Rescue Me ID: 18-04-22-00086Mario (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This puppy is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $225 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Mario is one darling bambino! He's so entertaining and likes to be included in all your activities. For instance, he's great in the car - no need to crate him- he likes to ride shotgun! Baby Mario was found abandoned and as soon as he was given his own bed, he loved it. Even now, Mario will drag/pull his little bed around with him and even though he's outgrown it, he will crawl into it, hang over the sides and use it for a toy, too. A smart little guy, Mario is crate trained and his foster mom says he is almost house ... (Read More)trained as long as he gets to go out frequently. Squeaky toys bring lots of joy to our funny boy. Playful and affectionate, Mario is 10 weeks old and weighs 13 pounds. We think he is a Boxer/Beagle mix. He's good with everyone: other dogs, kids & cats! Mario should be an easy addition to an active home & he's sure to bring love and laughter. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-07-00241Jett (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Jett was found alone out in the country in rural NW TN on an unseasonably cold April day. The man who found him drove Jett into town to the local veterinarian. Jett has not yet been claimed by an owner so we need to find him a new place. He is currently in boarding but would much prefer a comfy home and the company of some loving humans. The staff at the vet's say Jett is 'super sweet' and well-behaved. Jett weighs 57 pounds. He is current on vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption. Jett tested heartworm positive and will need to undergo the treatment needed to rid him of heartworms. That treatment will take about a month ... (Read More)to complete so we expect Jett will be done with treatment and fully recovered by mid May. But you don't have to wait until then to meet this sweet guy to see if he is the right dog for you! If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Jett if it means he will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The $200 adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care this dog has received. (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Zoey came in off the streets of MEmphis,Tn , where she wasnt doing very well. She was a bag of bones. SHe has gained 20pounds and been spayed and is ready for her new home. SHe can go out with other dogs but has food aggression, which may resolve in time but from being so starved she is still afraid food will be gone and will protect what she has.     Hello there my pretties! My name is GloWorm and I'm the senior gal around here. I would LOVE to be out of the shelter. Why? Because I'm getting on up there in my years, and the shelter just isn't the place to be when you are getting older. I'm only 6 %BD, which is young to me, but seems that folks just don't see me that way, and think I'm OLD. Believe me there is PLENTY left in this old American Bulldog gal. I love couches, and when they let me go up front that is the FIRST place I go to. It's so comfy to these bones of mine. I seem to have no medical issues, so I laugh at the term senior gal! I'm heartworm negative and microchipped, and ... (Read More)have a lot of love to give. If you give me the chance, I will take on your family as my own, and provide the service of running off strangers you don't want poking around. Once I get to know you I love you, but others will just have to go through an inspection because believe me, they do NOT want to get on my bad side, which really isn't bad, I just want them to think it is! A lady doesn't tell her weight, but they say it may help with my image, so I'm a slim trim 60 pounds! I love my treats, and will take them to bed with me while I wait for someone to come see me the rest of the day. Will you help me find that home that I so desperately am looking for?!? GloWorm is a female Boxer possibly American bulldog mix found as a stray on Franklin Pike. She is brindle and white in color and weighs 60 pounds. She appears to have had puppies in the past. None were found with her and she was not pregnant . Once she was caught she was very amicable and gave us no issues at all. She is around 6 1/2 years old and is heartworm negative and microchipped now. She is a doll! PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Tennessee
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Tennessee Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
