Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

We are best friends. We love each other so much. Will you please adopt us together? Let me tell you a little bit about us. My name is Chino. I am the 10 year old grey boy on the left. My fur-brother here, Max, is a 3 year old Boxer. He sure does have a lot of energy and always wants to play. I'm content to relax and watch him be funny and active. He's such a good friend to me, though. Our friends at the shelter are still learning how we feel about other dogs and cats. They will update when they know more details! I may be 10 years old, but overall I'm not in terrible health. I did have an allergic reaction to some fleas, but I am ... (Read More)being treated for that. My human friends here at the shelter keep saying how gentle, loving, and handleable I have been. My brother Max seems to be in great health! He likes to run and play and bounce all around! We would love a home that likes to take us on walks. We enjoy going outside but also love to nap and cuddle where you are. We really both love people. As long as the kiddos in the home are respectful, most likely anyone older than 8 would be a lots of fun! Our human friends at the shelter keep telling us that we are such an awesome pair. They have seen how special our bond is and we are so appreciative that they are working so hard to find us a home together. Please come meet us. We offer twice the happiness, smiles, laughter, and most importantly love. Love, Chino and Max (Less)

Meet Bigg! Bigg came to AHS all the way from Mississippi. Bigg lived his entire life with his previous owner on the road who drove a semi for a living. Bigg's owner fell ill and no other family could take him in, that is how Bigg ended up in the shelter. Bigg is a senior boy and we couldn't say no to rescuing him. We were told Bigg was around 13, but our vet estimates him to be no older than 9. We were also told he is a boxer/bulldog mix. He had a recent vet visit and other than some arthritis he is in perfect health! Bigg is sweet and gentle and very easy going. He gets along with dogs, cats and so far everyone he has met. Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

The first step of the adoption process is to complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. If the ad is still viewable, we are still accepting applications. The adoption fee is $150. Meet Snickers. This adorable brindle girl is a 2-year-old mixed breed baby. Although everyone wants to jump to label bully mixed dogs as pits--we were told by the previous owner that she was--Snickers seems to be something else. She is a slender build 40-pound girl with lanky legs. Perhaps she has some boxer in her, but we just don't know. One thing we are certain of, Snickers is a super duper sweetheart! Snickers ... (Read More)seems to love all people. She is silly, playful, and totally cuddly; she is also quite kissable. We think kids who don't mind a girl who can get bouncy when extra excited would be a good fit for her. So far, we have not seen Snickers show any fondness for other animals. We will gradually introduce to other dogs and see if we can find a size or gender preference. At this point we think she should be the only pet. Snickers would love a home that will give her plenty of attention. She is a bit of a velcro buddy ad really likes to be with her people. She doesn't have a large repertoire of tricks, but she listens well and likes to be rewarded for good behavior. Snickers is look for a foster or foster-to-adopt home where she can trade a cozy bed for the kennel. Snickers will be spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Moe! Moe is a 1.5 year old boxer mix who was pulled from Muncie Animal Control at the end of July. Moe was labeled as aggressive, but he has shown zero aggression with us (and we have pushed him to see it). He definitely has a boxer personality and is very smart and a quick learner. He has been a total sweetheart here at the sanctuary. He is all puppy and can easily entertain himself with toys. Moe gets along great with dogs and plays well. Moe is great with dogs, cats and is amazing with children. Moe would do best with older children due to his energy level and may be too rough with little ones. Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

