[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Very sweet old girl. She is only having accidents at times. I am unable to let her out as often as she needs to with her old age due to having 5 children and having a very busy schedule. I would love for her to be able to live out the remainder of her time in a loving home where they have time to give her the care she needs. She is very protective, however, she has never bit anyone. She just sounds very mean when someone comes to the door. We normally lock her in a room until we let the person in and then we let her out and she smells them and gets all excited wanting to be loved on. She can still be hyper ...     Mountain cur/boxer mix. He is 9 months old. He does have separation anxiety. When he is left alone and out of his crate he chews on everything in sight. When he is with other dogs or has people around him he does great. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. He is in his crate at bed time and when we leave the house. He needs a place to run, but cannot be left off of his leash outside unless he is in an enclosed area. He is extremely fast. He would be best suited with another dog who can play with him. He is very active and very loving. He loves kids, but still doesn't quite understand that he can't jump on them and play too rough with ... (Read More)them. But, he's doing really well with running. He is an incredibly smart dog. He's my baby boy but I'm moving and cannot take him with me or I will be immediately kicked out. Rescue Me ID: 16-06-21-00264Fiona (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Update 6/27/16 After a trip to the vet today, it turns out that Fiona is in great health, including her teeth, and the vet didn't believe she was 9. She's a boxer mixed with Lab, not a pitbull mix as previously thought. After socializing her with other animals over the weekend, we've discovered that she's great with dogs who LIKE other dogs, but is too playful for dogs who are standoffish or slow to warm up. She has a strong play/prey drive and isn't good with cats as a result, because she doesn't understand to be gentle with them. She needs a fenced in yard, absolute requirement, because she's so high energy. Would be great as an only pet ... (Read More)or with dogs who love other dogs. Adores children, though be cautious because she is so playful she isn't always gentle. Adoption fee will be donated to this site. Happy to arrange introductions if you're interested. Original post: Fiona is a 9 year old black lab/pitbull mix. She's a high energy dog who loves to tug and run. She enjoys other dogs as long as she can be the alpha, but is poorly socialized and doesn't respond well to other dogs setting boundaries. If another animal growls/snaps at her to set a boundary, she often becomes startled and responds with aggression in return. However, with dogs who are submissive or do not need to set many boundaries, she is playful and fun. She is almost never aggressive to humans, but has been known to growl if you grab her collar to lead her. She would likely benefit from a home where she will be the only animal. She is crate trained and housebroken. She is slightly underweight no matter how much we feed her, so she's got a naturally slim build, and has been losing weight the past few months. Additionally, she's very vocal, and will bark to get your attention if she wants something, like time out of her crate, or to go potty. She IS fully crate trained, but will only enter for a food treat. Once in, she's typically fine for 8 hours. Updated on rabies vaccine, spayed, never whelped. Has been recently treated for fleas (which she was allergic to, so she is still regrowing hair in some spots). Has beautiful, refined facial features and has literally never met a human she didn't like. Has a full, whip-like tail so be cautious with small children. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Indiana
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

Boxer
lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Indiana Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
