dropped me off at the shelter and these nice LBR people came and picked me up. Now I am not lonely, because there are two other furkids here with me. Well, really one crazy young lady and a handsome gentleman. I am getting along with both of them, and was I happy to see them when I got here! My little nub was ... (Read More)moving a mile a minute. So, I am living a dog's life here. I get up in the morning and have a bite to eat with the family. I am on a bit of a diet, trying to get my girlish figure back. I am learning to use the dog door, but let mom know when I need to go out. I am great in my crate, and sometimes go in there for a quick nap. I don't bark much - what lady would? But I do let mom know when someone is at the door. I am a little hard of hearing, so sometimes I need to be woken up from a nap if there is something you want me to do. Everyone here is trying to teach me about these things they call toys - I never had them before. I am not sure what all the fuss is about but that crazy young lady seems to think they are the cat's meow. My mom will post some more information when I get to know her a little better, but if you would like to have a lady around the house let your AC know. I would love to meet you!     My name is Kai, it actually means Unbreakable in Burmese my momma says.. I wound up somehow in the Huntsville TX animal shelter when someone found me horribly burmed on the side of the road.. I had awful 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over my head, neck, back, and legs.. Something was poured on me, something very hot and painful.. I was falling apart almost too literally when my rescue momma got the call.. I had been in the shelter for days with no treatment and no offers to help me.. So my rescue momma got a call from the shelter and she said most definitely yes, that she would take me home with her.. Well while I was there waiting I met one ... (Read More)of the rescue mommas good friends and they offered to give me a ride too! We will always owe a special thank you to Reggie the Deaf Pitbull for helping me get to my rescue! We immediately began treatment to see what could be done.. We tried this stuff with lots of water everyday, I was not happy about the water, but it eventually made me stop itching and start healing! I now have the coolest white hair in my scars too ;) I have been here since July, 2012, and I will keep waiting until I find my perfect forever home! I love to be around the rescue mommas 5 year old little girl, I love other dogs and playing and running, and especially eating water!! We have a game we play, waterhose sprays me and i chase and catch it! Its my favorite game, so if you are my forever home, we will need to show you how to play this game ;) When I'm not playing though, I am the sweetest, calmest dog you will ever meet! Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Hi, my name is Effie! In my former life, I was known as 'Shaky' - probably because I am such a wiggly worm! A nice lady found me dodging traffic in the middle of a busy intersection. She was able to locate my owners about 2 weeks later, but they said they did not want me back. It made me kind of sad, but this lady was SO nice and she had two other doggies that I got to play with, so I figure it's better here than what might have happened to me if she hadn't stopped to pick me up. I love to play ball, and tuggies, and chew on bones. I am pretty easy to please! I like running around in the big backyard here, but it's super fun when I get to ... (Read More)put on the leash and go for a long walk/jog. The naps after those are the best you can get! Anyway, that's just a little bit about me. I would love to meet you and see if we can be best friends! Effie is a boxer mix, around 2 years old (est DOB June 2012) and 60 lbs. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Effie is heartworm positive, but is undergoing slow-kill treatment and is does not seem to slow her down one bit. She is house-trained, and does fine in a crate, but is still learning to go into the crate on command. Effie is working on basic obedience training: has almost mastered Sit, Down, Leave It, but is still practicing Stay and Go To Bed (kennel). She is about 50/50 on recall - seems to have selective hearing for that. :) She is very smart and really seems to enjoy the challenge of puzzle toys. Effie has done great with all of the new dogs she has met, and has been fine around the kids she's met at events, but would not be a good fit for a home with small children, as she is high-energy and does not necessarily understand her own size and power. Her cat-compatibility is sort of unknown; she has met a couple of cats and seems curious, wants to chase, but not sure what she would actually do if she caught up to one. Effie needs a home where she will get a lot of mental and physical exercise to keep her from acting out due to boredom. She would make a great running companion! If you would like more information on Effie, would like to meet or, or even adopt, please contact hollykelch@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on our website: www.forgottendogs.org/adoption_application - Thank you! Felix has grown to love toys and playing with humans and other dogs. Felix does not do well with cats so he is looking for a home that has no cats. We found Felix while on our feeding