Rusty just wants LOVE & human contact! He is a super snuggler & cannot get close enough to those he loves. He'll nudge if you forget about him for a minute or 2. Rusty Seems to get along well with other dogs and has since been non reactive to others who do not want to be his friend. Rusty is protective of his surroundings & his people. He's first to alert everyone that someone may be home or the ups man is here! He's skeptical of others at first but seems to warm up fairly quickly. Rusty is an enjoyable dog. |Rescue Me ID: 16-01-26-00582Bella (female)|
Hi - I'm Bella, an energetic, sweet natured, young girl looking for a home. I love going for runs next to my foster Dad as he rides a bike. I am currently living with a foster brother whom I like to dominate so those of you with other dogs ...submissive is best...I'm an attention hog, what can I say :)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-04-00500Dozer (male)
Dozer is a very loyal dog who needs more attention than given now. No fenced yard. Has pent up energy because of that. He is great with kids, although he's a little overly loving when it comes to them. He does not get the attention he needs due to work hours and so on. My boyfriend loves him very much.but that's not enough he gets nowhere near what he needs as a dog. He needs a single family where he's able to roam the home freely & be taken care of correctly. Please help. He is very protective of his family & is a good dog.

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-08-00172Oscar (male)
Towards the end of July, Dog Star Ranch's My Way Home (MWH) program rescued two sweet, handsome boys. One of these boys is Oscar. He is a Boxer mix, estimated to be around a year old. Oscar was found as a stray, and is happy to have found his way to Dog Star where we are working on teaching him his basic manners, and boy is he smart! Oscar is such a lover! He enjoys belly rubs, giving kisses, and back scratches. It is always a hoot to watch Oscar run and play because he is so energetic. This rambunctious fella oftentimes runs and tumbles because in human words, he has four left feet! But it is his clumsiness that makes him so darn lovable! Oscar cannot wait to find his fur-ever family, he would love to find a family that is as equally as active as he is! If you'd like to meet Oscar, call Dog Star Ranch at (231) 766-0444 to make an appointment. The way our process works is you would come with all the members of your family, human and canine, to visit with Oscar (multiple visits are recommended, minimum of 2 visits is required). If you feel he would be a good fit for your family and home and you'd like to take it further, we were set up a home visit where we bring him to your house for a weekend to see if he is going to do well in your home. To adopt a My Way Home dog, we would set you up with a membership to our 48 acres of fenced in dog parks, nature trails, and ponds along with enrolling you in one of our training classes. You then get all the perks of a safe place to run and socialize your dog along with an excellent working and bonding experience from our training classes. http://dogstarranchmywayhome.blogspot.com/ http://www.dogstarranch.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-09-24-00178Buster (male)
[Read About Natural Cancer Care] Buster had arrived as a stray to our local animal control in horrible conditions and could barely walk. We are unsure of his past but obviously someone was not very nice to him and if Buster could talk he would definitely have a story to tell. After his stray hold LAA decided to take him into foster care to find out what his medical conditions were. Not only was Buster severe heartworm positive he was also diagnosed with grade 2 cancer with clear margins. He since has been treated for the heartworm and he will be tested in November to make sure he is negative and all the heartworm is gone. Buster also has had surgery for his cancer and the results were all the cancer was taken out. This poor fella has had it very rough and now its time for Buster to live a normal happy life! Buster is a sweet boy that once he bonds with his 'person' he will be a magnet. Loves to be reassured that he is loved! Great on leash, good in the car, house trained, crate trained, gentle, well mannered, laid back, and just loves to lay around all day. Buster would make a great companion for someone retired or works from home. Buster is approximately 8 years old, gets along with lower energy cats, is dog selective, and good with older children. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and micro chipped. Adoption fee is $150 If interested in adopting Buster, please fill out our online adoption application and email us at LapeersAdoptables@yahoo.com http://lapeersadoptables.org/canine-adoption-form/ (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Michigan
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.
