Charley is full of kisses and tail wags for everyone he meets - including children. He rolls over for belly rubs and just loves being touched. He knows the commands sit and down and takes treats incredibly gently from your fingers. He is perfectly housebroken, quiet and well-behaved in the home. Rescue Me ID: 15-04-05-00158Beautiful Briggs (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Briggs is very healthy, well behaved, perfectly house trained, up to date on her shots, spayed and ready to steal your heart. Briggs is very affectionate, friendly and intelligent. She is a bit nervous around kids under 5, so her perfect home will be with a family with older children, a couple or single with lots of time to spend with her. This sweet dog is being rehomed by her owners, who are heartbroken to have to make this very difficult decision. Unfortunately being the parents to two small children with special medical needs has left them little time to take care of Briggs. They feel that it would be better for Briggs to be ... (Read More)adored by someone who can give her the time, attention, affection and exercise she needs and deserves. Briggs will be rehomed with all of her doggie belongings. Please offer this deserving dog a forever home today, and help bring a happy ending to this unfortunate situation. To offer Briggs a home, please fill out our adoption application form here: http://petprosservices.com/adopt/. There is a $75 rehoming/adoption fee. Supplies will be included. If you have any questions about Briggs, please email us with your phone number, and we will be happy to give you a call. Breed of Pet Mix - Bull Terrier and Boxer Age of Pet 5 years Size/Weight (if Dog) 75 lbs. Pet's Color and Coat Type Black and White Does this pet get along with cats? Yes Does this pet get along with dogs? Yes Does Your Pet Have Any Health Problems? Yes If yes, please provide details: ACL replacement in both hind legs Please Describe Your Pet's Personality Briggs is super friendly and loves people. She is slightly skittish around children under the age of 5 years old; they move too quickly for her. She is very playful and loves to sit outdoors. She is a very relaxed dog. What is your home environment like? Currently, overcrowded. In the past four years my wife and I have married, had two children, and managed two dogs as well. Space has become an issue; and we feel rehoming is the best solution for Briggs. Please Tell Us A Little About Your Family: Again, within the past four years my wife and I have gotten married and each brought a pet from our singles days to our joint home. We have since had two children in two years that have required extensive hospital stays and have special needs that require extra attention. What are your pet's favorite toys, foods, activities? She loves to play catch; with balls and ropes. She will let you know when she is tired and just lay in either the sun or the snow. She loves to take walks through the neighborhood getting a chance to socialize with new people and animals. Her favorite treats are anything bacon flavored! If possible, please tell us a funny, cute or heartwarming story about your pet. My mother was watching her as I was traveling during the winter. She took Briggs for a walk and slipped on the ice. No serious injuries to my mother and Briggs sat patiently by her side to ensure she was okay and as she collected herself and got back on her feet. For What Reason(s) are you needing to rehome your pet? Within the past two years our family has expanded with two children whom were born prematurely. Both have chronic lung disease as a result as well as other special medical situations that require extra attention. Briggs needs to be in a home were time and space are available for her to have the lifestyle she was accustom to prior to tight quarters and small children with special needs. Please describe what you are looking for in an adoptive family/home for your pet: An ideal home is a family or individual that is looking for a dog who loves to walk and enjoys the dog park. A semi-active home with just the right amount of freedom and stimulation to keep her active and fit. Briggs has lived in both the urban and rural homes and adjusts extremely well to either; as long as she is walked about a mile each day to socialize and exercise she is very content. What supplies and accessories will come with your pet? Dog crate, food bowl, water bowl, toys; balls and ropes, dog bed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-20-00572Petey (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Petey is a very friendly, sweet, playful and lovable three-year-old, 64-pound, male, black and white Boxer/American Bulldog-mix with warm brown eyes looking for a loving guardian. Petey is great with people of all ages - including small children. He's relaxed and not at all hyper or jumpy. He's wonderful in the home and leans against you lovingly. He is a homebody who loves being with his people. He loves a fenced-in yard, enjoys playing with his toys and is perfectly housebroken. Petey is extremely responsive to his people. He is well-trained and knows the commands sit and stay. His favorite treats are bananas and apples; his foster ... (Read More)family likes to keep him healthy and he is very food-motivated. Currently being fostered in Chicago's South Loop neighborhood, Petey is just not a city guy. He is reactive on leash and nervous in the city. He'd rather have a yard of his own to run and play in and a more suburban neighborhood without all the noise and congestion. So he is looking for a home that definitely has a secure fenced-in yard. He is currently living in a foster home with another large dog. He is best with male dogs - especially labs and bully breeds who don't mind his rough manner of play. Petey has a strong prey drive so he's best in a home without cats, rabbits or other small pets. Petey is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, heartworm-tested and micro-chipped. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Animal Care and Control. To meet and possibly adopt Petey, please contact Kat at kat@fcacc.org or if you have questions for his current foster mom, please contact Ania at pniewska.ania@gmail.com or 312-730-6687. (Less)

Animal ID: 2643Bailey (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bailey is a 2 year old American Fox Hound/Boxer mix. She was dna tested with proof of this exciting identity. Bailey is around 60lbs and is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed. She is very athletic and loves to stay active throughout the day. If given a simple toy Bailey will entertain you with her goofy antics and amusing behavior. She loves to go on walks and let her 'hound' show by tracking anything that has left a scent. She has had extensive basic command training and isn't afraid to show off. She has good leash manners, but she could be better about not pulling. Her foster mom is giving her lots of time and love to make ... (Read More)sure Bailey can be the best at everything she does. She is crate and potty trained. When the day is done Bailey is a cuddle bug. She will climb into your lap if given the chance and nuzzle next to you. She gives soft kisses and hugs. She has camping experience, and would do great with a home that stays active throughout the year to keep her mind and body healthy. Bailey is the all American dog, a happy-go-lucky pup. She adapts well to her surroundings whatever they may be. She has a great smile and is sure to share her happiness with everyone she meets. She is great with other dogs and loves her foster sister Addie, a beagle mix, who she spends most of her time playing with. Her puppy dog eyes show her true spirit. One that will be loyal, fun, and extremely loving to anyone who gives her a chance. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Illinois
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.