route. He was limping and being bullied by another dog. We took him in and found that he had an old injury that has already healed. There is nothing the vets can do for him surgically. He will sometimes limp if he overdoes it. If you are interested in adopting Felix please contact us on ... (Read More)our webpage www.corridorrescue.org. His adoption fee is $150.00. If you cannot adopt then consider fostering. Felix is staying in a kennel right now and needs a foster home. Corridor Rescue provides everything needed for fostering all you need to provide is a loving home. Rescue Me ID: 14-04-20-00433Betsy (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Betsy. She is a total sweetie pie! A happy and healthy doggie that has so much love, affection, and companionship to offer to her future family. And she's always good for some entertainment too! There is nothing Betsy loves more in life than being close to and loved on by people. If you need some lovin, Betsy is your girl! She might try to convince you that she is a lap dog, and she is pretty good at it too! She has this naturally happy, affectionate, and goofy personality that makes her so special and fun to be around. She's young and active and enjoys going for her daily walk and getting some good playtime in. In fact, she ... (Read More)has never met a tennis ball she doesn't like. She can entertain herself for a while with a good toy or bone and often likes to play on her back and drop her toy in and out of her mouth like a big goofball. Pretty cute stuff! She needs someone who has time to interact with her and really thrives when she's had some good exercise. There is definitely a lot of adorable playful puppy still in her! She is a hound/pitbull mix (possibly Boxer in there) with the most unique and beautiful brindled coat and big brown eyes that are very expressive- you can always tell what she's thinking. She's right around 50 lbs and won't get much bigger than that. In addition to being so sweet and loving, Betsy is very smart and has been quick to pickup training. She can do all the basics, but her absolute favorite is to shake. She is continuing to learn new commands and developing her skills in her foster home, but she will benefit from being with someone who will enforce rules and continue her training as she is eager to please and greatly benefits from this kind of interaction. She's a young and active pup who needs exercise and would make a great running buddy, though a daily walk is just fine. One of the great things about Betsy is that she DOES NOT POTTY IN THE HOUSE! At her foster home, there is a bell on the back door that she rings when she needs to go outside and do her business. (It's a standard small bell on a piece of ribbon that hangs from the knob. Unconventional maybe, but is an easy and effective way for her to let you know it's potty time. We will be happy to provide one to her new family if they would like to continue to use this method with her) She is crated when she is home alone and at night but she doesn't mind her crate and goes in willingly when you tell her to. Besides being potty trained, Betsy rides well in the car, walks well on a leash, unexpectedly enjoys a bath, and plays well at the dog park. She's such a good girl! We don't know much about Betsy's past before she was rescued by Corridor Rescue. She was found by a pair of our wonderful volunteers while wandering around the parking lot of a flea market, hungry and going up to every person there just begging for food and help. As soon as she approached the volunteers and realized she wasn't going to get shooed away as usual, the love fest began! She showered them with a ridiculous amount of love and puppy kisses and was SO excited to get some food and attention. Though we don't know her story, based on her behavior when she first came in, her foster mom thinks she had belonged to somebody at one point and had been kept outside with other dogs and fed regularly, but didn't receive much, if any, attention or care beyond that. It's likely that she was dumped or had run away based on the area of town she was in that is notoriously known for dumped and neglected animals. It's hard to imagine anybody neglecting Betsy as she is just so friendly and adorable, but it is their loss and Betsy's gain as she has a second chance to have the home and people she so deserves. Fortunately, her past didn't seem to affect her sweet disposition and fun personality too much. She was a bit territorial when she came into the program, which is a natural behavior of dogs left to fend for themselves and compete for resources, but has not had any issues with that lately and seems to be in a different mindset now that she's adapted to life as a well-loved inside dog. Betsy is spayed, microchipped, on flea and heartworm preventative, and up to date on all shots. She is a healthy and happy wiggle machine! Betsy is still a strong playful puppy and might do best in a home with older kids or adults, but only because her manners aren't completely refined yet, which will easily come with more time and training. She is not aggressive but may be too strong for younger kids who are easily knocked over or inexperienced with dogs. She really enjoys playing with other dogs around her size but does not play well with cats. No feline siblings for Betsy! She really is a special dog- so smart, affectionate, silly, and sweet. Here is a video of Betsy; she is brindle colored with a blue/green collar https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=587226031369132&set=vb.279611518797253&type=2&theater (Less)

