Rescue Me ID: 14-04-03-00411Ramona (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ramona came to us while I was looking for a dog. Her owners and I agreed to set up the day/night for her to stay with us and see how she reacted in the house. After learning that she was not potty trained, leash trainers, and crate trained like they said we decided that she was not a fit for us. We called and emailed the people and they never responded back. This little girl was afraid of men, any sound, and myself and my roommate being young adults we play fight and she set off. We realized that they abused her terribly. She kept pottying in the house and we took her to the vet and it turned out she have a severe UTI. This pup is not a city ... (Read More)or apartment dog. We had her since August but with me being a young adult living in the city working long hours with a full time job I realize it's not fair for her to be here. But I wouldn't just drop her off with any person. I love her dearly but I know that love also means letting go. Shes a handful and needs attention. Lots of room to run, and someone who has time to work with her. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Maine
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Maine if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Maine Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
