Health: Neutered

A5060714 Popeye | Pit Bull/Boxer A5060714 Popeye is a laid-back 3-year-old caramel-and-white male Pit Bull and Boxer mix who came into the Baldwin Park Animal Care center as stray from Covina on May 14th. Weighing 80 lbs, this gentle giant is as chill as it gets. He is good on leash and seems well socialized, but he looks to have been neglected. Popeye needs to put on a wee bit of weight and could use a good spa day to get the shine back in his coat. He was well behaved and friendly with dogs of all sizes that he met at the Care Center, and he passed his shelter-administered temperament test with flying colors. With a medium energy level ... (Read More)and such a sweet disposition, Popeye is a keeper. We think he'll be a great indoor pet and companion for any individual or family that has the time to give him the love and attention he deserves and who'll take him on walks and give him other forms of exercise. Popeye has such a gentle soul that he certainly needs a chance to be in a loving home and have a better life than he's had.     Forest is a very loving older dog. We rescued him from the Shelter. He had been there for a month. The owners had surrendered him. He loves people. I believe he was never socialized. I let him out with my dogs and then he will jump and pin them. He is funny to watch. He will run around in circles. He will be going full speed and then come stop instantaneously next to you. He was left outside from what we were told. He is inside now and prefers it. Again great dog that loves to walk(maybe not in a straight line) but loves it anyways and great in a home with no dogs.     A5051836 Pyro is a happy-go-lucky red-and-white 2-year-old male Pit Bull and Boxer mix who was found as a stray on April 19 and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Weighing 65 lbs, Pyro is an absolute loverboy: he adores being with people and is guaranteed to make you laugh with his goofy, happy personality. He shows signs of being housebroken and walks decently on leash, but would benefit from a refresher of his obedience skills. He should learn quickly as he is eager to please his handler.     Hi, will you be my new home and family who will love and care for me. My current owner is getting divorced and was forced to sell her home so I've gone from running and playing in a big yard to a small patio! She rescued me from someone at 6 months old (now I am 6). I see she's heartbroken to give me up, but she wants me to have a good, fun life! My traits are mostly shepherd in that I am very protective of my family and my home, I bark to warn people off, am intelligent and follow commands (sit, come, stay, lay down, out, leave it, bed time, get in your crate, get your toy). I love to play frisbee or catch the ball, love to play with ... (Read More)children and enjoy hiking (even in the rain!). I am actually a good swimmer and used to have a pool to jump in when it got too hot for me, and I love the beach. If you are an active, outdoor person then I would be perfect for you. But, I also enjoy being pampered and snuggling up with you on the couch. Unfortunately I'm not good with other dogs so I would have to be the one and only! I do, however, play with the ridgeback puppies that grew up with me, so MAYBE with a lot of patience I may learn to be with another dog. I am healthy, up to date on my shots and have regular check ups at Banfield Pet Hospital because I am on the Wellness Plan. Call Rosemarie on 619/871-6589. Rehoming fee $179 to ensure a responsible loving home. I come with my bed, toys, treats. (Less)

We rescued Hope from a high kill shelter and she was very thin, dirty and scared. She has received a lot of TLC and is now happy and looking great. Hope is approximately 1 1/2 years old and weighs 48 pounds. She is good with other dogs and loves people. She does get a little anxious on leash when meeting other dogs so she needs a slow and proper leash introduction. She loves to run and play and also loves cuddles! She loves her walks and is leash trained. Hope will need a home that has the time to train a young dog and she will need plenty of daily exercise as she has a good deal of puppy energy.

Marley can't seem to catch a break. We hope someone will see this post and turn this sweet dogs luck around. Marley has been waiting for his family for 13 months now. Marley is in a wonderful train and board program. But despite lots of exercise and stimulation he's losing hope. What Marley really wants is a family to call his own. Some of you may recall his story: Marley was brought into the shelter with a severe head trauma. In May 2016, (see photos on the right) he was picked up by a rescue group. Unfortunately, this group did not get him the required (and expensive) surgery he needed which caused a massive infection to spread in his ... (Read More)skull and jaw. After six months in their 'care' the rescue surrendered him to us. We rushed him straight to the vet. The doctors informed us that he may not make it through surgery. He needed to have multiple rotten teeth extracted and pieces of rotten bone removed from his skull. Miraculously he pulled through and recovered like a champ. Then -- he need a training. He had no manners and didn't know how to play. We have been working on that with him and he's doing much better. But he's a careless player and can be rough with some dogs. This has caused him to strike out in two of the potential homes we had lined up for him. Marley's perfect home would be as an only dog with a very active person. He would love to be a running and hiking buddy, and he would love to chase the ball for you. He's a bit of a spaz at times but very respectful of his handlers. He's wonderful in the house, crate trained and leash trained and not destructive. He's very affectionate with his humans and wants to please. Marley is a boxer pit mix. He is now a year and a half old. He has endured so much neglect and abuse, he deserves a forever home. So please tag anyone you think could be a good match for dog with a very sad story and a lopsided smile to match. (Less)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered

These 4 pups are from a sweet, loving, jagdterrier, Lauralynn, famously known in the small city of Barstow CA as the Stater Bros Dog. Laurralynn was a free range dog that captured many Barstonian hearts. For six months people of Barstow worked to gain her trust so she could be rescued from the harsh streets. The rescue team noticed that she was pregnant, approaching her due date, and going to deliver her pups in a storm drain. Word got out to dog rescue extraordinaire Faith Easdale, and she quickly made her way to Barstow to save Lauralynn and her babies. One week later Lauralynn delivered 9 wonderful pups. She has been an amazing mother, ... (Read More)but it is time for these pups to have a home where they can be pampered and loved. (Less)

