Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sire came to the shelter through Animal Control, as he was abandoned by his owners, along with his two siblings, who have since been adopted. Sire is very energetic here at the shelter but that is mostly due to the fact he is very nervous here. He is a big baby, especially when he is one on one with humans. He was raised around children and small dogs. Sire's adoption fee is $50.00 and that includes his micro chip and initial vaccines. Sire is looking for a new and loving family that he can just relax and live out his life. He will definitely be forever grateful to whomever decides to be his new owner....he is a very loyal dog. When ... (Read More)he was abandoned, he never left the home and sat on the front porch. So, so sad... this boy NEEDS a family. Please consider giving Sire the loving home that he is supposed to have. (Less)

Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Joslyn was brought into the shelter by animal control and has not been claimed. We were sure we knew who her owner was, but they refuse to claim her. She is such a gentle soul, that just wants a human's love and attention. She would make somebody an awesome companion pet. She listens very well and has earned herself a permanent spot on our office floor during the day, complete with bedding and pillows. She is a wonderful girl and everyday we pray she finds a loving home to live out her senior years. She truly did not deserve to be forgotten. Her adoption fee is $50.00, as she has been with us since November, 2013. Please, please ... (Read More)consider adopting Joslyn and giving her a loving retirement home to live out her senior years. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-25-00260Jibbers (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Jibbers was surrendered to the shelter through our animal control officer. It was reported that her and one of her off-springs killed another dog, but there was not any proof of this. She is very timid here at the shelter and is in need of some socialization. She is very loving to people and we recommend her to be the only dog in the home, due to implications by other people of aggression towards other dogs. We have not seen this behavior at the shelter, but there are some dogs that she chooses to dislike over others. Her adoption fee is $125.00 and that includes her spay and micro chip. She has been with us since December, 2014, and ... (Read More)her adoption fee will be reduced to $50.00 after she has been with us for 90 days. Please consider giving Jibbers the life she should have had in the first place. (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Vaccinations Current

Cinders was brought into the shelter through animal control and has not been claimed. She was found behind a grocery store tied to a pole. She was very timid when she arrived and very slow to warm up to people. She has become more trusting of humans and would make a wonderful watch dog. We do not recommend very small children as she may become very protective of her new family. Once she trusts you, she is yours completely. Please consider giving Cinders a new loving home. She has been with us since September, 2014 and her adoption fee has dropped to $50.00. This includes her spay and micro chip.

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Carli is a 2-3 year old brindle and white boxer. She was adopted from us about six months ago and was just returned for 'destroying a couple of crates and trashing the house when she got out of the crate'. They also said she scares everyone that comes to the house. She has apparently developed some trust issues. We truly thought this was a very good home for Carli and the initial follow-up contact was great. I don't know what happened in the time since. We do not have any foster homes available and don't have the resources to help her through these issues. We are having to pay to board her for now :O( I'm certain boarding is not ... (Read More)helping with her fear issues now either. If there is any way you can help this girl, we would be eternally grateful! She is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. I hope to hear back from you! She has delivered her puppies, been cured of her mange, and is gaining weight nicely! He now has a clean bill of health! She LOVES car rides, kennels like a dream, sleeps at the end of the bed, and is an overall excellent dog. Daisy loves all white dogs on sight. Colored fur dogs she takes a little time to warm up to. Proper intro's are needed and afterwards, she loves them too!

Rogan was rescued from local organization in October. Little was known about him at the time. He got along with our other dog and family during homr visits. Shortly after being rescued Rogan attacked and bitu husbands hand in an aggressive manner. He has since nipped at and attempted to bite multiple more times. It is believed he was abused in the past. The home he was rescued from is not responding to us. We cannot keep him much longer as we are concerned about our kids and neighbor kids. He will have to go to the humane society or be euthanized if we cannot get him a home suitable for his care. He is very loving most of the time but they ... Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Flip is a very handsome 2 year old Brittany Spaniel/Boxer mix. He is an extremely intelligent boy. He is athletic, fun-loving and a devoted snugglebug. He is a good medium size at about 45 pounds. Is he perfect? Nope! Is he awesome with amazing potential? ABSOLUTELY! We truly believe he can learn just about anything very quickly! Flip has spent most of his 2 years of life in a crate.. but he IS housetrained. He needs a little time and patience to teach him appropriate indoor play (shaking the stuffings out of pillows is not appropriate, etc.. :O) Flip wants to chase cats, birds, squirrels.... So would not be good in a home with any ... (Read More)small furries or birds. His foster home has cats, so he still has to stay in a crate, except when he goes for walks. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Michigan
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

Boxer
lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Michigan Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