Curious. Affectionate. Playful. Snuggly. Smart. Loyal. Yes, those words pretty much describe me in a nutshell! Hello, everyone. My name is Dottie, but you can call me Dot for short. I LOVE to play with toys and people. I have a huge heart and a lot to offer. I will show you how to be with your dog and enjoy every ounce of the time. For example, before I came along, my caretakers used to do the usual things with their dogs: take walks, go to dog parks, and feed them out of bowls. Now that I came along, I have opened up their eyes to a new way of living. I have shown them how much fun it is to run in open fields and play in puddles, or take ... (Read More)wonderful walks in the woods. I play and train with toys that dispense food. I will make you laugh with my goofy shenanigans. I am a perfect balance of playfulness and laziness. I am ready for a game of tug-of-war at a minute's notice, but will also lay back and relax when it is time to work. I am very good at playing with my toys by myself. I really do not require another dog to be happy, as I am perfectly happy with having one on one time with my family. You say you want a unique dog with lots of character unseen in any other dog? Well, look no further. You are looking at a picture of that dog right now! I am 4 yrs. old, weigh 60lb, and am fully vetted.     Hi, my name is JD! I am a sweet, affectionate boy with quite a story to tell! You see, I was found on the side of the road in Houston. Emaciated, dehydrated, injured and defeated. I was picked up by a good samaritan and taken to the city pound to be euthanized. The workers there did not even bother to take me into intake b/c they knew I would not make it much longer. But they gave me one last shot. They sent out a plea to area rescues asking for help. And that's where my life changed. Red Collar Rescue got the email and were at the pound within the hour. They took me straight to the emergency room. They gave me pain medicine and tried to ... (Read More)assess my injuries. I was just skin and bones, covered in fleas and mange. My eyes were sunken in and I had a gaping open wound on my leg. I also had two dislocated hips and fractured spine and pelvis. My temperature was low, I was in shock and my body was shutting down. The doctors did not give me much hope. The RCR volunteers sat w/ me for a while and then tucked me in for the night - not sure if I would make it through the night. But what they and the doctors didn't know is that I was no ordinary dog. My body was weak but I have the heart of a lion. And every day I surprised every one - getting stronger and working so hard to get well. After two weeks in the hospital, I was taken to my medical foster home. My guardian angels there took care of me day and night, cleaning my wounds, giving me lots of good food and love. I soaked up the attention, I wasn't giving up and neither were they! When I was healthy enough, I had two hip surgeries to repair my injured joints. And look at me now!!! I am a healthy 60 lbs now, about 2 years old and absolutely stunning. I have a great sense of humor, am very affectionate and when I'm happy, my whole body wags! I love to lay in the grass, take walks and be the center of attention. My journey has brought me so far and now I am ready to find a forever home! If you would like to adopt me, please visit www.redcollar.org to learn how. She's not really sure how I'd do in an apartment. She says it's called ''crate anxiety''. She tried leaving me in a bedroom with the closed, but I didn't like it.     My name is Tonto. I am a reserved guy, much like the Lone Ranger's sidekick. I am really quiet and easy-going. I found myself in the shelter, although I have no idea why. I think my family could not afford the medical care I needed. When Legacy Boxer Rescue found me, they found me a place to live. I am enjoying the orthopedic beds and the regular meals/snacks. My mom gave me medicine that she says if for hookworms, and they will be all gone soon. Then, I am told I will have my ''bum'' leg removed. It causes me great pain, as there is something unfixable about my hip. So, I think when it is gone, I will be much more mobile than I ... (Read More)am now. After that, it looks like I'll have treatment for heartworms. And then finally, I'll be ready to meet new families. My foster mom says that I am the easiest dog she has ever had stay at her house. I am a perfect gentleman. I know how to be crated, but do not have to be, as I don't get into anything I'm not supposed to. My foster brother is not that good. He counter surfs?! So, my foster mom makes sure to try an put things up. I told him he shouldn't do that, but he didn't listen. I know better. :) I'm not a barker. What's the point? You know if someone is at your front door. :) I LOVED my foster mom's grandchildren, and did great with them. What else is there to say? Do you need a charming, stately side kick? If so, I should be ready to meet folks around the end of June. See ya Kemosabee. ' See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2645 (Less)

