This is Clyde.. Please read his story.. He is in Stratford CT and needs a rescuer or adopter ASAP!! My name is Clyde and I'm a big cupcake. I am now 3 years old. I have been with my current owner since I was 8/9 weeks. I was taken from not so great conditions :( I'm a boxer X. I need a new home..٪%8F%8F I have become a little jealous of my current doggy roommate and we had an altercation. I don't want to go the local shelter or a boarding facility. I want a family ( retired person that wants a companion or couple with no other furkids). I love running, playing with my toys, treats (especially bacon and turkey), chasing squirrels, ... (Read More)going for walks, and playing in the snow. I'm a little delicate, I like to eat blue basics grain free turkey and potato for dinner ;) I'm a little shy around new people (especially men). I don't like being wet, so swimming is definitely out! I'd be happiest in a structured home with no 'little' roommates, human or animal, with a big back yard I can run around in and a routine I can easily follow. Will you condenser adopting me.? Please I need someone who will just enjoy me..! I only have a few days to find my forever home. I need someone dog savvy And someone who understands my breed. Please, share me quickly! I am a good boy but need to be an only doggy! I am house trained/neutered and up to date with vaccines etc. (Less)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Piper came to us with a litter of four week old puppies. She was headed to animal control because the owners didn't want to deal with her and her puppies. She has one baby left to adopt now so now we would like to get her a forever home. The same family who abandoned her did not keep her on heartworm preventative so she is heartworm positive. We have her on a slow kill method and she should be free of heartworms in 6-12 months or so. It is inexpensive and easy to use. She is in great shape otherwise and loves everyone!!! She is leash trained and loves riding in the car!! Her adoption fee (adoption fee, transport fee, and health cert fee are ... (Read More)included) is $500. She is Texas NOT in CT due to the lack of fosters in the area. If you would consider adopting this dog from Transport then please email us. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog!! We transport dogs to the New England area every two weeks. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-02-00286Desi (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

One of the most satisfying aspects of rescue is witnessing a dog's profound transformation in spirit from fearful to joyous. Our Desi is a sublime example of just such a transformation. Desi had been a stray for some time before Animal Control Officers were able to entice her to given up her independence. Once at the shelter, she was assigned to Maria, who patiently worked with Desi for over 90 days before the pup seemed to relax to human touch. She was one of those special girls, whose sad brown eyes revealed a timid soul unsure of her place in the world. When she came onto our radar, we happily invited her to join our Rescue, and, slowly, ... (Read More)over the course of the first few weeks, Desi has blossomed into a relaxed and affectionate girl. Desi is an estimated one year old German Shepherd, with the classic, short saddleback marked coat, Shepherd head shape, and black and tan colors. We also see a surprising brindle pattern on her chest and legs that suggests likely Boxer DNA. Desi is a large dog at 53 pounds, but is slightly underweight. She could easily fill out nicely over the next year to reach an ideal weight of 55 to 60 pounds. We recommend a grain free kibble diet with added Omega fats and high quality protein as well as nutritious natural treats like pieces of apple, veggies, etc. Desi strikes us as an insecure girl, who needs strong leadership to help build her confidence. As a double dose of working dog, she will benefit from consistent obedience work to boost her self esteem and give her the sense of purpose that working dogs need to maintain balanced behavior. Desi is best suited to an adult home, with an active single or couple, who have the time to focus on her training needs. She has mastered all of her commands, and adopters should be able to get up to speed with Desi very quickly. Desi would be a fantastic companion to an active single or couple, who can provide a fair amount of exercise and leadership. She is reserved at first, but warms quickly to firm and patient human touch. Desi is easy to handle on lead and tolerant of other dogs. She could easily join a multi-dog home, with one or two calm, well trained dogs. We would like to steer clear of toddlers, because Desi might be spooked by their overzealous attentions. Desi has had little obedience training, but she is responding nicely to basic commands. She seems to enjoy the training, as well as the training treats! Desi is a quick student, eager to please, and responds to both positive reinforcement and leadership techniques. Adopters should continue her obedience work, not only to foster good behavior, but to give Desi the mental challenge that she needs each day. Desi has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to a new home. She is in great health and has been spayed. Desi has been vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitus, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza, coronavirus), and she has been boostered as needed. She has had the 4dx test: negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been dewormed, microchipped and is on preventatives for Heartworm and Flea/Tick. If you are interested in Desi, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or call Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-13-00246Buster (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We took Buster into our home almost a year ago. He original owner passed away and he hopped around to a few houses. He is very good with my kids, good with our smaller dog, tolerates our cat, and is good when introduced properly to strangers. The problem lies in having him around strangers. He is very territorial when someone is passing the house and becomes difficult to control. He has also snapped at myself and my wife while trying to get him under control. We, as a family, are away at racetracks on a weekly basis, and would not be able to keep him with us with the amount of strangers and other dogs at the tracks.

Hi! My name is Buddy and I'm a 3-year-old Boxer mix and weigh about 55 lbs. I'm an incredibly sweet and loving dog with the perfect mix of energy and calmness: I love to play in the yard with other dogs, but I'll settle down when it's time to come inside. When dogs are rough with me, I'm still incredibly gentle and never growl or bite. I also love to play with children and don't mind if they climb on me or pull my tail - I am very patient! I am good in cars and I walk well on a leash. I'm a smart boy, so I am fully house-trained and I'm even learning basic commands! You will never meet a dog that's happier to be with his people, so let me ... (Read More)know if you're looking for a forever friend to give you unconditional love!     Hi I'm Ally and I'm a 5-year-old bulldog mix that weighs about 50 lbs. I love long walks and I'm great on hiking trips. I love people of all ages, I'm very gentle with children, and I get along great with other dogs. I'm a smart girl so I'm crate-trained and I NEVER go to the bathroom in the house. I also know basic commands and learn new ones very easily. I love to play, but I also love to be a couch potato when it's time to relax. So if you're looking for a gentle pup to give you unconditional love and be your forever cuddle-buddy, then I'm your girl! PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Connecticut
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

Boxer
lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Connecticut Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
