I Also Go By Madeline - fancy, huh? Madie was born about July 11, 2015 and weighs about 55 lbs. She is a gorgeous girl that adores her humans, has done well with children, and is wonderful with the other dogs. She does tend to play a little on the rough side so maybe she shouldn't go to a home with really small or fragile dogs. She is fun loving and thinks she should be a lap dog. She is house trained, good on leash and loves car rides! She enjoys her toys and loves to chase balls or snowballs. She is here because her humans were moving where she couldn't go and they had few resources. So she really does look Boxer'ish, but surely ... (Read More)there is likely some Pit in there too. All her paperwork does say Boxer. She's a really sweet girl and will do well with other dogs or just by herself with humans home a reasonable amount of time. She adores us! (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, I live in CNY and have a 6 1/2 year old purebred female boxer and her name is Roxie. She is akc registered. Roxie has extremely bad allergies and we have never been able to pin point exactly what. She is on a grain free, wheat free, soy free dog food which ia 4-Health by TSC. She gets ear infections a lot and hives. She had bladder stone surgery at 2 years old and recovered well.We have been to ao and many vets and always end of leaving with $400 plus of meds that work while she's on them ( prednisone, ear drops, cephalexin) but after she completes them she goes back to the way she was. Constantly itching and scratching, hives, yeasty ... (Read More)ears. Honestly we are at our ends and do not know what else to do. We can't keep affording to take her back to the vets month after month. We give her medicated baths twice a week, benadryl, the meds, the grain free dog food and she still is constantly acting and looking uncomfortable. Roxie is an excellent dog. I've owned her since she was 8 weeks old and it's been nothing but a battle for her and I both. She is excellent with children/babies/people. Has to be on a leash and is never left outside alone. She actually doesn't like being outside, only to go to the bathroom. Roxie is a complete sweetheart. We are trying to find a boxer rescue that would be interested in Roxie and helping her with her allergy issues and giving her a home to spend the rest of her life comfortably. If you are interested please emal me back. Thank you so much, Kaitlyn. (Less)

Adorable, sweet and loving, CC is an incredible canine! Her foster says she has the cutest face he has ever seen, and we agree! CC is great with other dogs. She is housetrained, and her leash manners are improving every day. CC's ideal home would be with someone who loves the breed, who understands her need for daily, sufficient exercise, for walks and hikes, etc. She'd do best with older kids, over twelve, because she is a bit jumpy.     Casey is our Boxer / American Bulldog mix who's estimated birthdate is 07/28/12. She is an AMAZING dog, and the family that adopts this sweet girl will be very lucky! She is an absolute sweetheart, she is so gentle and kind. We rescued her with her puppies, and as the weeks went on and her puppies were of age to be adopted, they all easily found homes (This picture is over 2 months old). But as the story usually goes, the mother still waits. Casey is very calm and she is a gentle soul. She loves children, and loves when they cuddle against her. We cannot speak highly enough about the wonderful qualities this dog has.

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Hi. My husband, children and I are currently closing on a house. The loan process has taken longer than usual and during that time the lease expired on the house we were renting and they want to sell it so we had to leave. We decided to stay at my parents instead of renting again because it has always been 'any time now' until we close and finding a place that will rent to pet owners is difficult. My parents do not want the dogs here either. They tried but we have two medium sized shepard /boxer mix younger dogs. They are hyper and tear through the house and still required a lot of supervision, especially in some one else's home, so they ... (Read More)unfortunately spend a lot of time crated or tied up, which is unfair to them. However its also not fair to my parents to have dogs here if they don't want to. We don't want to get rid of them. Especially when 'any time now' we could get the keys to our new house. We can not afford to kennel them since all of our savings is going to closing on the house. Do you have any suggestions? Are there any agencies that will foster a dog temporarily? (Less)

Well, this story is pretty upsetting, but we are hoping and praying that the happy ending is not too far away. This is Santana. Santana is a 2 year old, brindle beauty with the most adorable markings on his face. Santana was a chained dog, which in of itself is terrible. But when it's the middle of the night and neighbors are calling 911 due to an animal is distress, you know something more is going on.     Mikey - Our amazing, handsome, 5 year old boy is in need of a home. Mikey came in as a stray with his sister Makayla. Makayla was adopted, but Mikey remains. Mikey likes other dogs, but does not like pushy behavior, so he would most likely prefer to be in a solo dog home. Mikey knows the commands 'drop it', 'sit' and 'speak'! Mikey also loves to get belly rubs and will spontaneously drop to the floor, exposing his belly. To be honest, Mikey is not too thrilled to be here, and his behavior is suffering because of it, so its more 'urgent' to get him into his forever home sooner, rather than later! He was so unhappy here, that he started to ... (Read More)develop some behavior issues, so we were lucky enough to be able to send him out to another trainer for 'boot camp'. She does bark when she needs to go outside, that's about it. And she does an adorable trilling sound when she's excited! She had been used as a helper dog at the shelter, that's how good she is with other dogs. Right now she is with three other dogs, and doing fantastic. Not demanding at all, she is very affectionate and cuddly. She's friendly with strangers, probably good with kids, too since she is not mouthy. She has shown no guarding issues at all. She is an angel in the crate, too. And ... (Read More)she's completely housetrained. This exceptional girl is about 48 lbs. and about four years old. WANT TO VISIT?     Chief is a 3 year old male Pit Bull Mix who was surrendered to the shelter because his owner was moving. Chief is good with other dogs but has not been tested with cats. Chief is actually on the pretty calm & quiet side, who would do well in a home with older kids and a laid back house. He's super sweet and would love nothing more then to just veg out at home with a new family.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in New York
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost New York Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
