Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

My name is Sam, short for Samantha. I just turned 5 years old and am either a boxer or a pit bull mix breed...maybe both. I weigh about 24 lbs. I go to the doctor regularly. I live in the house with my family and snuggle on the couch a lot. I love my family and my 2.5 year old human brother but I can play a little too rough sometimes. I love to go on walks or runs to get my energy out. My family recently moved to a busy street. If I see the slightest opportunity to run away, I take it. They are really scared I am going to get hit by a car. (I ran into the side of one just recently but luckily I am ok.) My family is moving again this fall and ... (Read More)are not able to take me with this time. I would love to join a new family that will love and play with me. I don't really get along with cats or very small dogs.I do need to be more polite when people come into my house, I still just get so excited. I survived the parvovirus when I was a baby. The vet said I was a miracle! (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Cate DOB: May 24, 2014 Breed: German Shepherd/Boxer Baby - Female - Large I am Cate. I am one of 7 lucky puppies that were rescued from Kentucky. Our mother is a beautiful and gentle German shepherd that was not treated properly by her owners, so she was taken away from them. As soon as Casey's heard about our family they came to our rescue and brought us to Illinois where they knew we would be safe. We were placed in foster care where we have been since we were 3 weeks old. I enjoy playing with my foster sister (a giant black lab) and my real brothers and sisters. We play with ropes, balls, newspaper, and just about anything we can find. We ... (Read More)are a very affectionate group of pups and because of this we sometimes fight over who gets cuddle with our foster family. My foster mom calls me 'Princess Cate' because I am definitely royalty! I sit tall and beautiful, as every girl should. I help my foster family keep my 5 brothers in line! I enjoy being the center of attention, which sometimes can be difficult with 6 siblings who also like the same thing. When I'm not dealing with the boys I am a sweet girl that loves to cuddle, play, and give kisses. I have a medium brown coat that has a slight brindle to it in some spots (depending on the light) and a black face. I am still very young and need someone to be home with me most of the day. I still do not always know right from wrong, will be starting potty training this week but will probably still have accidents as I learn, and I cry when I am alone. I am very energetic and will be a large dog, so patience, understanding, and a will to train is a must if you want to adopt me. I am ready to give all my love to a family! His adoption fee is $295 and includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, up-to-date on shots, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email Kathy for an application at caseysdogs@yahoo.com. Please join us August 23, 2014 for our 'Wag-a-thon' at the Peg Bond Center in Batavia, IL. It is one of our main fundraisers this year and we need walkers! Please consider bringing your dog, your family and friends. Registration is only $25 and you receive a t-shirt. The walk-a-thon will help us pay down our veterinary bills for the dogs and puppies we have rescued this summer. We have saved 3 dogs with broken legs that have needed orthopedic care, 9 Heartworm positive dogs that have now been treated, one puppy that is blind and deaf, 5 dogs that were 9+ years and needed extensive medical care and 20+ moms with their puppies. This is in addition to the adult dogs that have come in emaciated, needing dental, and of course all needing spay and neuter, shots and micro-chipping. This is a great way to spend a Saturday morning and earn a T-shirt to boot! If you have adopted from Casey's Safe Haven Dog Rescue and 485 of you have; we would love to have you join our walk and bring your pup for updated photos. We will have a professional photographer there for pictures! For those of you that are competitive you can win prizes by asking others to sponsor your walk. (You do not have to raise additional money to walk) When you register you make a personal webpage to share with friends, family and coworkers - great prizes for our top pledge earners. But again, you can walk with only your $25 registration fee! This is a beautiful walk along the River and only two walks were allowed this year. We received one of the spots; help us make this a success. We hope to see you there! Register Now at: www.caseyswagathon.dojiggy.com (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Casper is a, beautiful, gentle male neutered pit bull/boxer mix, approximately 16 months old when he was rescued from Green River Kentucky. He has been with his foster family since mid June. He loves to play fetch, go for walks daily and play with other dogs. Currently his playmates are two large dogs. He is maybe the smallest in size but he is the youngest and enjoys playtime immensely as he spent three plus months in a kennel. Casper is housebroken, but a private poo-per, barks for attention and when somebody is at the door. He walks best on a traditional leash. An expandable leash confuses him and he think is on a tie out and wants to ... (Read More)play. After just a week he has earned the right to have freedom of our entire home with our pets.( two dogs and a cat).Casper is indifferent to our cat. He does not chase or stalk the cat. Casper understands basic commands: sit ,walk, stay ,leave it and his name. He will take food gently from your hand. Gives kisses and follows me throughout the house. If you decide to adopt Casper and you are looking for him, just look down and mostly he can be found at your feet. If necessary I would suggest you gated him as he does not do well in a crate! Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Diogi truly is an amazing pet. He is loving, loyal, and fun. He is high energy and needs a lot of exercise. Even having a fenced in back yard would help him use up some of his energy. We love him dearly and have had him since he was 5 weeks old. The only reason we can't keep him is because we can't give him the life he deserves. We have traveled across country with him and he loved it. He does well in the car and he is an amazing companion. My husband and I found out last year we would be having a baby. He does wonderfully around the baby and all other humans but he is dog/animal aggressive. My husband and I, after finding out we were ... (Read More)pregnant, stopped our traveling and moved home. Due to money issues we have had to move in with family members. We live in my mother's house and she has a dog... We were forced to find somewhere else for Diogi to live. He is currently being fostered at my husband's family's home. They have a small dog and have been keeping the two pretty much separate. They actually get along alright but due to past dog aggression they are nervous to let them be together without supervision. Lately it has come to my attention that they love Diogi but he is becoming a burden for them to continue to take care of. I heard them mention getting Diogi put down if we could not find him a home. We are desperate to find Diogi a home! He is truly amazing and we are saddened every day that we don't get to have him, but we can't see us being able to afford a place any time soon. I know there is a home for him out there. He is an adventurous and loving pet. He is the life of the party- everyone loves him just as he loves everyone he meets. If you have a home with a fence or an active lifestyle without other pets Diogi could be a perfect match for you. Please help us rehome this amazing guy. (Less)

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Sydney is a very loving girl. We took her in after her owner passed. Unfortunately her and my other boxer do not see eye to eye. She loves kids and is a good listener. Walks well on leashes. She is such a joy, but would probably do best by herself with a fenced in yard so she can run and play.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Illinois
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Illinois Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895.
