Hello my name is Jasmine. I am the happiest and most fun loving girl you will ever meet. I am about 2-1/2 years old, weigh around 60 pounds and I am a Pit Bull mix. Not sure what I'm mixed with though. Maybe Boxer as I have nice long legs? I don't look much like a Boxer though. I had a pretty rough start. I was saved from an open access shelter only a couple hours before I was to be euthanized. I was severely neglected and emaciated. I only weighed 36 pounds when I was rescued. I also ended up have a sever case of pneumonia. It has only been just over a month since I was saved but looking at me you would never know anything terrible ever ... (Read More)happened to me. I love life and everyone around me. I love to play ball and snuggle. Walks are awesome too and car rides are a blast. I want nothing more than to find a home were I will be loved and pampered like the beautiful girl I am. I get along with dogs and although interested in cats I don't try to hurt them. I would benefit from further obedience training. I am crate trained and house trained. I promise I can learn with some patience though. I am spayed, up to date on my shots, and microchipped. If you want a happy go lucky, loving dog in your life look no farther'|you have found me. Please fill out an application today so we can meet!! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JASMINE, please fill out our Adoption Application (http://www.helpinganimals.org/adopt/apply.php). This is the first step in meeting the dog. Our web site is updated regularly, so if you see a dog posted here, most likely, he/she is still available. Once you submit the application through HELP's website, someone will contact you within 24 hours. H.E.L.P. also reimburses $50.00 if the dog you adopt finishes a training class within 4 months of the adoption date. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING!! (Less)

This is Jack, originally named Ozzie, but was never responsive to Ozzie... Jack was returned to the Aurora Animal Control for biting a cat in his home, but he had been there for a couple months without any problems!? He is a bit mouthy when it comes to playing, but we have been working on that, and he responds nicely to 'no biting'. Important he has a home which will not perpetuate this biting habit. He and Cora have become best of friends, and he is always quick to let her know when she is getting out of hand, and he helps her to calm down. I would absolutely love if they could go to a home together, but I also believe they are pretty ... (Read More)easily adaptable to new situations. Jack is eager to please, and is a cuddler once play time is over. If you lift up a blanket, he will snuggle up underneath it, although he prefers to be under the blanket with you cuddled up by your feet. He is a total love nugget, and is very sweet. You just have to be sure to set boundaries with him, or else he will (literally) walk all over you. He isn't a tall guy, but he is beefy. I actually named him after Jack Link's beef jerky, because of his beefy build. And he is a beautiful brindle. (also, his coloring looks like a mix of jack & coke) if I hadn't met this sweet man the day I did, he would have been PTS that night, he barely escaped that fate, and now needs a home to call his own!!!!! He needs exercise, either fetch in a fenced in backyard, or we have actually taken him for a run on our bikes, all the way (about 2.5 miles) to our local dog park! When we arrive, he still has plenty of energy to play and meet new dogs! He has never been driven to the dog park, and I think if introduced to new dogs it is important to wear his energy out beforehand, as he can be kind of overwhelming with his eccentric energy. (Less)

Meet our beautiful, gentle, loving, smart Casper! His breed mix is a wild guess:) We have had guesses of Boxer/Blue Heeler/American Stafford Terrier/Dalmation. He is approximately 1 1/2 yrs old and was rescued from Green River Kentucky. He is living with a wonderful foster family, and is doing great! He loves to play fetch, go for walks daily and play with other dogs. Currently his playmates are two large dogs. He is maybe the smallest in size but he is the youngest and enjoys playtime immensely as he spent three plus months in a kennel. Casper is housebroken, but a private poo-per. He loves to go on walks, using the traditional leash. ... (Read More)After just a week he earned the right to have freedom of our entire home with our pets.( two dogs and a cat).Casper is indifferent to our cat, and doesn't chase or stalk the cat. Casper understands basic commands: sit ,walk, stay ,leave it and his name. He will take food gently from your hand. Gives kisses and follows me throughout the house. If you decide to adopt Casper and you are looking for him, just look down and mostly he can be found at your feet. If necessary I would suggest you gated him as he does not do well in a crate! Casper would do best in a home with another dog (s). He is young playful dog looking at a forever home.     Hi my name is Hannah. I came from a high kill shelter in Alabama, along with my 3 pups. I am a mix breed, perhaps some boxer lab shepherd. I am a young girl about 1 %BD%BD%BD%BD years old. I have been in foster care for some time now. My pups have long since been adopted and I am wondering what does a girl have to do to find a home of her own? My foster Mom says I am a good girl. I am house trained crate trained rarely bark. I could use a little help with leash training. For some reason I am just a little scared and tend to just roll over and lay down when you put it on me. I do better walking with another dog companion. . FYI Foster ... (Read More)mom and I work daily on the leash training and I am making progress. I love to play with other dogs and outside in the fenced yard, I will run like the wind. I love my doggy toys. I know sit and down and off and I am working on a few others. I am respectful of the house cats, and sometimes they let me snuggle up next to them. I can be a little shy when you first meet me, but once I feel safe I will just melt in your arms. I have a little fear of loud noises like thunder and the fireworks on the 4th of July, but nothing too bad... So what does a girl have to do to get a forever home? I only require a soft bed, 2 square meals a day and a little play time. Having another four legged friend to play with would be a bonus. In return I will provide you with undying love, loyalty and doggy kisses. Hannah will make a great companion, to any family. She is currently being fostered with 4 other dogs and 3 cats. She loves them all. She has been around children as young as 8 and does very well. She would probably do just as well with younger ones. She has a sweet disposition and is a nice mixture of mellow and playful. Her adoption fee is $295 and includes spay at our participating vets, up-to-date on shots, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance. Rescue Me ID: 14-05-18-00134Diogi (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Diogi truly is an amazing pet. He is loving, loyal, and fun. He is high energy and needs a lot of exercise. Even having a fenced in back yard would help him use up some of his energy. We love him dearly and have had him since he was 5 weeks old. The only reason we can't keep him is because we can't give him the life he deserves. We have traveled across country with him and he loved it. He does well in the car and he is an amazing companion. My husband and I found out last year we would be having a baby. He does wonderfully around the baby and all other humans but he is dog/animal aggressive. My husband and I, after finding out we were ... (Read More)pregnant, stopped our traveling and moved home. Due to money issues we have had to move in with family members. We live in my mother's house and she has a dog... We were forced to find somewhere else for Diogi to live. He is currently being fostered at my husband's family's home. They have a small dog and have been keeping the two pretty much separate. They actually get along alright but due to past dog aggression they are nervous to let them be together without supervision. Lately it has come to my attention that they love Diogi but he is becoming a burden for them to continue to take care of. I heard them mention getting Diogi put down if we could not find him a home. We are desperate to find Diogi a home! He is truly amazing and we are saddened every day that we don't get to have him, but we can't see us being able to afford a place any time soon. I know there is a home for him out there. He is an adventurous and loving pet. He is the life of the party- everyone loves him just as he loves everyone he meets. If you have a home with a fence or an active lifestyle without other pets Diogi could be a perfect match for you. Please help us rehome this amazing guy. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-01-21-00099Sydney (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Sydney is a very loving girl. We took her in after her owner passed. Unfortunately her and my other boxer do not see eye to eye. She loves kids and is a good listener. Walks well on leashes. She is such a joy, but would probably do best by herself with a fenced in yard so she can run and play.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Illinois
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Illinois Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
