Raph is a fantastic dog who currently lives with me and my three young kids. Hes a cuddler and super sweet. He gets attached to people very quickly. Our current situation just isn't ideal for him, he is a wonderful dog. He doesn't require a lot of exercise, loves kids. I took him in as a foster for a friend in need and he just deserves more than my situation can provide. He has been to the vet, up to date on shots, and has been boarded. I haven't had him long enough to see him with other animals - but his previous home he lived with other dogs. He's curious about cats but hasn't been close enough to interact.

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Low Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miss Lady Bug! Lady is Boston Terrier/Boxer mix and roughly 7 years old. Lady was pulled from Indianapolis Animal Care Services. Lady was a rescue only due to her age and the condition of her left eye and she was shutting down in the shelter environment. Lady was estimated by IACS to be 9 years old, but our vet believes she is more around 7 years. It is very clear that Lady was used as a breeding machine most of her life. And although she was an owner surrender due to a move, we feel it was because they had no more use for her. Lady's teeth were in horrible condition, our vet called it 'cage biting' from either chewing on a crate or ... (Read More)metal fence. She has signs of being chained up and was either kept outdoors in the elements or in a damp basement. Her left eye has a scarred cornea from an old injury and will likely go blind in that eye at some point. She does need eye drops and ointment daily for her eye, but she does well with getting it each day. Due to her over breeding Lady also has some leakage issues and has to be on a supplement to help prevent this. Neither the eye drops or supplement are costly and we hope this does not deter anyone from this sweet girl. Lady had some noncancerous mammary tumors removed and was spayed after arriving to AHS. Despite all she has been through, Lady is seriously a sweetheart and has so much love to give. She can be unsure of new people, but is quickly won over with a treat. Lady loves to run in the yard and strategize how she will catch a squirrel. She loves to sunbathe and LOVES playing with her Kong Wubba. She has the cutest little ears that flop while she runs through the yard. All Lady wants is a soft bed to lay on and be with you. She on occasion likes her space and does find her crate as a safe zone when she needs alone time or time to decompress. Lady would make a wonderful pet to first time dog owners. Lady is house and crate trained. Lady does well with children and spent some time in a foster home with a rambunctious 2 year old and did awesome. She would do okay with another dog (she likes to be boss), but she is A Okay being the only pet. Sadly she never really learned to be a dog so she is unsure on how to play with others She did well with the cats while at the sanctuary, but was pretty interested in the cats at her foster home. If you have a scaredy cat, she may chase it. If you have cat that will stand up for itself, then you should be fine. Lady does well on a leash and loves to go for walks. Lady has a beautiful personality and deserves a forever home where she knows she is loved and safe. Can you give this to her? Adoption fee: $150 Last updated 11/15/17 Interested in this dog/cat? Personality: Average Energy, Submissive

Milan is a very cute and sweet girl who LOVES to go on walks! She is very loving to her human friends, but often needs some reassurance that she is in a safe place where she doesn't need to be scared, and sometimes just a little extra time when the reassurance and comfort is coming from men. She does great with all the doggie friends she has met so far, and even tolerates the kitty that lives at her foster home! That is...as long as she doesn't creep on Milan's food - which any girl of any species totally understands ٪ Adoption Fee: $100 Apply: www.duboiscountyhumane.org/apply.html

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Faith is a goofy, happy and very playful boxer mix who loves to smile. She is good with non-challenging dogs, cats, and would do best with older children (8 and up). Faith is active and very much Boxer like, she is very smart but can be bull headed. Faith loves playing fetch and is good off leash. Faith is a strong girl! She enjoys long walks, and is very food motivated. Faith also calms down easily and loves nothing more than to cuddle. Did we mention she has a sweet smile? Faith had a rough start in life before arriving to AHS. Because of that past she can be defensive with other dogs. If she is challenged she will get defensive. She ... (Read More)could do well in a home with other dogs, with a slow introduction and if those dogs won't challenge her. Faith would also do well as the only dog. She loves human companionship. Faith arrived to AHS with a severe skin disease. She's been treated and fully healed. All Faith wants now is a loving forever home. Could you provide the happily ever after that Faith is looking for? Faith is house and crate. Adoptionfee: $100 Last updated 2/1/18 Interested in this dog/cat?     Meet Anna! Anna is a young girl and believed to be a boxer mix. Anna had a sad start in life. As a puppy she was being promoted as a bait dog. Thankfully we found her and rescued her before she could be sold into that world. Despite her beginning in life Anna is as sweet as they come. She absolutely loves being with her people and loves them deeply. She is the definition of a snuggler! Anna can be very playful and does a great job entertaining herself with toys. She also settles easily and makes a great Netflix and chill pal. Anna either needs to be the only pet in the home. Anna doesn't mind being the only dog as she simply wants to just ... (Read More)be with her people and doesn't really care to be around other animals. She becomes your shadow and just hangs out wherever you are. Anna becomes defensive when other dogs challenge her and sadly she does not know how to play properly. She will not be a dog that would enjoy puppy play dates. Anna does well with older children at the sanctuary. Anna is house and crate trained and up to date. Anna needs a breed experienced owner and will need some continued training with her new family. (She is still a counter surfer which we are working on). No cats or other pets for this girl. Anna just wants a home where she can love and be loved. Where someone will accept her fully and give her the love and comfort she deserves. Adoption fee $100 Last updated 12/3/17 Interested in this dog/cat? PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Indiana
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Indiana Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
