Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Adoption for a lovely, sweet, American Staffordshire Terrier 50%, Boxer 32%, and mix (dog DNA panel done). DNA was done through wisdom DNA panel. She is fostered in a loving home which has allowed her to blossom into a spunky, loving, energetic puppy! She is spayed and has some shots. I also am going to contribute to 50% of 3 private training lessons by 'My Fantastic Friend'. They come to the home if in the drive area. We want her in a safe and loving environment willing to properly train her. She already has some basic obedience commands like sit and is fully house trained. She loves to be around people. She is looking for a forever home ... (Read More)where she has lots of love, walks, tug of war, and a bit of a backyard. She loves to be held and snuggled at night. She sleeps with her favorite kiddo every night. She loves other dogs to play with and be with after a short greeting. She just loves new people and is very excited at first but then settles down after a few minutes. She lives with another small male dog and plays with him in such a sweet and loving way. It is unknown how she would behave with a cat. We are open to a two week trail period to ensure the fit is right and that you will adore her. Love and kisses is what she wants to give and receive. A contract that states you will treat her well and return her to her foster family should things not go well or a situation arise. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-14-00164Max (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected, Aggressive

Max is an 8 year old mutt with perfect markings of a boxer with more a pit head. May just be a mixture of boxer and pit, may have something else added. He is also very loving and loyal if he does know you. He was trained to be a guard dog, and is very protective to the point of severe aggression towards people he does not know- even if the humans seem fine with the visitor. He is technically house-trained, but has been locked up inside a house living on his own basically (mostly daily visits for food and water) for 3 years, so he has gotten used to going to the bathroom inside (but only really goes in one place). He needs someone who ... (Read More)is able to dedicate time and attention towards training him. He was my father's pet, but my father passed away suddenly in November 2017 and my brother and I do not have the means to keep him or commuting to feed him daily. We would prefer not to euthanize, but that is seeming to be our only real option unless we can find someone willing to take him in. The post says 'unknown' in reference to cats due to the fact that for the first year of Max's life my dad also had an indoor/outdoor cat. Please email or text instead of calling. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Maryland
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Maryland Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
