Boris is a very special guy. He was set to be euthanized 3 times but luckily had a stay of execution each time. Today that was not going to happen. He was going to die today. We were given his info by a friend and asked to take a look. We tagged him and gave him the second chance he deserves. He is at a temporary foster and is in need of a forever home. He is heartworm positive and has been started on a slow kill regiment. His heartworm meds will be provided when he gets adopted. He is very sweet and loves kids! He is healing from an unknown injury to his back end but you can barely tell and will be 100% in no time! He is a wonderful boy and ... (Read More)needs a forever home!!! Rescue Me ID: 17-07-07-00601Bruno (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! I'm Bruno and I'm a 2-year-old American Bulldog that weighs about 70 lbs. I am the happiest boy you'll ever meet - my tail is always wagging and I have a goofy bulldog smile! I've had 3 months of obedience training, so I'm incredibly well-trained! My favorite thing to do is to play with other dogs! I'm 100% house-trained (so no accidents in the house for me!) and I'm not destructive, so I'm allowed to free-roam in the house when nobody is home. I'm a gentle giant, but if we're in the house, I'll be your protector to strangers until you tell me that they're our friends. I love people of all sizes, but I'd do best in a house with children ... (Read More)over 12 years old (since sometimes I jump up when I'm excited). I like to run around outside, but I settle down very easily inside the house - I love to burrow under blankets and sleep cuddled up next to you. So let me know if you're looking for a cuddle bug to be your forever friend! I currently live in a foster home in Texas, but transport will be included in the adoption fee and arranged by Rescue Road Trip if you choose to adopt! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Connecticut
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Connecticut if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Connecticut Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
