Rescue Me ID: 15-02-27-00082JOEY the GREAT (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is JOEY the GREAT! A very handsome 2 yr old boy with green beautiful eyes is a cuddly 30lb mix of beagle/boxer/terrier and love! Joey and his friend were confiscated from dreadful conditions in south Texas. His friend has since been adopted and Joey is still longong for his forever family to find him. And for the life of us, we don't know why someone has not adopted this GREAT dog. When Joey came into the shelter he had a vacant look in his eyes and there were suspicions he was deaf. That is certainly NOT case %BD'%BD| Joey has done remarkable in the shelter. He has blossomed! He is a good boy, listens well, loves to ... (Read More)cuddle, and gets along great with the 5 yr old son of one of the shelter staff. Joey has a loving nature and is affectionate. Joey will be a loyal companion. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, micro chipped and heartworm negative. Joey's adoption fee is $170. Joey is currently in a shelter in the high kill state of Texas. There are few qualified adopters here and an overpopulation of great dogs. And we all know the heartbreaking truth of what happens to shelter dogs when more arrive. So we are desperately looking for Joey's forever family on the East Coast. Our adopted dogs get to kiss Texas goodbye bi-monthly via Rescue Road Trips. There is a $185 fee for their safe and secure transport into the waiting arms of their new lucky families. Joey will need some help learning potty manners since he has always been kept outside. But he does not soil in his kennel and has the ability to learn quickly with proper direction. Time invested in to this dog will have huge dividends. If you would like to save this sweet, gentle and eager to please boy by adopting him into your heart and home, contact us straight away for an adoption application. Joey says thanks for considering him and he hopes you are the family he is dreaming of. Don't miss his video, click on the YouTube icon under his picture. PS - Joey now has a new BFF at the shelter. Her name is Marley, she is a beautiful white shepherd and lab mix. Their favorite pastime is to scout out the mud puddles and roll in them! Our director says in a perfect world it would be great for them to go home together, but we will be happy if we can find just one loving home for each. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-26-00467Flyer (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Flyer came into rescue quite by accident. He was originally owned by a band of Gypsies who were passing through a small Louisiana town when a rescuer spotted them. What caught her eye is that they were all on bicycles and one was towing a Red Flyer wagon with an unrestrained gangly puppy inside. When she chided them for subjecting the puppy to the dangers of street traffic, they asked her to take him as he was rapidly outgrowing the wagon. She did and brought him to the shelter where he was named Flyer after the wagon he spent so much time in. Luckily for Flyer, he is in foster care, where he spends his days playing in a large yard with ... (Read More)other dogs, both large and small. He has boundless energy and will definitely need daily walks plus some hikes and yard play in his new home. He does walk well on a leash, though his curiosity oftentimes distracts him (see video). He likes to play with toys, both fuzzy and squeaky, but he is not a retriever. Since Flyer is now approaching maturity, he should not get much bigger than his current frame and weight (75-80#). He is still enough of a puppy, however, to soak up new experiences and training to make him a valuable member of any family. He may be too big and puppyish for small children. He is so sweet and gentle with litters of orphaned puppies, it is so sweet to see! Flyer is housebroken and crate trained and has a gorgeous, shiny black haircoat. He's at the top of his game, so if you think Flyer is your "guy," please copy and paste this link in your web browser and fill out our online application, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html. All vetting included in his $325 adoption fee. We cannot be certain what his true mix is. Transport is an additional $185 paid directly to the transporter. (Less)

Finnegan (Finn) is a one and a half year old, 70 lb, half boxer/half american bulldog. He is my best friend and due to financial/family issues; I need to find him the loving home he deserves. Finn loves playing outside but is the best cuddle bud you could ever ask for. Finn is great with other animals at doggy daycare and at the dog park, but he has always been the only dog in the home--so I am not sure how he would do with another dog sibling. Finn has never been around cats or small children. Finn is completely housebroken and crate trained. The adoption fee is negotiable--but you must be able to financially take care of an animal in ...     My fiance and I are seeking to relinquish our 5 year old male, boxer mix that was rescued as a puppy. We are unfortunately unable to care for him any longer as he has demonstrated fear aggression with some strangers and will not be suitable in a home with children. He is not a 'high energy' dog but will run at the chance. He does very well with an invisible fence. He is very sweet, loving and just wants to cuddle. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Connecticut
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Connecticut Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895.