'Hi everyone! My name is Cuddles and I'm about the sweetest little boxer girl you will ever meet. When I first came to LBR I had heart worms so I had to be treated to get rid of them. I just got home from seeing Dr. Fuller and guess what! The nasty heart worms are all gone and I'm ready to find my forever family. I am very happy, healthy and ready to share my boxer hugs and kisses with the right family. I'm a little boxer girl with beautiful eyes and a happy disposition. I get along fine with other dogs but Mom says I'm a little too curious with the cats for comfort. (I don't get it. When I chase them they run and hiss. That seems ... (Read More)a little rude to me.) I might be better in a home without cats. I am housebroken and Mom thinks I probably lived in an apartment before because when she asks if I need to go potty I always run to the front door by the leashes. I don't like crates though and you have to really work to get me in there, but I'm a good girl once I am. I love going for walks and playing in the back yard. I don't bark much (except when I really don't want to go into the crate) and Mom calls me 'Cuddle Bug' because I'm affectionate. I've heard other little girls sometimes are called 'My Princess.' I really want to be someone's princess so if you would like to meet me I'm ready to meet you and the world now!     Hello All, My name is Jennifer; my Foster Dad calls me Jenna Wenna or Jenny for short. My Foster Dad tells me that I am a gorgeous flashy fawn Boxer Lady with a beautiful brown coat and gorgeous brown eyes. He tells me I weigh approximately 53 lbs and that I will end up around 60 lbs when I put on some more muscle and some much needed weight. I am a very sweet Boxer lady, well that is what my Foster Daddy tells me. ;-) My Foster Dad tells me I am very loving and that I enjoy giving what he calls endless kisses. So I might go a little over board on the kissing, what do you want? I do stop when asked nicely or when he tells me no ... (Read More)ma'am. %81S Did he tell you that I love to kiss? He says I Kidney bean like crazy when I am excited and when you come home. I love, love, love to play with toys and I like to carry them all over the house. I play with one toy, then another, and another. He calls me a serial toy player. I have some physical challenges that were caused by what we suspect was a car accident. However, my foster Dad says there is no way to know that for sure since no one saw my accident happen. You see, I had x-rays, whatever those things are and they showed I had 3 breaks in my hip area. I have somewhat limited use of my back right leg. I am getting stronger every day and have regained about 60% of the muscle mass in my back right leg. I am pretty sure that is due to love, good food, rest, and a ton of play with The Boxer Gang. My Foster Brothers Sky and John love to play with me. Of course I don't let my hip challenge slow me down. I love to play with my foster brothers and sister and chase them all over the house and yard pretty much every chance I get. I love people and I love snuggling with my Boxer foster brothers and sister. I love to sleep next to my people in bed and I settle down quickly and don't move until my people get up in the morning. I may give a few kisses before I settle down to sleep, what, I like kisses. ;-) I have to go through heart worm treatment for worms, ick what are worms? I don't know what those are but they just don't sound good to me. I will be available for adoption around May 18th. My Foster Dad tells me I mind very well and listen very well if he asks me to stop doing something. I know sit and I am learning some other commands. I am house trained and I will let you know that I need to go out by ringing the poochie bells or hitting my paw against the back door. If that doesn't work, I will sometimes go look for you. Also, I am crate trained and I settle down very quickly after I go into the crate. I am usually sitting nicely when my foster Dad comes home to let me out. That is all for now, I hope to meet you soon. Love Jennifer and The Boxer Gang See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2629 (Less)

I am a sweet and gentle soul, but I still have a bit of spunk in me. I am house and crate trained and I know how to use a doggy door. I will let you know if I need to go outside by 'chuffing'. I am so well behaved that I am free to roam my foster home day and night. I know sit, lay down, come, outside and potty. I would be great with kids or grandkids since I don't jump up and I don't smother them with kisses. I love to be in whatever room my family is in. As an older woman, I have a couple of age related issues that we can discuss if you'd like to meet me. I ride well in a car and I love to take walks on a leash. My foster mom isn't sure ... (Read More)I knew how to play before, but I am learning now. I live with three other boxers and we all get along great. I am interested in those fast furry things called squirrels though, so small furry animals might no be a good idea for me.     Max was rescued from a Home Depot parking lot a little over a year ago. He is very energetic but also very loyal and affectionate. He loves to run and play but is a great snuggler and likes sleeping under the covers. I would love to keep Max but I will be moving in with my fiance soon and we already have five other dogs between us and all of them are either too small or too old to be a good playmate for Max.
