WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE A 2-3 HOUR RADIUS OF KANSAS CITY, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED YOU NEED TO COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AT www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog Approx. DOB: 12/2009, Approx. Weight: 49 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! MISS PIGGY REQUIRES A FENCED IN YARD! Miss Piggy was surrendered to FKR when her family could not care for her properly. It is our understanding, that prior to that home she had been passed around as a 'Free Dog' on various social media sites. Thankfully, Miss Piggy is now safe with us. It's her turn to find her FOREVER home! You might wonder about her ... (Read More)name...we promise it is all in good fun. If you are familiar with the boxer breed, then you are aware of the different sounds they make. Miss Piggy is no exception and makes all kinds of funny grunting sounds when playing (and let's be honest...all day). And she definitely snores when sleeping. Miss Piggy is such a happy, energetic, and wiggly girl. That little stub tail can really get going when she's excited! And her tongue is even quicker (she loves giving kisses)! Don't let her age fool you, she has a lot of energy in her! For this reason, Miss Piggy might be too much for young kids. She also needs a lot of leash work. She is very much a puller on the leash and will require someone strong to hold on to her. She is housetrained and kennel trained. LOVES to do any kind of tug of war games and most any toy brings her so much happiness! She might also play a little fetch if she's feeling up to it. Miss Piggy should not go to a home that has cats. She is a little too rough and forceful with them. She does fine with other dogs, however, she does have a few alpha tendencies while playing. If you have a dog, we will want them to meet prior to finalizing the adoption. Miss Piggy is very much a dog that is starved for attention. She craves love and can be a bit jealous if you are petting another dog. No aggression to it, just forces her way into the petting and might conveniently push the other dogs out of the way at the same time. One of her favorite things is belly rubs! You do that for her and you'll have a friend for life! If you have experience with Boxers, then you'll earn bonus points as you should have an understanding as to her personality, energy levels, and grunting noises. And FYI...Miss Piggy will need to be kept on a grain free dog food. If she's not, you can really tell a difference in her body's reaction to the food. Miss Piggy has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, given a dental and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Miss Piggy, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Rescue Me ID: 15-11-11-00717Sailor (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello! My name is Sailor--that's short for Sailor Moon! (My foster mommy was a nerd.) I'm about one year old, 60 lbs, and all love and play! I'm a bit of a mutt--I have some boxer, some bulldog, some lab, and maybe a tiny bit of pit bull. But everyone agrees that I'm gorgeous! I have adorable white markings, including a little spot on the back of my neck, and an extremely expressive face. If I don't understand what you're saying, I'll tip my head to the side and give you a look! I originally came from KC Pet Project, but my first family had health issues and couldn't take care of me. I was with a foster mommy for awhile; she was a ... (Read More)dog trainer and let me come to work with her, and she says I'm an excellent student! I am easily corrected and pick up commands quickly. Pull out some treats (I'll eat anything--even apple and banana slices!) and I'll sit down and look to you, awaiting your command! I am doing well with my basic commands. I'm completely house trained and am used to sleeping in my kennel at night and when mommy is at work. I'm learning to play outside quietly when mommy is busy; I'm very tall and agile, so I need at least a 6' fence, but I'm also okay on at least a 20' tie-out cable, as long as it's only for a few hours. I'm getting much better on my loose-leash walking, and I'm even learning to leave my foster mommy's cats alone. I will need more training and careful supervision for the first few weeks if you want me to live with cats or small animals forever, but Mommy thinks I can definitely adjust, if you work with me. I am a big ball of love and have not met a human or dog I don't like--I want to play with everyone! I would probably love a doggie sibling--as long as they were close to my size. Once I calm down, I'd probably be okay with smaller dogs, too. So far I've been great with kids. I can get a bit jumpy, but I've been working on that too. I love balls, ropes, and chewing on bones and sticks. All in all, I'm a fantastic dog with a lot of potential. With more training, I can pick up all kinds of commands--maybe even do agility! I thought I found my forever home in Festus, MO, but my new mommy found out she's allergic to dog dander. She says I've been a fantastic dog with excellent behavior, so it's not me, it's just the sneezes! I would really love to find my forever home once and for all so I don't have to bounce around anymore. Can I come home with you? To stay? P.S. My old foster mommy, the dog trainer, says she'd be happy to help my new family via phone/email with any training needs or questions they have about me. (Less)

Diesel is a 7 year old beautiful, pure bred black boxer. He is very smart and is well trained (leash, crate, house, commands). He is energetic and loves walks/jogs or lots of space to run every day. He loves to run and play and box! He loves human companionship and wants owners with lots of time and attention to give. He is dominant toward other alpha-dogs and would be best living in a home with no other dogs, or at least dogs with very submissive personalities. He is great around humans and loves to be near the family, curled up as close as possible. He is very affectionate and loves to be near you and snuggle. He is a wonderful ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Missouri
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.