As long as the ad is available, we are still accepting applications. Meet Stryker. This handsome guy is awesome. He is really a cool guy who is pretty easy to please. A little exercise, something to chew on, and the opportunity to follow you from room to room makes him a happy camper. Stryker is 1.5-year-old mixed breed guy. He weighs bout 60 pounds and might be a boxer/shepherd/who-knows-what mix. The soft brindle coat is gorgeous. Stryker is a very friendly, happy guy who gets ... (Read More)along with everyone. He is currently living with children and does great with them. He also lives with a cat. He would kind of like it if the cat would play, but this feline roommate isn't the least bit interested. Stryker loves to play with other dogs. He could live with another dog or be an only dog who has play date or visits to the dog park. We do think he would enjoying having a buddy around at least part time. If you are looking for a total cuddle buddy, Stryker is not your guy. He loves to be near his people and will follow them everywhere, but he doesn't want to be draped across their laps or snuggled up in in bed. He knows several commands and is treat motivated. He needs more leash practice, although he has gotten much better with a harness. Stryler is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained. Stryker's adoption fee is $175. Please complete an application on our website at .pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-17-00176Lady Bug (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miss Lady Bug! Lady is Boston Terrier/Boxer mix and roughly 7 years old. Lady was pulled from Indianapolis Animal Care Services. Lady was a rescue only due to her age and the condition of her left eye and she was shutting down in the shelter environment. Lady was estimated by IACS to be 9 years old, but our vet believes she is more around 7 years. It is very clear that Lady was used as a breeding machine most of her life. And although she was an owner surrender due to a move, we feel it was because they had no more use for her. Lady's teeth were in horrible condition, our vet calling it 'cage biting' from either chewing on a crate or ... (Read More)metal fence. She has signs of being chained up and was either kept outdoors in the elements or in a damp basement. Her left eye has a scarred cornea and will likely go blind in that eye at some point. She does need eye drops and ointment daily for her eye, but she does well with getting it each day. Due to her over breeding Lady also has some leakage issues and has to be on a supplement to help prevent this. Neither the eye drops or supplement are costly and we hope this does not deter anyone from this sweet girl. Despite all she has been through, Lady is seriously a sweetheart and has so much love to give. She can be unsure of new people, but is quickly won over with a treat. Lady loves to run in the yard and strategize how she will catch a squirrel. She loves to sunbathe and LOVES playing with her Kong Wubba. She has the cutest little ears that flop while she runs through the yard. All Lady wants is a soft bed to lay on and be with you. She on occasion likes her space and does find her crate as a safe zone when she needs alone time or time to decompress. Lady is house and crate trained. She does well with dogs and children (foster home has a rambunctious 2.5 year old). She did well with the cats while at the sanctuary, but was pretty interested in the cats at her foster home. If you have a scaredy cat, she may chase it. If you have cat that will stand up for itself, then you should be fine. Lady does well on a leash and loves to go for walks. Lady has a beautiful personality and deserves a forever home where she knows she is loved and safe. Interested in Lady? She prefers to be close to you and will sleep right next to you if allowed! Reese does a good job at being mostly house-trained. She also knows how to sit, come, lay down, and is learning how to sit pretty. She's shown to be a decent leash-walker, too! Reese loves to play with tennis balls or squeaky toys. She can be playful at times but then is content to be lazy and couch-potato like! Reese would prefer if any children were older - she loves to play and may bit a bit much ...     Meet Anna Banana! Anna is a young girl and believed to be a boxer/lab mix (best guess) with possible pitbull. Anna had a sad start in life. As a puppy she was being promoted as a bait dog. Thankfully we found her and rescued her before she could be sold into that world. Despite her beginning in life Anna is as sweet as they come. She absolutely loves being with her people and loves them deeply. She is the definition of snuggler! Anna can be very playful and does a great job entertaining herself with toys. She also settles easily and makes a great Netflix and chill pal. Anna needs to be the only dog in the home. She needs slow ... (Read More)introductions with other dogs and would do best around other dogs that won't challenge her. She is perfectly content just hanging with her people, but if she has playdates they need to be supervised as she plays hardcore. We are not sure what triggers her but she can go from playing to defensive. Anna does well with older children at the sanctuary. Anna is house and crate trained and up to date. Anna needs a breed experienced owner and will need some continued training with her new family. (She is still a counter surfer which we are working on) Anna just wants a home where she can love and be loved. Where someone will accept her fully and give her the love and comfort she deserves. Interested In Anna? Please complete an adoption form from our website www.animalhousesanctuary.org and email to AHSAdopt@gmail.com. Questions/Inquiries can be directed to Cindy at 609-992-6649. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Indiana
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Indiana Spay & Neuter Clinics
