Mila came to us from dog auction in Missouri. She was a puppy mill mama her entire life. She never knew the inside of a home until we took her in. She is doing awesome, and is completely house trained and loves other dogs. She chases cats and we would recommend no cats in the home. A companion dog is required to adopt Mila. A physical fence is also required. She is fostered in Washington, IL.

Huck came to us from a commercial breeding facility (Puppy mill). He lived his entire life in a cage. He is adjusting well to home life and loves all dogs and cats he meets! He is scared, timid and trusts women quicker than men. He is gentle and sweet, and is slowing coming out of his shell in order to trust people. Dogs are his security, and his best moments are spent with other dogs! Therefore, he requires a companion dog in his adoptive home. He also requires a physical fence. He is fostered in Terre Haute, IN.

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lexie, the 1 1/2 yr old mixed breed was adopted in February but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. Due to no fault of her own, Lexie is back up for adoption and is looking for her forever home. Lexie is still a puppy, so she will need a family with lots of time, patience, and love to work with her on simple obedience and training. She is housebroken and crate trained, spayed, and UTD on vaccinations. This sweet and playful girl is your typical pup and has many years of love to give! She does tend to be a little shy at first with strangers, but warms up pretty quickly and then can't stop her butt from wiggling. She does great with the other ... (Read More)dogs, as long as she's respectful of their space and boundaries are set. Some cats she's fine with, because each individual household can be different as to how she responds to the cats. She would like a home without young children because they tend to scare her. Her adoption fee is $250 with an approved application (along with the fee towards mileage for any home visit/possible adoption). There is more information on the adoption application. If you have any further questions or would like the adoption application, please contact us! (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Blitzen, who has the appearance of an American Staffordshire Terrier & Boxer mix! She is 3 1/2 yrs old, weighs 50 lbs, is short in stature, dog friendly & loves children of all ages. We suggest no cats since she is driven to chase them. Blitzen loves car rides, playing, loves to snuggle up beside you & will give you puppy kisses. She is gentle, with a vibrant personality, loves to play & would make a wonderful companion to a person or family. Although Blitzen is crate-trained, she does well if left alone loose while nobody is home. She is spayed, microchipped, potty-trained, crate trained, learning leash manners, & up to date on all ... (Read More)vaccines. Blitzen was an owner surrender due to Blitzen having some food aggression with another household dog. Since she has been in rescue, her foster has worked with Blitzen & she doesn't appear to be having any more of these issues & eats freely with the foster's dogs. Streethearts Animal Rescue always strives to find the very best homes for our rescue dogs, fitting them to the right potential new owner. We take care of all their vetting & medical needs prior to being available for adoption. The breed we post is most often pure speculation from the dog's appearance & could not be truly identified with accuracy without a DNA test. We operate from donations only & always welcome any financial help anyone can offer to assist with the care of these misplaced dogs needs. Rescue Me ID: 17-09-07-00068Lance (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Lance is an amazing intelligent 8 month old, 50lb, large breed puppy that has survived incredible odds to become what he is today: An active happy boy who is able to walk a mile and enjoys the company of other dogs! :D Lance was found on the streets of San Antonio, TX in April 2017 near a yard filled with junk and debris. He was brought to Animal Control Services partially paralyzed. His first reports indicated that he was in much pain, but was able to move his legs in random motions. He was given a bed, pain meds, and some time to recover from whatever caused his paralysis. Because he was deemed unadoptable :/ he was also listed for ... (Read More)euthanasia. Lance was brought to the attention of Compass Dog Rescue through a FB video (shared earlier and in our photo library), and that is where his story really begins: Through incredible fostering, some generous pledges for his medical needs, a nutritious diet, some physical therapy and the perseverance by one determined dog, Lance is now walking a mile a day and is ready to start his forever home search. In his current foster home Lance has learned to walk on a leash, and he is also crate trained. He rides well in the car and looks forward to going on outings to local doggy friendly places. Lance loves to meet new people and seems to take new environments in stride. Lance is also attending obedience classes and may progress to doggie socialization groups. Lance is still working on housetraining, but that is due is some part to the delay in him having use of his hind quarters.. He likes to be clean and works hard to stay that way. For the most part, he is successful. He knows how to sit, down and is learning 'wait' for his foster mom to lead before going in and out of doors. He is highly trainable and has the drive and stamina for much more given the right environment. He seems to want the company of other dogs, and likes to try to do whatever they do - so an older dog that knows the ropes and can help Lance learn to be a great dog would be an asset in his next home. Although Lance lived with a cat in his previous foster home, and has been around cats in his current home, he does show too much interest in them for us to recommend a home with cats. Because of Lance's injury and consideration around that, his ideal home would be child free or have dog savy children 12 and up. His foster family would prefer no electric fencing or tie-outs for Lance - so a physically fenced in yard would also be best. Previous breed experience with a dog from working lines (German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois, Cane Corso) is a plus, as Lance is exceptionally intelligent and will do best in a home with experience with dogs that are driven to do a job well. Lance is an exceptional dog, who deserves an outstanding home that can support him and guide him to continue to be the best dog he can become. They need to understand that he has come so far but should his physical defects not resolve completely - will love him anyway. A village stepped up to rescue Lance and we are looking for a very special adoptive family for him that will be able to help him continue on his amazing journey. We are here to provide all the information that we have to help anyone interested make a good and informed decision. Anyone with interest in this darling miracle of a boy, please inquire today! Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Meet Beau! Beau is a gorgeous, young boy. He was left chained in a yard after his owner moved. He was emaciated and had some wounds on his hind end and face. He has gained weight and his wounds are healed!! He's such a loving dog despite what his former humans did to him. He is afraid of new people and needs a family that is willing to work with him to trust people and strangers. . He should go to a home without small children. In his left eye is a what is called a sectoral heterochromia. His eye is half blue and half brown. It doesn't hurt him and it doesn't affect his vision, it just makes him unique. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Michigan
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Michigan Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895.
