Meet Little Red! He is a small package of 35-40 pounds, a gorgeous boy Boxer mixed with sugar! He is one of the most awesome dogs I have ever known and after having him for a period of time I can truly say he is smart, very affectionate and funny too. He is quiet, pretty well mannered and enjoys running and playing with all size dogs. He gives you no trouble at all. He is treat motivated so easy to train and has already learned basic cues like sit, come and get in your kennel. He is wonderful little dog that would make a great companion dog to individual that would love to have a dog to hang out with. He would do well with a family with ... (Read More)teens. He loves to run fast so small toddlers and young children would not be a good fit, but older and teens he would love to pal around with. Little Red would do well in a household with other dogs and thus far he is a round a chicken he ignores. Hasn't been tested around cats, but I suspected he could learn to get along with them too. Little Red is just too cute when he raises his cheek to you to ask you to give him a kiss. At times he just wants you to pet him and rub his belly. He also enjoys a game of hide and seek. He is not much of a retriever, but he loves to play keep away with a tennis ball or toy. To see Little Red in action visit our videos. You must have an active lifestyle and large yard with a minimum of 6' high fence. We are by appointment only & only after verification. If you are not willing to be verified prior to meeting the dog you're interested in, then we do not feel you are best suited for one of our dogs. Serious adopters have no issues being verified for the safety of the dog. Please tell us about yourself, family, lifestyle, other pets, children. Make sure to include a contact number. Puppies under four-months-old are available for transport at the adopters expense via United Airlines ONLY. We do not ship our dogs over four-months-old, you must come to our location in Sylacauga AL 35151 to meet them & for us to meet you. At that time we will go over all training of your new dog so, please plan on being here a minimum of one hour. Verification: 1) We require a letter of reference from your veterinarian or their information for us to contact them for a reference. If providing the reference from them we are looking for: Current pets are altered, on HW prevention, flea prevention, received Rabies vaccination, and all medical they may have needed as advised by your vet. If not willing to provide all of the information to ensure the safety of the dog you are inquiring about then please do not waste our time contacting us. If it states the dog cannot be placed with other dogs, then no other dogs, your dog is not the exception just because your dog is friendly & loves everything. While we do not place aggressive dogs back in the general public, we give them sanctuary, not all dogs can peacefully live in a home with another dog. All dogs over six-months-old have been with us for a minimum of 30 days prior to being considered for adoption. All puppies under six-months-old have been with us a minimum of 14 days to insure free of contagious disease. Our adoption fee's are nonnegotiable. The adoption fee does not come close to covering the care of the dog while with us however, the fee goes towards helping the next dog in need. If you cannot afford or are unwilling to pay the fee listed for a fully vetted, fully trained dog then you are not the home we are looking for, for one of our dogs. All of our dogs come crate trained, leash trained, basic obedience trained, & are house broken. The exception is young puppies that are working on housebreaking. We do not teach puppies to puppy pads as I have never understood the concept of teaching any dog that the house is a bathroom. We back our dogs for life & will provide free training for them at our location if a behavior issue occurs, even 10 years from date of adoption. They are UTD on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (exception is puppies under four-months, they go out with a voucher to be altered & if not done so by four-months we void the contract and take the puppy back), microchipped. They are HW- and on prevention for HW's as well as flea & tick medication. In the event they are HW+ (the ad will state if so) we provide all medication to treat plus cover all medical related to until such time they receive two negative test results. HW treatment is noninvasive & simply giving oral medication cures the disease, it is nothing like it use to be. (Less)

Buddy was left abandoned for 5 long months when his owners moved away. For 5 long months Buddy waited and waited for his owners to return. Never once leaving the property except for a few times to find refuge under the neighbors porch to get out of the rain. No one knows where he slept at night but he would be there in his spot every morning. Day after day waiting for his owners to return. Never giving up hope. Buddy is such a sweet guy. He is very loving and he seems so happy to have a warm bed at night and someone there to love him He does have arthritis of the spine and hip which will require management. He is currently taking Dasuquin daily and doing so well with it. He gets around better and has become playful with the other dogs. He has a favorite spot he likes to lay and either chew on his favorite toy or will lay quietly the whole day except for an occasional random bark. We like to think he is telling us what a great life he has now and thanking us. Buddy may only have less then 5 yrs to live but he is so deserving of a loving home with a family that will never again abandoned him. OUT OF STATE adoptions are possible. If you are working with For The Love Of Dogs/Vermont Dog Rescue, the additional fee is $200 to cover transportation costs and the health certificate, which is required to cross state lines. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Alabama
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.
