Rescue Me ID: 14-12-14-00486Roxy (female)
Meet Roxy. Roxy showed up on our doorstep one evening. We don't know where she came from but she was malnourished, had a rope mark around her neck, and was producing milk. We looked for an owner to no avail. We had her checked out and vaccinated and our neighbors have been fostering her ever since. They can not continue to foster her much longer as her caregiver has been diagnosed with cancer and is getting treatment. Roxy is a very sweet girl that deserves a loving home. She will need training as she loves to jump up and gets very excited (happy excited). She likes to chase cats, so would be better in a home where there weren't any. I'm going to say she'd probably not do well with kids either due to the jumping (she's a strong girl). She needs someone that will help her expend that energy!! She will need to be spayed but is current on her vaccinations. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-09-00204Buster B. (male)
Buster was found as a stray along with his sister, who his foster has named, Bessie. No one claimed them, and we are guessing they were dumped. Buster is a handsome dog who we think will make a great pet. Here's hoping we can find him a home for the holidays!

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-04-00158Opie (male)
Opie was adopted from our shelter as a 12 week old puppy. He was recently returned as the family is now having a baby and have no time for Opie. Opie is now about 2 years old. Opie is a high energy boy that would benefit from some obedience training. He is okay with most dogs but does bark at them and plays hard. If other dogs are in the home a meet and greet is required. Opie has lots to offer to a family and deserves a second chance. An experienced dog handler would be best for Opie. He does jump up some so best with older children.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-25-00371Chata (female)
Chata is a sweet, smart, and cuddly 12-year-old, 46-pound, brindle and white female Bulldog/Boxer-Mix a looking for a loving foster home or a permanent guardian. Chata loves people of all ages including children. She loves her ears rubbed and her tail is happily wagging all the time. She loves to go for walks and is happy with a yard as well. She loves hanging out with her family on the couch and playing with her squeaky toys. She is fine as the only dog, but she also loves other mellow dogs who are her size or smaller - not larger dogs and not cats. Chata is perfectly crate-trained and housebroken if taken out on a regular frequent basis. She is trained to sit for treats. She loves treats and will do anything for them - including smiling. Dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control, Chata had lived with a family with three small children. They were moving and couldn't take her with. If not for LuLu's Locker Room Rescue, she would have been euthanized that night. Chata is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested and micro-chipped. To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact her foster dad Martin at firstname.lastname@example.org at 773-220-5924. She comes complete with a complimentary training session. She is being fostered in Chicago's West Rogers Park neighborhood. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-22-00124Liberty (female)
Meet adoptable Liberty (being called Ingrid in her foster home)! Liberty is a gorgeous, 1.5 year old white Boxer that is a total doll. She absolutely loves people and is super smart. Liberty is deaf, but she has great eye contact and really strives to please. She has just completed a month long training course to learn her commands in sign language and help give her the skills needed to succeed. She is fully vetted, uptd on vaccinations and has received a full dental with extractions. Liberty prefers the company of people over other dogs and was picked on by the furry companions in her previous home so she would do best in an only dog home. Due to her size, we think she would do best with older children. Please email email@example.com for more information! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Illinois
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.
