Titan will be 2 yrs old 5/20. He is a boxer, pit bull, lab mix approximately 65-70 pounds. He is EXTREMELY protective of his owner. He needs socialized with people! Most of the time he does well after treats from a new person. The new owner MUST be willing to spend time with Titan to train him properly. I rescued him from another family and I do not believe he had the opportunity to be socialized. My mother is sick and I need to care for her. I do not have the time to spend with him that he needs and deserves. He needs a place to be able to run and burn off his energy.

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-15-00040Rusty (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Vaccinations Current

SEARCHING FOR FOSTER/ADOPTER! Rusty has something to say... 'Hi, I'm Rusty! I'm a medium sized love bug! I haven't had the easiest life so far. I was living on the streets fending for myself for some time. Suddenly I found myself contained to the barn of an overcrowded shelter in June, 2017. It wasn't until the nice people of Double Dog Dare Rescue pulled me into the rescue, was I given a second chance of finding happiness. It has been tough for me adapting to all of these changes. I'm hoping there is a patient person out there willing to welcome me into their home, either as a foster or a permanent addition to their family. I've been a ... (Read More)bit anxious with all of the changes, so I'm hoping to find some stability. I am a sweet boy who just needs a little bit of guidance because I've missed out on a lot of the great things life has to offer. A foster/adoptive home with a flexible schedule or home often would be helpful with my adjustment. I would do best in a home with either no other dogs or perhaps one other. Since I never learned how to appropriately interact with other dogs, I would need a proper introduction. I worked with a trainer recently who told me I am very handsome and smart. We worked on recall and redirecting my attention to her instead of scary things that may make me nervous. I did a great job and just love being praised! It made me so happy, I was leaning into her with a big smile. If you think I could be a good fit for your family, please contact my rescue at doubledogdarerescue@gmail.com ' (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Maryland
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Maryland Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
