Animal ID: 14-00558Pepperoni (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Pepperoni! He's an adorable 3 month old lab / boxer mix who currently weighs 12 pounds. We guesstimate Pepperoni will be in the upper medium to large range as an adult. This precious little boy was found running down the middle of the road and saved by a pizza delivery guy, so we decided to name him Pepperoni! He saw the vet today for his exam and first round of vaccines. He charmed everyone there at the vets office with his cute little snout and his funny and playful personality. Pepperoni is scheduled for neuter on 10/9/14. He's just a pup, so his foster mom is working on potty training and he's doing very well so far. He's crate ... (Read More)trained and learning to walk on a leash. He was a little afraid of the bigger dogs in the house at first, but quickly started playing when he realized they weren't going to hurt him. He's also good with the cats in his foster home. He's good with all people, though he hasn't been around small children yet. But he's just a pup, so we don't forsee any problems. Pepperoni will need a fenced yard in his new home so he'll have plenty of room to run around and play. He is a happy, playful, silly little guy who also loves to snuggle up close. He is also a great car rider and didn't once try to climb in my lap, instead opting to just chill on the passenger seat. In the words of his foster mom, 'Pepperoni is flipping fantastic!' Are you looking for a happy, fun little guy like Pepperoni? Approved application required. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-30-00009Tallulah (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Tallulah's come a long way in the last few months, but she still has a long way to go, and she's looking for a caring, forever owner to give her the help she needs. Tallulah was found living in a warehouse, surviving on her wits, and what little food she could find, until she was caught in a trap.....baited with rat poison. This beautiful pup is about a year old and her weight is now over 40 pounds, though she's still a bit thin. However, we are pleased to report that this sweet girl has recovered from the poisoning and she even tested negative for heartworm disease. Not surprisingly, considering her rough start in life, Tallulah is ... (Read More)extremely shy and she still has much to learn about living in a real home. Tallulah never forgets a kindness though, and once you've earned her trust, she will want your constant companionship. That means she's likely to stay close by your side when you're at home, and she can become extremely anxious if left alone in an enclosed space for a long period. So, when you're away from home, Tallulah will need to stay in a secure yard with plenty of shelter. Do you have the time and devotion needed to help this deserving pup come out of her shell? If so, please text Tallulah's foster mom at (225) 933-7572, for more information. Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rowe is a 1.5-2 year old, 50 pound male heartworm negative boxer mix. He has a beautifully shaped head, coal black doleful eyes that hint at many past sorrows, and an athletic and well-proportioned muscular body. His white coat is splashed with vanilla wafer colored accents, and is so soft that it is therapeutic to the touch. Too many months spent in the shelter had broken Rowe's spirit, but each day spent in his foster home sees his tail held a bit higher, his head up and his ears relaxed. He is an easy keeper and a grateful guest there with multiple dogs and a cat and is just starting to mouth plush toys and chase tennis balls. Come meet ...     Beautiful part-lab/boxer mixed. Very good with people but does not like small 'yappy' dogs. Was a rescue dog himself from Houston, TX. Shelter he was in was raided by Humane Society for having too many dogs resulting in some dieing. Spindle Top Rescue was the name. Love this dog but he keeps digging out of the yard and we don't want him to get hit by car. Loves people.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Louisiana
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Louisiana if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Louisiana Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