About 2 %BD years ago we adopted a Boxer Pup, we named her Bananas. She has all her vaccinations and was spayed about a month ago. We are at a crossroad where we need to find her a home with someone who she'd be the only pet. If you're wondering why'|we also have an American Bull Dog and Bananas has reached the age where she wants to become the Alpha and that has caused aggression between the two of them. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Snickers is an 11 month old male Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He came to our rescue after being seized by animal control from a home where he was kept on a 4 ft chain and muzzled. He is very mellow and sweet. He is still a little shy around new people but warms up when he gets to know you. He is more more confident when he is around other dogs and would do best in a home with another dog. He weighs approx 40 lbs. He's neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

My name is Lindy. Some people call me Belinda the beauty. I was rescued from the Riverside shelter not too long ago. I was sent there after being found wandering the streets. I don't know how long I wandered but I was still pretty healthy when I arrived to the shelter. The shelter was a stressful place, but fortunately for me, I got to have a cell mate that I could cuddle with and play with. She was my best friend.     Staff Notes* 5/1/17 'I have fostered Emerson on and off for many months and he is fantastic! He is looking for a home that has breed experience as he acts very much like a boxer and like a pitty. He is not a fan of feet but loves belly rubs and butt scratches. He does not jump up on furniture and just likes to lay on a blanket or dog bed. He does pull when on leash but has great recall and is really good off leash. He can not go to dog parks or be around lots of strangers. In the past month, they have gotten into 2 really bad fights and it is heartbreaking. They are both males and the vet says both dominant dogs and that one of them will end up dead or or two young sons will end up getting bit trying to break up a fight. We have had Ranger since he was about 3 months old. Incidentally, we rescued him. We were told he was a ... (Read More)hound. He started looking like a pit bull and the vet says he is pit bull and boxer. We did have a female pit bull who passed away 3 years ago at the age of 13. So we are familiar with the breed. We do not have the room to separate the dogs on a daily basis, and even though they play and are friends, there are moments when one just 'snaps' and the fight is horrible. They didn't used to draw blood but things are progressing. The vet says Ranger is the sweetest dog. He loves people. I feel like we failed him but it is not fair to either dog to keep them in the same household. Although it breaks my heart, I am hoping there is someone looking for a great and loveable dog who is goofy and full of slober and loves to play ball .     This is Jack. Jack is posted on this site because he was placed (misplaced) in a home in San Francisco, CA and I want to find him a better situation because Jack is definitely not a city dog. I have known Jack for just over three years now. He is 3.5 years old. Jack is a sweet dog. However, he is afraid of most people; he just doesn't trust humans--they make him nervous. He warms up to women faster than men and once he trusts you, he is playful and obedient. If you are a patient, kind person, he will warm up to you in time; it just takes a handful of meetings. Jack LOVES other dogs--especially female dogs. He can bring the shyest dog out of ... (Read More)their shell to play with him. In the right setting Jack is super playful and gentle and good natured. In the wrong setting, aka city life--loud noises, lots of people, he is timid, anxious and will bark to protect himself from all the scariness surrounding him. He deserves the right home--out of the city, into a quieter setting--and I want to find it for him. So here is what I am looking for in a home for this sweet soul of a dog. It may sound funny and very specific but I know Jack well and this is what he needs: He would like to live with a woman who is not very social; a woman who likes dogs more than she likes people. He would like to live out in the suburbs or better yet, out in the country where there is a lot of land and other dogs to play with. I would love for Jack to be in a home with other dogs because dogs bring Jack happiness. Being around other dogs seems to calm him and bring out the playfulness in him. Jack deserves lots of love and patience and kindness. If you match this description and would like to meet Jack, I would love to hear from you. I'm not going to rehome Jack to just anyone. Jack is special and deserves to be happy and feel safe. (Less)

Tasha is a very sweet energetic girl who is happy to snuggle and give you some love. She loves all people and has done well with some cats. She is dog selective but does well with a proper introduction. She does not do well with young children and would be best in a child free home or older children. She is our first 'baby' and we want to make sure she goes to a good home. We hate to have to rehome her but she is not doing well with our son. I would travel to the moon to make sure she is happy and she will make the perfect companion for someone out there I am sure.*courtesy post*

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

RUFUS, is absolutely the greatest face you've seen! He's so awesome with his bubbly personality and beautiful coat!! He loves to play and gets along with most dogs but LOVES small dogs. A year ago we received a call from a good Samaritan who had found RUFUS in a park in L.A all by himself. Rufus followed them home with their small dog and a match was made in heaven! The only problem was the landlord said no dogs over 25 pounds! Rufus was listed on petfinder but somehow the listing fell off without us knowing! So he is considered a NEW GEM because no one has seen him ( unless you have volunteered) and he's waiting for YOU and his forever ... (Read More)loving home!Rufus has been here living the fun times here but REALLY NEEDS a home of his own! Would love hiking, swimming, running and is the happiest, sweet boy. He's supper cute and a real character! About 2 years old. Up to date on shots and micro chipped and neutered. We get many inquiries, so its best to fill out an application if you are actively ready to adopt. You will then have your application reviewed and receive a call to make an appointment.     Meet Rocky! He is a 3 year old Boxer Mix and weighs 73 lbs. Rocky is new to our rescue and we are learning more about him daily. Rocky is housebroken, current on all vaccines and is neutered. Rocky must go to home with a secure yard with a high fence. He was brought to us because his family had a fence that was around 5' and he kept getting out and they lived on a busy street. They are renters and could not get the homeowners permission to fix the fence. Also, Rocky has never been socialized with other dogs, so we are working on that. Rocky is a big love and great with kids. However we recommend only placing him in a home with older children ... (Read More)due to his size and energy level. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in California
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

Boxer
lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost California Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. The boxer was originally bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States.
