Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Rudy is a Boxer/ Boston terrier mix, otherwise known as a mini Boxer! That is approximately 8 years old and weighs 35 lbs. She has had one of the hardest lives of any of the rescues we have seen but is by far one of the sweetest. She was found starving, had old injuries from being hit by a car, was pregnant, heartworm positive, and was full of parasites. She has spent lots of time at the vet and has been spayed (puppies were not viable and she was not going to make it without an emergency C-section), fully vaccinated and dewormed. She is currently getting over bronchitis and if she is deemed well enough will be treated for heartworms. This ... (Read More)sweet old girl needs a quite loving place to call her own after her rough start. She is fine with cats and certain dogs and has done very well with young kids. Rudy's adoption fee is $150. He is about a year old- medium size- around 40-45 lbs. He loves people and other dogs. His sister was genetically tested and found to have Boxer, lab, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Korean Jindu, and American BullDog in equal amounts and 25% unknown.     When one thinks of Cocoa they usually think of warm, comforting, snuggling up with a blanket on the couch... and trust us, our loveable Cocoa is no exception. He would just love to snuggle up with his future fur-ever family, cozy as a bug in a rug, getting his belly rubbed and his ears scratched. Don't you want to help this sweet boy live up to his name? Cocoa is about 8 months old, UTD on shots, neuter pending prior to adoption, playful but loving, and available for adoption from Second Chance SHelter in Boaz for a $30 adoption fee. PIease Read Before Adopting a Boxer in Alabama
Boxer Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. Boxer dogs are energetic, playful and intelligent animals, they like to clown around a lot and will keep you laughing. Boxers learn new things quickly, and, at the same time, can be clever and stubborn. Boxer dogs bond well with a family, are very affectionate and get along well with children. Boxers need a lot of exercise, and will be well-behaved as long as they are taken on long walks every day. If kept confined without a lot of exercise, however, boxer dogs can become destructive. Boxers require lots of human companionship and should never be left alone for long periods of time.

lnteresting Boxer Trivia Low-Cost Alabama Spay & Neuter Clinics
The name boxer originates from the fact that boxer dogs look like they are actually boxing when they play using their front paws. Boxers were first introduced at a dog show in Munich, Germany in 1895. Boxer dogs are the sixth most popular breed in the United States. Approximately 1 in 5 boxers are born white, and almost 20% of white boxers are deaf.
