I am a happy loveable boy. I am a quick study. I love to play fetch. Someone said they thought I would be fun to take to puppy classes. The classes are required to adopt me. I will be neutered before I go to my forever home and will probably have my rabies

Rust with white. Build of boxer, other than mix with pit, he also has a bit of Lab in him. He is a good dog loveable,I've had him since he was 2 months old. Current on all shots, comes with vet records and rabies tag. He has too much energy for the house, but the biggest plus is he is good with children of all ages and including special needs children. He needs a good home with someone who has the room for him to exert his energy.

Rescue Me ID: 14-02-19-00097Brutus (male)
He is a very sweet and loving dog when it comes to immediate family. He is ok with me, my husband, and our kids. He gets use to family members and friends but is very unpredictable. He was neutered and had a rabies and distemper shot. We thought this would help with his aggaggression towards new people But it did not seem to change anything. He still growls, raises his fur, and sometimes tries to go after strangers. We have tried to work with him but I'm having alot of anxiety when people come over and I constantly have to lock him up or keep my eyes on him every second. He is always good around my immediate family since we have had him since he was a puppy. I do not know what else to do. I believe he can be trained but I just do not have the ability or the knowledge of how to. Please help! We love him and do not want to get rid of him but have to at this point. We are hoping to find a rescue as it Would break our hearts to see him euthanized over his aggression. Also we have two other female dogs that he gets along with. I'm not sure how he would get along with other dogs though. He has been with our older female dog since he was a puppy and the other female dog is his daughter so he's been around her since she was first born. But he tries to break down our fence to get to the neighbors male dog. They do not like each other. So I'm not sure how he would be around other dogs. We have kids that he loves and when my niece's and nephews come over he seems ok with them. But if someone were to just walk in my door without me, my husband or my kids he would more then likely try to attack them. This is what I mean by unpredictable. If we are not around then he seems to be more aggressive. If you are willing to give him a chance or need a guard dog he is the one for you. (Less)

One year old Boxer/Pitbull Mix, in need of a home. We have too many dogs now and she doesn't seem to get along with our new dogs. She has to be the only dog. She's very loyal to her owners. She's very playful and loves to chew on things. She's a pretty dog and really sweet.

Rescue Me ID: 14-02-11-00277Hank (male)
Hank needs a home ASAP. He does not get along with other dogs. We have four young children and he's never had a problem with them but I prefer sending him to a home with adults only since he is somewhat high energy and because of his size.

Rescue Me ID: 14-01-15-00628Jeanie (female)
Beautiful Jeanie is looking for her forever home. She is around 1-2 years old and is a big lover. She is a Boxer/Pit mix, but has a lot of Boxer traits in her. She gets along well with most dogs, but can play rough at times. She does not like cats or any critters. She is a very smart and loving dog who just wants to snuggle on the couch. I would not recommend her with small children as she is very energetic at times and might accidentally knock over small children. She is UTD on shots, HW negative, spayed, and both house/crate trained.

Rescue Me ID: 13-08-23-00112Chet - IN TRAINING (male)
Chet is a wonderful loving boy of approximately 1 1/2 years that will most certainly win you over with his big brown eyes and goofy ears. He loves to play, but is just as content to snuggle with you on a cold winter day. He loves his squeaky toys and takes treats very gently. Chet entered the RPSM Correctional Companion Program on January 17th where he is learning all his basic commands and maybe some cute tricks. He is doing well socializing with other dogs and has taken quite a liking to a couple of them. He even rolls over on his back giving them his stomach. Chet has learned the Sit and Down commands and is working on his Stand command. When not playing with the other dogs, Chet loves chasing his squeaky toy up and down the hall. He is a little too much for most cats so a home with NO CATS is best. Chet is always friendly towards people, though sometimes he will shy away in dim light, but when allowed to check the person out, he does fine. **Last year, Chet was diagnosed with Toxoplasmosis which caused his retinas to be severely inflamed. He was treated with antibiotics and his vision has gotten remarkably better, though he is unsure of some things in dimly lit areas. RPSM is planning to schedule Chet for another visit with the Eye Specialist before he graduates so we will know more about his vision before he goes to his forever home. Chet is neutered, UTD on all shots and on FT and HW preventative. RPSM recommends a home with children 6 years and older and a standard fence because of Chet's limited vision. His adoption fee is $175. Please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application to adopt Chet. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-07-26-00337Calvin (male)
Calvin is a sweet and friendly young dog. He is energetic and eager to please. Calvin is a bright boy who already knows 'sit' and 'stay.' With the right family, Calvin will grow into an awesome dog. An experienced bully breed owner and obedience training would be the ideal fit for this active boy who is still learning proper dog etiquette. Families with young children would not be the best fit for Calvin. Stop by and visit with this charming pup.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Michigan
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.
