Remember Nana? The dog who took care of the kids in Peter pan? Well, Rhoda is Nana! The sweetest foster we have ever had. So sweet with kids, adults and even the tiny puppy fosters sharing her house. We don't know her story. Blind in one eye from abuse or neglect. Was transported to NJ from a High Kill shelter in Georgia 3 months ago with her 4 babies, all of whom died. She is young. This was probably her first litter, and she thinks she is a little lap dog!She just wants to snuggle & play. She is learning to walk on a leash. She is very powerful and doesn't know her own strength but we are working with her & she is very smart. ... (Read More)Most remarkably she is very trusting and that is the most wonderful quality of this precious little girl. Rhoda is fostered in Hightstown NJ. You must be approved to adopt, visit Rhoda in person and live at least within a reasonable distance. (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Cordy is a 2 year old American Bulldog/Boxer mix. Cordy walks well on lead and is very affectionate. This happy boy was eager to receive our toy and even sat on command. Cordy was super excited to play; his favorite game seems to be tug of war. This sweet boy took treats gently from our evaluator's fingers and willingly shared his rawhide and food bowl with us. Cordy did great with both the large and small dogs he met outside. He even gave a few gentle kisses to his new canine friends. So if you are looking for a handsome friendly boy, then look no further because Cordy is the boy for you.

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-11-00034BRAD (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

BRAD was saved from San Antonio Animal Care Services at 4 weeks old along with his mother and 4 siblings, they had all been scheduled to be killed. I am not sure what breed mix he is - three out of the five siblings are brindle, which makes me think boxer, his mother was a GSD mix, so maybe some lab in there too. BRAD is the largest of his litter mates. At the rescue they have done great and when they had had their second shots they was able to be with the rest of the dogs. This has been great for them as they have been educated in how to behave in the dog world and has given them a great start to the big wide world. BRAD like his siblings ... (Read More)are all very affectionate, they are great with the dogs of all ages and since growing up around them, they are confident with dogs of all sizes. They know to go outside using the doggy door to do their business, but they sometimes have accidents, or are too lazy to go outside, so I would say to expect a little house-training to be done. They have not been kept in crates, so are not crate trained. BRAD is very confident and was the first of the litter to venture out and play amongst the big dogs. He loves running and chasing and playing with all of the dogs, small terriers to the adult German Shepherds. Although he is the biggest of his litter he is just as affectionate and will no doubt be a BIG LAP dog. BRAD is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and micr-chipped. He is too young for heart--worm testing and so will require this when he reaches 9 months of age. BILLY has an estimated date of birth of 31 January 2015 and on 28 April weighed around 15.3 pounds. BRAD is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $200. We do hope to adopt at least two siblings together since they are so bonded, if this is the case, then the adoption fee will be $225 for both pups. BRAD is located in TEXAS, however, we use Pets LLC to transport our precious saved souls from Texas to the east coast. They charge $175 per dog that is paid directly to them and is in addition to the adoption fee. If you are interested in adopting BRAD , with maybe one of his siblings, please go to the adoption tab and complete then submit the form. Applications are generally processed within a week, depending on how quickly your vet and references get back to us, if not available when we first call. http://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org/application.html (Less)

Freckles was born into our foster care program. We rescued his mother Penelope after she'd been allegedly thrown from a bridge over Lake Sam Rayburn in mid-January. When people at the marina saw what appeared to be an animal struggling in the water, boaters went to investigate. Penelope had just given up and gone under, but boaters were able to save her. She was skinny and freezing cold, but people at the marina rallied to get her warm and comfortable. Penelope went home with a nice lady named Amber who contacted us for help. We realized immediately after accepting Penelope into our program that she was expecting puppies soon. The Milne ... (Read More)family stepped up to foster this sweet family.     China came into the shelter very frightened and she was a little shy when she first came out for her evaluation but, as soon as she saw we were friends, her whole personality changed, she was happy and very friendly. A little hand shy but her kennel attendant said she is a doll and is extremely sweet. She is a beautiful dog about a 3-4 year old American Bulldog with some Boxer somewhere in her lineage. Gentle with treats but frightened of the squeaky toy. She sat for the rawhide and released it when asked. Fine with the her food test. Just give this sweet girl a little time to warm up and her real personality comes shining through. Sweet ... (Read More)girl. (Less)

URGENT! Storm is losing her foster home right before the holidays! Storm. This girl is pretty much perfect. She was surrendered to a high volume/high kill shelter due to housing issues. She is extremely tolerant of her silly and non stop playing foster sister(Junie B.!) , housebroken, good with kids and still has some spunk for a 7 year old girl! Her foster mom takes her biking! PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in New Jersey
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost New Jersey Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
